by FAR the smoothest and most stable fps i’ve ever had in the sim. still testing it but a huge improvement for me. it was instantly noticeable around busy airports, when running other programs and when panning the camera.

Have to say, simulator was smoother than ever with SU15 in VR. Very pleased with the update!

Xbox x Download and updating took me an hour no problems tested flying over new york city,miami, did a short flight in los angeles no stutters didnt have time to test more areas i will this weekend hoping hoping no more black screens and im one of those who likes atc hopefully the atc cutoff midflight is fixed. Good to hear less stuttering over london i love flying this area havnt been able to for a long time.all in all very happy with the update. Keep it coming huddison your awesome love your content and tutorials.

This was the fastest and smoothest download i have ever experienced. Forgot to clear my community folder before download and launch but everything behaved wonderfully. No issues so far and definitely notice the improvements in graphics and ground taxing of GA aircraft. Flying in VR was noticeably smoother and normally i get a stutter fest when approach landing but so far smooth as butter. Haven’t updated Xbox yet (to much fun on pc), will do later. So far it is a most enjoyable and noticeably improved update! Thanks Asobo and team! For me very well done!!!👏🏾❤👏🏾

Very happy with this update. Installed with no issues and flying out of London City and around London is a very smooth experience on my mid range PC. Ive yet to update my Xbox series X but not expecting any issues.

The update took about 20 minutes today 24/05/2024 3pm, although the installation of the world upgrades seemed to take quite a while after the initial download.... All seems well with my simulator since the update, no change in fact, having said that I was happy with it before.....My greatest fear is that it is going to perform worse, which has happened after previous updates.... As being the author of the "FS2020 Release - Beta Switcher" which allows me to switch from Beta branch to Release Branch (works only on a Steam install!) in seconds my "Update" yesterday evening was flawless 🤣 I had SU-15 for a week already in my Beta Branch. Switched to Release this morning & updated my Release Branch. Flawless as well. Servers provided decent download files. Currently I am happy with the sim, as maybe some might know was not the case always in the last 3 years.

Great experience, download was fine. Interestingly EDDP airport I think was part of the duluxe/premium package or something because that added an extra 3.5 GB onto the BASE install. Anyway the sim just runs beautifully, generally taxiing is a joy, it's so smooth even in built up areas, well done Asobo!!!!

Xbox Series X Player I did two flights since Sim Update 15. In the B737 800, I had add on airports too with Nandi, Fiji [NFFN] to Brisbane [YBBN], and it ran fine. Beforehand, I was suffering from black screens landing at [NFFN] add on airport. Now, no problems. So far for me, it's running smoothly.

Updated to SIM Update 15 on XSX here this morning with no issues what so ever. Flew the 172 from Heathrow to London City, and London City to Gatwick (Orbx UK & London Packs installed) with a couple of split second pauses as the London scenery was loading in, but its always done that. I love how I can see the Shard from Heathrow, the draw distance is insane, same with the mast on Winter Hill (Bolton) being visible from Blackpool. I have the Cache set to 16GB in case that makes a difference for anyone and I have to say I think the Sim looks a little better overall*. Very happy with it here, but I've had little trouble with it in the past. (*Your experience may vary depending on your set up!)

Downloaded at 11PMCST(Canadian prairies area) and it all went off without a hitch and completed everything in about 20 minutes. This was on Series "S".

I noticed some good improvements. Good to see the screen not defaulting to windowed mode. Wish they would fix the "splash screens" which do not adjust to an ultrawide monitor resolution. Regarding the micro stutters; when approaching some airports and changing from one geographical "tile" to another, unfortunately they still remain on occasion. I tested this for hours flying from NZA Simulations MIlford Sound area in New Zealand to Christchurch airport. Just about 20 miles from Christchurch as you change from country to a slightly suburban "tile" the sim pauses for a micro second before smooth flight continues. I was flying the Black Square Turbine Duke. TLOD was at 150 in my settings, I probably need to reduce it to 100 maybe. This particular pause can occur in many other geographical areas. Generally my sim is smooth. I usually cap my FPS at 33 in my Nvidia control panel.

Perfectly seamless download and installation. Noticeable improvement in ground handling, and finally crosswind landings have a much more "real" feel to them. I'm running three 80" 4k tvs at max res for a lifesize cockpit surround effect, and all that screen real estate has forced me to dual back most graphics settings to High or Medium, but I'm back to tweaking them up again thanks to SU 15.

Lovely update for me on the series S. I did a test flight with the new A320v2 by ini and i landed in KMCO and i had no stutters nor black screens and it was a full flight with ground handling at both departure and landing airports id say it was a good update for me but i do have to add that i have my rolling cache off and i have really fast internet.

For me the download went well with relatively good speed all the way. I have an older system, but tried a short hop in the Cessna 172 (since I believe the new soft gear ground handling only applies to that and the Guimbal Cabri at the moment) from a busy airport. As expected I still get some stuttering that I guess is because of the lack of power, but I generally got better performance. And the ground handling felt different in a better way. 🙂

The update went well. I did notice the lighting of planes flying above me didn't look correct. I was getting stutters after the restart, but then realized it was on Ultra. I usually can only fly in medium settings. So the performance has improved. Did have issues with autopilot not working correctly on several aircraft. I tried 7 different aircraft today. 3 with autopilot issues. (PC not xbox). I'll do more testing tomorrow.

Hi again ...the download went without incident & it WAS much faster. I gave it a decent test flight over areas in which I normally fly & I must say I'm impressed. My RTX 3080 drives three ...4K displays @ 43 inches each. (I run a fourth smaller screen for the menus). I LOVE good graphics & often run on High end ...& will drop down to medium graphics during live weather & live players when it is hard on the GPU. I also use many add-ons & enhancements. This taxes the graphics card to the max & I am honestly happy with anything over 30 FPS. I'm getting that now but it is stutter free & smoother & seldom drops lower. This is just my first one hour impressions ...but it is a "positive" for once. I hope they leave the dang thing alone now! ....IT's working! Thanks Huddison.

X Box here. Updated without any problems. One of the fastest update yet. Around 250 Mbps. Flew over London and New York, No stutters and no Black screen. Super smooth. No difference in scenery that I could notice. Cheers.

Thx for this video. How About graphic driver, what are you using for SU15 at te moment. I had a feeling of more micro stutters and not smoth paning around in the cockpit....

Had absolutely no issues downloading it (with pretty decent speed too), and I haven't experienced any dips in performance either (My specs : Ryzen 5 4600g, RTX 2060, and 32GB Ram). 😀

X Box X user on 50MBit/s: complete download just under an hour. Just flown Caracas SVML to Bogatá SKBO around 2’ 40” with no problems whatsoever in the BAE146-200QC. Will have to try a glass cockpit airliner next!

They fixed the screen defaulting to full instead of windowed, increased download speeds, fixed the Asobo P-51D engine issue, seems good so far!

PC user with 13900k and 4080 running in 4k. Download went fine. Performance seems similar. Mostly smooth with a few stutters over London and on approach to Heathrow, but they seem less frequent and severe than before. Still trying to achieve the holy grail of a stutter free approach to 27L and not there yet, but landing at Gatwick was fine, so theres got to be something about either the iniBuilds scenery or London photogrammetry and how the sim loads it all on final approach.

My sim update downloaded in 10 minutes, took about 30 minutes to update the Content Manager updates. I do those one at a time though.

On Xbox series X. Previously when flying the 414AW or 310R in the default handmade airports like Lake Tahoe, Zurich or Heathrow I would get stuttering. Have tested it out after SU15 and runs smooth. Very nice.

Xbox Series X here. Update went smoothly. Flying low over Paris with a Junkers 52, full graphics, 4K screen, other players visible, live weather. Gameplay sometimes stuttered, but did not end in a crash return to "Desktop" as often as in the past.

PC user, fantastic experience. I averaged 350 mbps. I have never got over 30 in past updates. One flight in, smooth as butter!

Xbox series S user. Update all fine, did the tutorial flight EGCC/LEPA with the A320 Neo V2, all good, very smooth.

Fast and smooth update for me. I have fiber optics but sometimes the update is slow but not this time. Sim seems much smoother to me now.

I tried a bit, just loaded the plane (a320neo v2) in the Geneva airport, where i was having around 25/30 fps before the update, and now i was at 40 something or 50.. with the same settings i had before (4k, DLSS on balanced, mostly high settings on the rest of the stuff, TLOD 100 and OLD 100, Vsync on).. the update took a few seconds and the in-game updates a few minutes.. the thing that i did, wich i never did before, was fallowing the steps to install an update properly, you can find the article in some of the flight sim forums. Things like empty the community folder, delete some of the files like content.xml , delete every freeware and payware and add-ons, unplug devices like the yoke and bravo quadrant, etc.. don't know if has anything to do with the performance that i have now, but all the work was worth it! Download went well. Had the adjust graphics settings. Landings performance much better, you can almost feel the weight of the plane settle into the runway.

Hint: Join the beta the day before a sim update is released. You will then get 99% of the SU when nobody else is downloading. Then the next day the SU will be tiny. For me it was 0 bytes (identical to the last beta version).

No problems on PC. Flight over London went nice as usually.

A bit late as I was not near my sim last week, but yes today with approx. 270-290 Mbits/s, the SU 15 ran smooth and very quick.The subsequent 17 updates in the content manager however was different cook so to say. There was no broadband available I guess (🧐why?) and it took me much longer than expected but all finally well completed. No stutters or whatsoever.

Oh yaaaa.. Good things come to those who wait. 💪🕺👀. Next stop 2024 here we come🎉

east coast US, 2080ti 11900k, smoothest experience in the game so far so just for that i'm very happy!! The download itself felt pretty smooth and fast (a lot faster than 14). Not sure about the ground handling changes tho, I mostly fly the fenix so maybe it is because it has some custom handling programming? But it didn't feel much different, still kinda feels like I'm steering on ice running down the runway..kinda hard to keep center line. I did notice on one of my landings with about a 16 quartering crosswind I didn't fully straighten out just before touchdown and it like instantly almost threw me off the side of the runway and than I had a hard time controlling it back to centerline..that was kinda new? Obviously have only done just a few flights so need to play some more.. but ya.. overall I'm pretty happy, like I said the performance, how smooth it is now is really amazing!! So 9 out of 10 for me lol

Hello Huddison, The latest update went smooth for me. Right now, I mainly fly on Xbox Series S and it has seemed to have fixed the blank screens with the glass cockpit aircraft. I am looking forward to the new sim coming out later this year! The ATC for sure needs a rework!! Also, I would like to see them rework the night lighting, mainly when you view your aircraft flying at night from the outside view, I think that it is too dark! In previous versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator, I think it was better. You could see the aircraft from the outside view, and it still had a nighttime feel to it. Also, I think that the interior lighting in the cockpit is too dark at night. I have flown in small single engine aircraft at night and yes, it's dark but you can still make out the interior and of course the panel lights. Anyway, just wanted to get your views on this, love the channel!! Thx!!

I used to have the download start/stop issue, but that went away several weeks ago (pre-SU15.) Win11 Pro, 5800X3D, 3090 Ti, 64GB DDR4-3600/CL14. 4K, HDR10, DLSS, DLAA Quality. I just finished updating/testing SU15. Mostly flawless download (one CTD when updating the iniBuilds A330.) As far as the sim performance goes, I did a 2-hour flight in my Hjet in Germany (departure taxi, T/O, climb to 20,000 ft., AP NAV, manual approach and landing, arrival taxi to parking.) I can say that the sim has never been smoother. I think my FPS has dropped a bit, but I don't care. No stutters at all, at any point in the flight. Camera panning was the best it's ever been. And my FPS stayed VERY consistent throughout. I'm happy. Buildings over Stuttgart looked horrible. I don't know if I had PG on - I need to investigate this further. It's great to have the full screen issue fixed!

I'm on PC and this was my first major SU. I had 19 Gb plus an additional 16 Gb in content manager. Downloading and installing everything took a bit over an hour. After the update there were no problems with the sim, everything is running like it was. All the addons are working, too. I only did a couple short flights so far and could not see any significant improvement in performance. I basically get the same fps numbers as before. Overall I'd say this was a good experience.

No problems. Did two hours flying in my trusty Beach Barron and all silky smooth. [PC]

The game is installed on my main C drive. but it is nearly full. I believe that updates can only be done on the main drive or root folder. Is there a work around so I can completely move the game to a larger TB drive?

SU15 has been pretty good for me on XBox X! I have flown the Caribbean in the TBM, using the SLH Simulation, 10 airport bundle (very good!), and had zero stutters or glass cockpit blanking. These heavily detailed airports are exactly the sort of add-on that normally cause problems. Zell am Zee airport add-on and the Kodiak 100 was a previously unflyable combination, resulting in almost instant CTDs. My only issue was the loss of my keyboard configuration. I have been tweeking and refining this for the past year and reassigning everything really hurt.

I had a good download experience, it used my full bandwidth which was nice, both the main download, and the stuff in the content manager. I didn't get much of a chance to test things out, but I did a Vatsim flight from Dublin to Edinburgh in the Fenix A320, both airports payware and I didn't notice any significant increase in performance but I didn't notice a decrease either. I'll be on a large multiplayer group flight with TwoToneMurphy tonight, so that will be a good test to see how performance will be. So far it looks like they haven't broken anything, so that's always a win.

Serious simmer here. 5 monitor 4090 Air Manager desktop. 3x 32" 2k very smooth on ultra. Best update yet.

On my Xbox X I had a few CTD’s and black screens but I usually find that a majority of issues slowly get better a few days after an update.

Another big fail for Asobo. Flying a Piper Warrior (on my PC) between Mudgee and Bathurst, Australia at 6000 feet, I had 14 long pauses (roughly 7-11 seconds) and 8 mini-pauses (of a half-second). This was an agonising and frustrating trip, a distance of only 51 nm. What is so damned difficult in doing what one promises, in this case improve performance? They have consistently stuffed up every update that I can recall and I am very angry. I had to turn my settings way down after Update 14 and now I feel like throwing my rig and the sim (worth many thousands of dollars) in the rubbish bin! Earlier I flew a glider in Spain and although it was a little better I still got some pauses. I have noticed one RU-vidr suggesting a class action against Asobo (in reference to Update 14 and earlier updates ) ... we paid our money and, despite having amazing graphics, we are being short-changed. I have never had so much frustration with a flight sim as with this one (some disappointments yes, but nothing like this ... I have been flight simming since 1993). I have come to dread "Updates" and with valid reasons ... they promise gold and give you sand. Worse in some ways is the lack of communication from the Asobo/Microsoft team - this sim has been a frustration from time of launch. I have heard all the excuses and understand the challenges the Asobo team have faced (as they were first timers in the genre - but it isn't Microsoft's first time and they need to step up to the plate and take at least some responsibility). I detest bootlicking (I'm being polite here as I want to write something else) and while we might praise the developers it is high time they fixed the damned problems once and for all, and we read them 'the riot act'. Am I confident 2024 will be better, or will I be disappointed yet again to discover it is just the same-old-same-old mess but now on a new gaming engine? If I move my sliders to the left any more they will disappear off the monitor. If these people can''t fix the problems they make then they should quit the business.

I noticed an issue where the Logbook did not include the recently concluded flight. Here we go again. Fix somethings yet break a previously fixed bug. I will monitor this to see if it was just a one-time-fluke. As for performance, It appears to be better. Looking through the bugs-fixed, I had not noticed any, except for sluggish performance after long flights. I am still testing that, though. yesterday's flights were short, only about one hour. However, enabling developer mode and FPS showed a steady 30 FPS, even with my RTX4080 with x1440 monitor, disappointing. My Graphic settings with FXAA, DX12, are almost all Ultra: I turn off Motion Blur and Raymarched Reflections.

I'm glad you're seeing great performance. That's not the case for me unfortunately. It must be my poor CPU (ryzen R5 5600) that is holding me back. I'm getting pretty good frames on a GPU side, stable 16ms (=60fps) on a 4070TI Super, but CPU frame timings are jumping all around from 15 to as high as 35ms. Do you thing 5700X3D/5800X3D would solve the problem?

Had no issue downloading on Xbox (it was a good hour or two after release) was getting about 5-600 mb/sec

My experience has been a mixed bag. Download went fine, but load time appears to take longer. Once in the game, frame rates seem to be about 10 to 20 fps higher, but stutters are still existent for me.

I have a low end PC and SU15 has so far worked wonders. I had regular stutters at airports. But those are all gone. Sometimes a half second stutter upon getting to a new area and the same short stutter on touchdown. But that is likely just my low end system.

SU15 Did the same thing for me that SU14 did. It crashed on the Splash screen, Could not fix it using all of the How-to guides.So I opterd for the Simple Solution, windows Settings | Apps | Find FS2020 and uninstall it. That removed the app but leaves the conent intact. Then I just re-installed FS2020 App and we are off the the races... Testing it now...

Took me 30 mins on 80Mb/s. Suspect there may be some impact on VisionJet. ILS locator and GS capture not operating properly on the same airport is was working perfectly on a day previously.

Just tried first flight with the Fenix. Identical performance as previous build, complete with micro stutters and 2 second freeze approaching IniBuilds EGHI

For me, xbox user, haven't change much. I still with the same problems with avionics reseting in my Honda jet, black screens in my beautiful a300, and in the new a320, the cockpit simple frozen when I started to prepare my engine out procedure in the secundary flight plan (I had the same problem in the a310). I will check my pmdg, where the only problem I had was the atc going down, I hope this one, at least ,is sorted out. Greetings.

Not good on my XBOX. A feature that I use a lot isn't working correctly anymore. I use the AI Pilot listed under the Flight Assistant tab. My problem is that my aircraft is not landing at my arriving airport anymore. Very Frustrating! ☹☹

I did not notice any improvement on the ground handling on the DA40. What seemse better including the trim is the Cessna-172

Tried a flight from Belfast to Newcastle in the 320v2 with live weather,cloudy as usual, no stutters and smooth ,only problem i had was when i landed the rudder seemed to reverse itself when i twisted right the aircraft went left,worked fine on take off. Using 15-12400 with 16gb ram and 3060ti mix of high and ultra settings set to 4k

Had no problems downloading. But the load times are the same if not worse than before for me, and I haven't noticed much improvement except for maybe the bigger airports seem to not be stuttering much. I'm anxious to see if I experience anymore lockups. I saw a few of them running the bigger more complicated jets like the PMDG 737.

Xbox s, download went well, flew out of Nellis AFB with no lines finally!! Flew out of mindenhall RAF went well there Also only problem my outskirts of LCAP looked like WW2 blitz had arrived but when you flew over it it would clear up. No black screen yet. Some stuttering but not as bad as before, no matter I can adapt to the situation and overcome some of the BS that I’ve had to put up with. Update was smooth for me. It took about an hour for everything and load times seem faster. I had a lot fewer stutters (PC). I don’t have a frame rate monitor that I know of, so no idea whether that has changed or not.

No problems at all for me. Started out about 40 mbps - after about 10 minutes, jumped to 225 mbps, then dropped to 170 for a while, and settled in about 150 mbps. Really quick download. I DID do the thing where you rename the Community folder beforehand. I don't know how much effect that had. SO far, performance has been fine on my PC.

The smoothest update so far for me. I live in a rural area and my connection speed leaves much to be desired. One of your fellow RU-vidrs suggested that using a VPN could be beneficial and that was great advice.

Got 15 yesterday took 4hour for deluxe and regular at same time.

I have to say that I have noticed a few scenery stutters in the Vision Jet on my XBox X which I didn't get before. Strange. Still, the update went well.

I've only installed one airport but my avionics still keeps shutting off 😢 I don't get it why I'm playing on xbox x

Hi. Seems I am the odd one out here. I am on Series X and I am either doing something wrong or the update is not working. I selected the A320 v2 and planned a short flight from the mfs world map. Firstly the waypoints were not there and init showed the departure/destination spaces as blank with the route page saying.....'Discontinuity'. I proceeded to start up the aircraft and although all my selected buttons showed a highlight as I pressed them, nothing worked and froze. The clock time was frozen too. I tried 6 times with the same frustrating result. I was really looking forward to flying this aircraft. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

On Xbox s I was having problems with opening my vfr map in flight which crashed my screens in various planes not tried it after update but hope it fixes part of this

I think that the best results are for Xbox users. After a full night on my Pc, flying different countries and planes, I didn't saw big change. I hope I will find positive things after some more time on the simu...

Fast download, sim seems smooth and no stutters yet. Regarding black screens, my only experience with black screens has been with out of date liveries causing many problems. With each update it looks like liveries can and will cause problems, this along with controller presets is something to look out for.

What on Earth did I download last Thursday. 184GB 500 Files or there about's, took a good 3 hours maybe 4 and then another 2 to 3 hours to unpack in Content manager. Thankfully I have fibre into the house and was getting around 200Mbits/s ???? Haven't had a chance to run MSFS yet, been to busy.

It went so fast for me on Xbox I wasn’t sure it happened at all. I didn’t know what to do with myself.

My G1000 screens still go black, even after Sim Update 15. I'm using an Xbox Series S. What's going on here, Asobo??

Updated PC and xbox S last night. First part of PC download saw speeds over 450 Mbps. I had to manually update some of the World/City updates (eg. UK). Both PC and xbox played fine last night on brief testing. This morning, PC and I think I tried the xbox too, were ok with msfs. However, I just turned the xbox on this afternoon and it is stuck at the Dune Expansion screen. I noticed the LEDs on ethernet hub was flashing like crazy. Upon checking the router, it appears the xbox is downloading something at upto 200 Mbps. The blue progress bar has reached the end. It's been 25 minutes so far and still downloading.... Update: Finally reached main menu after 35 minutes. I checked Content Manager and all looked normal. No unwanted content added. I can only speculate SU15 was re-downloaded again? I vaguely recall on xbox last night, 7GB was downloaded via Installation Manager, and at the main menu, there was a notification the Deluxe/Premium was a background download task which I waited to complete before manually applying the two World/City updates for UK, Belgium/France/Netherlands.

Any Nvidia or in game settings (gfx or other) thats recommended to change with SU15? DX11? DX12? Vsync game vs NCP etc etc? How about rolling cache or Nvidia Cache? Should I change anyting from old recommendations?

Im on xbox, so far I tried the inibuilds a320 from an enhanced Heathrow but constant black screens, had one black screen whilst at Newark and restarted the flight (luckily I was still at the gate), some stutters but nothing too major. Sometimes I like to mess about with the fighter aircraft (mainly CJ simulations typhoon) and fly in and around London but the stuttering was horrendous, never had that problem with SU14. Currently trying out the BA 787 from Johannesburg to Cape Town and so far its decent performance wise.

I fly pmdg, the only thing this update did was to add a bug that was never there before where you have to reload the flight for the plane to be operational. Other than that I don’t see any difference, I’m so glad they are not releasing any other update soon!

I can fly one of my larger airport ad ons now. Get slight black screens.

Just tried the new 320. MCDU freezes sometimes. So not super happy with that. Looking forward to trying more stuff. I'm on Xbox X

I am afraid the new A320 V2 starts up on heading mode and can't be persuaded to go on managed mode. I've got a flightplan in the FMC, but am forced to fly the thing by hand. I tried a lot of mouse settings to be able to push pull the heading knob, but so far nothing works.

Wow! PC mostly in VR. I upgraded nvidea driver and dlssg to latest. Graphics better, stutters less, FPS increased a bit and not dropping way low as it used to. Flight smoother and clearer. I hope this bodes well for Fs2024.

4090 / 78003xd / Quest 3. Much smoother in air, far less jitters upon takeoff and landing. Grahics good, tlod good, and overall its better than su14 for me. Your milage may vary depending on hardware, connection speed, health of pc.

Same here kept down loading then went back to the beginning so I shut it down went to start up and lost options and colour on airplane went pink having a nightmare with it 😡

I have problems with MSFS crashing when trying to close the program. Plus something strange with the sound. Still tying to work it out basically when I click on another screen (3 monitors) then go back to the sim a huge increase in sound level. PC system.

Is anyone else unable to open the game now? I just get stuck on a black screen or the Xbox loading screen. Playing on PC. Installed and redownloaded game twice.

I was on beta and it had its ups and downs … but the release is butter smooth … together with latest nvidia driver. Left all settings as is - Q3 4090 virtual DT ASW 40fps quality DLSS

But has scene popping improved, I still saw instances above. To me that is a major downer and how can they be reduced? Is it CPU related or GPU? Any comments would be appreciated, thanks.

On Xbox Series X places I have had stuttering and black screens I no longer have but you can definitely see some of the scenery disappearing like they said would happen to save it from going to black screens. I did have a CTD loading in a 3rd short flight though. Overall seems pretty good though.
