Here are some figures on the washing machine motors. At 500 RPM it would have been fed 200Hz power. At 1000 RPM it would have been fed 400 Hz power. In the case of the Samsung versions, full speed is 1300 RPM so would be in the 500Hz range. And you are correct. If it was a true zero cogging alternator/generator it could have been driven directly off the Smartdrive motor. A true zero cogging unit would only have the friction of the bearings and any wind resistance. In fact, a true zero cogging unit could be driven by a Bedini motor. He is discounting the back EMF that it is going to produce which will get bigger as more load is put on it. Because he only has one rotor he does not have enough poles and magnets to achieve that. Even Smartdrives do not have that as they are only one rotor and 36 poles or 42 poles. that puts them at 10 degrees apart. It would take 10+ rotors and stators to get them to be non-cogging. Not sure if at one degree apart they would be so it might take 20 so that they were only 1/2 degree apart to get them there. Newer ones have even less poles. You'll notice also the FTC's/realracecom.com's videos do not allow comments. Just like Morin's. Sure sign that they want no debate. Which usually is a sign of a scam. If a Smartdrive motor is driven by another motor of the same type directly, its output HZ will exactly match the input HZ. Driven at 150 RPM one will produce 100 Watts of output. 1 Amp at 100 Volts DC. That stands to reason as at 1300 RPM the motor would be drawing about 900 Watts. At 1000 RPM you can get over 300 volts DC out of a Smartdrive motor without a load.
I'm very interested in the TI controller - I need 1800 rpm on a direct drive set up. This looks promising. I would have preferred to have what Gerard Morin had promised for a controller but no word from him. Hope to be working with you Jason.

This would be the perfect platform for that kind of development, it will identify and give you total controll over any bldc motor, asynchronous ac magnet motors, perfect for speeding up development in prototyping
that’s a bad deal to not get what you paid for with this realracecom - supposed Zero Cogging, FTC guy false advertising on his part - thanks for sharing - I trust that the unselfish price and share that you have graciously given will save many others from falling victim to this RU-vid realracecom guy Please provide more follow up if this guy does make this right .......
@@dornebanks5986 FTC claims that it is a 30KW unit at 600 Volts. Here you see proof that at 800 RPM on the generator shaft that it won't even get to 600 Volts no load. If you look at the FTC videos, they show one unit at 931 RPM and they say is good for 15KW. But yet they show in their test at that RPM and the 17 ohm load he says he has on it it is only producing 1300 watts. And it only got to 154.1 Volts. In other word, a Hyper Drive capable unit it isn't, except for the hype part.
In all fairness, Joe Shepard from FTC has had to license his production to other plants. If defective, it’s likely poor quality controls from the manufacturer
