@DrFrankenmac You might want to tell your director that FSU has the support of the Seminole Indian tribe. When the NCAA decided that tribal names were offensive, and wanted FSU to change the team names, the Seminole Indians spoke up and voiced their support.
The Prism concert features the Marching Band and other groups from the School of Music. Some of the Chiefs play in other ensembles in the concert, and dress for that group. For example, you can see the baritone players at the left wearing black, from the baritone group performance.
Cherokee High School in Marlton, New Jersey plays this during games. It usually works for schools named after Native American Tribes, like Shawnee HS or Lenape HS, etc. but idk if they play the FSU war chant.
ItsYaBoyPagan yeah I got a little worried so I told my Band director from New Milford Highschool that Waldwick was playing War chant so looked at the other side of stand at they played War chant but we beat Waldwick like a week ago and already beated Becton so we're going to MetLife stadium soon also we beat Hasbrouck heights for JV
I'm a Gator student and, naturally, a Gator fan, but I have enormous respect for the sounds these Marching Chiefs produce. For me, this is the essence of love/hate relationship.
those mellos and baritons are beastly! I'm a sax player from the Fresno State Bulldog Marching Band (the other FSU) lol and our director came from University of Florida so whenever he's having a bad day or just for a joke sometimes our band would just break out the FSU warchant just to piss him off lol. It's all in good fun though we like messin with a gator lol.
The first time i ever went to a college game was when FSU played NC this past year at home. It was amazing to see Osceola and Rengade come on the field then the planting of the spear, then the chant? Man i got chills. I am a half and half fan. Half Clemson cause im from the Carolinas, but the Noles? Come on! THe heart and passiona nd tradition makes me a fan of them. WHo cares about trophies cause if you aint got a history, you aint got nothin...
@ursulamajor2000 You have no idea how awesome it is. I have been fortunate to be able to go once and to get tickets is unheard of. One can not explain the feel of being there.
Gala is a turkish football club and this sound is used to motivate the player on the pitch and ssurely to let the opposite team frighten. GOOSE PIMPLES!...
Ever Since our high school has been playing this at halftime, timeouts, touchdowns our teams hasnt lost since and they started playing this in 2004,, yea thats rite 72-0 since they started playing this!
Hi FSU im Kaitlynn a band member from Toms river high school south. Our playing on the stands was almost completely taken away. The refs said because we were too loud we are not allowed to play when were on defence and if we do play its 15 yrds pennilty towards OUR team. we too play seminol. so because of you guys we are SINGING seminol tonight. You guys are amazing FSU in my dream colloage wish us luck
If this does not get your blood flowing; then you need to check your pulse!!! Born and raised in Bama but I'm FSU through and through!!! Bleed Garnett and Gold!!!
it isn't the fight song. there is a whole different fight song. this is the war chant. but that being said, i love it. being at doak with 80,000 other people singing along, there's nothing else like it.
fsu's marching band is beast; but i have one question: do they march slide trombones?? i'm thinking bout going to fsu and marching with them so i need to know if i should brush up on my baritone skills..please comment back and thnx
I'm an OSU fan but the War Chant is such a powerful tune that I can't help but love it. My band used to play this at every game. But one overly PC person complained to my director that it was "racist". What's worse is that he caved and stopped using it. C'mon people! It's not intended to offend anyone or incite anti-Native-American sentiment. It's just an innocent stand tune intended to pump up the fans and players.
