Hong Kong is one of the leading green and sustainable finance hubs in Asia. As an international financial centre, the city is well supported by strong fundamentals and robust infrastructure to develop a green and sustainable finance ecosystem. Increasing ESG momentum could be seen in the city and among private corporations, especially with growing demand for transparency in ESG disclosures.
“Over recent years, in keeping with the global focus on ESG factors in investing, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) has enhanced its ESG disclosure requirements on issuers to better serve investors’ demands for more comprehensive ESG information about their investments.” said Mr Martin Murray, Financial Director, Swire Pacific Limited, speaking to the FSDC in a video interview.
