Finally I am posting my dorm room tour from my fall- spring freshmen year. I lived in Salley hall. In this video I gave you a tour and showed you all how I organized everything, thus why it is a little longer.

yeah living off campus will be a lot nicer. But the dorm was fun for my freshmen year!

hi do the rooms have locks? for example does room a have a lock so the members of room b can’t come in whenever?

Yes!! you will have two keys; one to get into the entire dorm and then another to get into your own personal room. the other roommates will not have access to your room if you dont want them to.

hey, sorry to bug ya but thanks for the tour, it was super helpful! i'm gonna be in salley this upcoming fall, and was just wondering if the beds HAD to be stacked as bunkbeds or whether we were allowed to bring them down and put them both on the floor? thanks.

The beds do not have to be stacked but it allows you to have more space in your room. My suite mates had theirs as single beds and it was a tight squeeze for both of them.

Chloe-are there locks on the desk anywhere like to secure a laptop in? Our son will be in Cawthon Fall 2017.

Yes, every desk that the school provides in the dorms has a locked compartment. In my dorm as you saw there was the small pull out drawer. In the other dorms there are larger ones. My friend has a side cabinet where she could put lock on it. Make sure your son brings his own lock (the school does not provide that). I wouldn't suggest bringing a safe because there is no way to anchor it to the floor and the desks are super heavy. I hoped that helped out!

Where did you get the 2 row storage thing in your room? With the canvas bins that pull out?

are all of the salley dorms set up like this?

they can be set up like this or you can take the beds apart if you want to. Bunkbeds allow for more space.

there is four, it may just be difficult to see. The desks actually held a lot more than I expected

Yes it is not required but a lot of people do stay in the dorms freshmen year because everyone is new up at school and it's an easy way to meet people
