"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart." -- Hebrews 4:12
This exact knife was my gateway into this lifestyle... I didn't like the long clip so I got a black bugout clip from benchmade. It makes it a lot better.
Received…not much to say but it is PERFECT and AMAZING in every way!!! My favorite EDC 😎 I am still waiting on my G10 Orange custom handles for my mini Griptilian so that may change…but the size being bigger in these handles that will be hard to beat in comparison. 😎
I have the smooth black G10. It’s not the sexiest looking knife, but super nice in the hand. My favorite auto by far. Awesome to actually daily carry. Under-rated for sure.
Agreed! Been daily carrying the exact same one for over a year now, and I have literally 0 complaints. Been the best knife i've literally ever owned. So much utility and so comfortable to carry
Great review i own one myself love it . Im an older guy and have problems with my hand do to motor cycle car crash years back, auto knives work well for me as a tool . Thanks again for the review!
I found one of these in a booth when I was a server 4-5 years ago. Just thought it looked cool tossed it around, used and abused it, now the blade is very dull. Only just got into knives and realized it’s almost $300😧 So time to sharpen it and actually take care of it😅
I'm happy when I can get 154CM. I don't use the safety on auto openers - some still install them. You and I think alike on the split arrow clip, I can live without deep carry. The knife is tuned for right hand opening just didn't hire a tuner for the left hand "snick", ha ha ha.
This CLA is my favorite Benchmade of the many that I own. I have this same version (satin blade and textured grip) that replaced my Autostryker 9101SBK that I passed down to my son. It's lighter and more compact than my Auto Presidio II and opens much faster, and the grip doesn't wear down the fabric in my pants pocket like the metal ones. It feels stiffer and fits my hand better than my Mediator 8551BK automatic (Also very fast). My Mediator is harder to deploy unless my thumb is directly over the button, so I have to use a high or forward grip on that to reliably open it - but the CLA deploy button works with any kind of hand grip on the handle. Also impressed with my Mini Boost, Mini Barrage, Mini Griptillion, and North Fork. Mini Barrage is perfect for states that don't allow an automatic. I don't even carry my Guardian Tactical Auto any more.
Best review on this knife in my opinion. Reference to Griptilian G10/skeleton construction and Bone collector black/OD green color are spot on. Jimping and deep carry cons are also valuable points made. I learned a thing or two on blade chole and lock up.
Knife collecting is catching the eye of the mainstream-which is good and bad. Recently I've been buying a lot of traditional knives. In the description of most offerings is, "never sharpened, never carried, factory edge."
“Six facets that are all a different distance from center so you can make the knife lock up wherever you want in the button travel”…could you explain this more please? does this mean you can have the blade lock up not being all the way open? Seems odd I have never heard of this.
Think interchangeable stop pins, each a slightly different diameter, but accomplished with one pin with facets each a slightly different distance from center.
@@TheApostleP oh okay I see the 6 facets now. Seems to be a more efficient facet for the blade to hit on rather than a round one…plus you can adjust them for the knife to lock up wherever you want. Thanks. Obviously I am new to this.
I'd buy one if I could. We can own them, just can't carry one. Even though we can own them, nobody will sell me one, so it's doubtful I'll ever get my hands on one unfortunately. It's to funny, but Knifecrazy also just posted a review on this knife.
I live in New York, where autos are legal with license (for hunting, trapping, or fishing). Recreational use of marijuana just became legal in the state today, but automatic knives are WAYYY too dangerous.
@@XFS540 I too live in NYS. You must be actively hunting or running your trap line in order to carry an auto. Just having the license does not allow you to edc them around town. Stupid laws with way to much gray areas. Yet effective today, we can have up to 3oz of pot on us, and that's ok, Hell you can legally kill your unborn child right up to time of delivery, and have 3 oz of pot on you while doing it, and all is good. Just don't have an auto on you at the time, lol.
I live in PA, where it is not legal to carry an automatic knife. It is legal to own or collect them. Sooner or later I will probably buy one. Anyone out there live in a state with silly knife laws?
Yep..I live in NYS, and same here. We can own one, we just can't carry it. I used to live in PA too..Philly area. I worked at the airport for USairways for 18 years. Go Eagles!
