@@Huddison Fantastic premium grade tutorials!!!!! I am absolutely loving the previous Glass Garmin 1000's let alone this new series. It's truly a fantastic piece of kit. How do these developers make any money??? The time and effort in coding one of these to be a "virtual" replica of the real thing is beyond me. The G1000 NXi upgrade for these aircraft is available for a list price of $28,995 from Garmin Authorized Dealers (installation and hardware charges may apply), which includes the avionics system software and STC Letter of Authorization (LOA) from Textron Aviation for list price of $4,000. Aircraft that currently have a WAAS G1000 integrated flight deck that are now eligible for the G1000 NXi upgrade are as follows: Cessna 172 R/S Cessna 182T Cessna 206H Beechcraft Bonanza G36 Beechcraft Baron G58 We get one for nothing? Free? Wow!
Hi The latest update from MS has included the switch over to the G1000 NXI for all aircraft that previously had the standard G1000. Your video has been a great help in accessing the navigation features that this has opened up. However, I thought I’d let you (and others) know about a couple of issues I’ve been experiencing. Let me say straightaway these relate to my use of the Logitech Multipanel, which have started since I’ve moved over to the NXI. It’s possible also I’m the only one experiencing this and it may be an update is needed now to the Logitech driver. But, my system has become unreliable now when setting a change in altitude, including adjusting the vertical speed. Sometimes it works using the Logitech, sometimes it doesn’t. The autopilot no longer syncs properly with the Garmin. Using the in-cockpit autopilot seems to work ok though. The other issue I’ve experienced, is that when adding Waypoints within the NXI, it is quite difficult to make a change or amend an entry error. The CLR button doesn't seem to do anything. I’ve found that using the keyboard to overwrite an entry seems the best approach but wonder if this is how it really should be? I’d be very interested to know if other Logitech Multipanel users have found similar issues using the panel for autopilot settings.
Thanks for sharing your issues with the G1000 NXI and Multipanel Ken; it'll be interesting to know what others think & I'll be testing this out myself.

Hi! Another very interesting and helpful video, thanks! I am still using the original G1000 and have not switched to the NXI. I'm excited to hear that the next update will make the NXI the default G1000 as it looks a big step forward. I agree that setting up your own flight plan in the aircraft is much more rewarding than using the FS planner. I’ve been disappointed however at the limited range of aircraft that you can fly in FS with the Garmin 1000: have you any thoughts about a faster option to fly than the Cessna 172 please? I’ll probably wait now till the next FS update comes out to switch over to the NXI: do you know if that will require a separate download after the FS general update or will it change all existing aircraft using the current version over to the NXI? Certainly using the NXI as you’ve shown does look really great! Thanks again! Ken
Hi Ken, many thanks for your wonderfully kind comments, once again. When I want to fly something with a bit more power than the C-172, I generally opt for the Grand Caravan. The Kodiak is another good option, but a little more complex to fly.
Hi, Love the videos - I'm having trouble figuring out how to use the OBS function in the Garmin that you find in planes like the Islander... do you have a video that explains it? No problems on the 1000nxi, just the other models!
As you've not doubt discovered yourself, each aircraft's AP functions can vary wildly. I am aiming to make other videos on different types, although I'm not over familiar with the Islander. The Discord can be a gret help in that respect.
Hi there! I followed this video before latest update and it worked just fine. After the big update in october, nr 10 I think - Something went wrong. I did the same flight plan and when it was finished I try to start the engine but could not turn the key. It did not move. Other buttons was dead to. I can only change things in G1000, nothing else. Tried again by starting up the engine first and then put in the flight plan. After a few enters the engine went silent and same thing happens. The propeller is turning but the plane was mecanically dead. Tried with a Bechcraft, same thing ther. So what can I do? Should I consider a total reinstallation? I have no payed things, empty comunity folder, so nothing that can interfere. Up date windows 11 and the Geforce GTX 2070. Nothing helps. Any suggestion?
Hmm sounds like something else might be at play with your settings. Jump onto the Discord (link in the description); we can better help you there I feel.
