FTC Pro Wrestling Referee Action Figure Unboxing & Review! 

When I was on Twitter yesterday, I saw the comparison of the ftc referee next jazwares and Mattel figures. I was disappointed to see that he looks like a child next to Mattel and jazwares figures.

Leave it to FTC to mess up the most important aspect of this figure, the scale. Though I will say that in my playing days the scale being a little off wouldn’t have mattered to me. I used to use the referee figure that came with the WCW Toybiz Kevin Nash, and that thing was tiny compared to my other wrestling figures.

“Got a haircut that he can set his watch to….” That popped me, brother.

Cool idea. I would love to get a ref figure. However this guy would look tiny next to my Andre the Giant, my Brock Lesnar, or my Undertaker. Even if I stood him next to Chyna or Charlotte, he would look small. So yeah, size is the one thing holding me back from buying him.

He is the perfect size to make the wrestlers look massive

I'll stick with adding a referee shirt to various wrestlers. I have 3 options: cloth one from Ringside Collectibles, rubbery plastic sleeveless one from a Mattel accessory pack, and a black and white striped shirt for a Ken doll (barbie) that I cut off the bottom of to make the shirt shorter. This last one I can use to allow a Neca Turtle be a ref.

The ref looks more like an AEW unrivaled/unmatched figure which looks really cool and interesting to be honest.

This reminds me of the Transformers R.E.D. line where they were just too small to fit in nicely with regular Transformers. If he had fit in with Elites then I would have probably picked him up. As it is I am going to pass. I hope they can fix the scaling issue and make it blend in with other lines better. I agree they will have a unique offering to the wrestling figure market if they can get it right.

This figure is the exact same height as a Mattel Rey Mysterio, who is 5'6" (the same height as WWE referee Charles Robinson). If anything, the Aubrey Edwards figure is the one out of scale, because she's supposed to only be 5'7".

i think maybe they tried to make the ref smaller than the wrestlers because , well you know why . But they went a little TOO SMALL lol ! I dig it though , but I have the same gripe .

In those action pic's it looks like that ref is breakdancing like he just watched those old breakin movie's from the 1980s

I think it will work with boss fight figures

It is what it is, but not for me , and I just don't like it. That scale is just too far off and kills any interest I would have had in it. I do need to get an Aubrey Edwards with ring though.

I bought this just received it yesterday and my reaction is exactly what yours were. If they were to go back to the drawing board improve the scale, add interchangeable accessories it would be 100 times more better. As it stands the figure is a huge disappointment which is a shame, because it does has good articulation (minus the lack of ankle), good sculpt, but that is where the good stops with this figure. Too tiny and probably not the correct scale they went with.

Amazon has a ref action figure that talks when you squeeze his legs 5 phrases that guy is small the talking version fits so much better from Amazon they actually have a ring announcer as well that comes with table or by him self that talks as well

I’m okay with the ref being short. Interviewers and refs are supposed to be smaller than the wrestlers themselves.

Good guess, Aubrey is about 5' 7" so the ref figure would be about 5' 5" when put in real scale, likely he is 6 inch scale where the WWE and AEW figures tend to be 7 inch scale.

Yeah, a lot of good things with this figure but too small. He isn't just shorter than Aubrey. She's bigger and thicker in the body where it looks like they're in a different scale, not that he's just a short guy. Oh well.

Welp looks like the ref might just be really short, lmao. Still I do agree the scale is a bummer.

I rather pay up for Danny Davis BAF...the scale is too small. Great idea but not execution.

Such a shame but unsurprising. I really don't like FTC, all I have are 4 of the Cornettes. With one being the announcer Jim and everything about that announcer set just doesn't work. The chairs are a joke, the monitors and headsets don't fit, Jim can't really sit, glasses don't stay on but he can hold the racket so there is that. I was also disappointed with the Macho announce table but I was able to swap out the monitors with the FTC ones and kinda make it work. I have both booths together with JR and Cornette in the FTC booth and Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan (Heenan Family HOF White Bobby) and the old Jakks Rocky series Brent Musburger on the New Generation Arena table. I think I have JCS Bobby and Gorilla announcers, so I gotta go look for them.

Aperenty it's called action figures toy company Amazon has them for sale I'm in ont Canada I just got mine today the ref takes small batteries like pen lazers 3 small batteries you pull out a small pecie of plastic when you take him of box squeeze his legs he talks I have the anoucer coming
