Don't let it bother you. I have another RU-vid channel where I cover technical aspects of drones and drone-related equipment. I get my share of idiots. They're always people who have never made a proper video to share with the public. People need to understand that many of us take valuable time out of our lives to do this for free. We just want to share information with others and help other people out. I have a LOT of information on my drone channel that can't be found anywhere else. When people make stupid comments, I just block them and they will never have access to that information again.
You can make the scope scan between 3-60sec if you want but it's not live all the time like the ftdx3000..you can set it for which part of the band you want though.20khz or whole band..hope this helps.
My radio has latest firmware so haven't needed to update it yet. As for HRD or other software i haven't looked into that side yet..hope you enjoy the radio.
can you always make the left part of the scope scan more often or make it always live so you can see the part of the band constantly ? It seem odd that it just scan once... maybe I did miss that part in your clip...
You have to do a "master reset" when you installed this FFT-1 and after you do a firmware update....But be aware...Many people tell me that own one of these after doing the firmware update that their analog meter is very sluggish and or very jittery and not working correctly.
I must need some practice with my FT 1200 as I never get CW sounding like that it's either too high or low pitched and it decodes nothing! Play time needed me thinks
Great Video, I'm looking at this Radio and the FTDX3000 as the FTDX1200 with FFT-1 and SCU-17 options cost around $2600 in Australia and the FTDX3000 costs $3200 with no options. Both with 5 year warranty from one supplier, but the FTDX3000 will not be available until approx early August 2014. Will I wait for the 3000 or buy the 1200? Don't both Radios have Voice recorders as My FT920 has them? I have resonant antennas so the built in antenna tuner in either Radio will be OK. After watching videos and reading Owners comments about the FTDX1200.. It seems to be a great Radio plus it would save Me about A$600.. even with the two options fitted. I love My FT920 which I have had since new and would never sell , but I need the noise reduction of the 1200 or 3000 due to hearing loss plus the band scope etc would be nice to have, to check the bands quickly, and to check and adjust the Tx and Rx audio etc easily. So did you wait for 3000 or bought 1200 ? I already start with my new hobby so I think I have a really problem . I'm about to buy my first radio . Yaesu ft 857 , Icom 7200 or ftdx 1200 . Point is , I have no idea which one is better for beginner. All the best in new 2015 year .
My FFT-1 and DVS-6 are not scheduled to arrive until next week. Have you completed the the main firmware and TFT update posted on the Yaesu website? I did mine on Friday, with just the RS232 connection, and it was very simple. I don't know why everyone thinks that the SCU-17 is required for doing the software upgrade. Also, do you know if anyone has any control software similar to HRD for the rig? I contacted HRD, but they replied it is in the works, but no date planned as of yet.
