Nice job, Chuck! I'd use words like 'exceptional' and 'outstanding' when describing your videos. I never think 'iffy' and 'marginal', lol. Thanks for sharing the install. 73 de Bill
did the separation cable from the 8800 work on the FTM-500? I have a 7900 and I am thinking about this upgrade too. But I really don't want to have to run new wires.
Nice install…. For my FTM 400 mic. I bought a magnetic vent phone holder at Walmart c. 12 bucks. I didn’t use the round plate that goes on the phone. I had a square magnetic mic holder like you can buy at a truck stop. I put that on the vent mount. Works great and it has never fell off, yet. Keep those videos coming… 73
@@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures I have a mono-band 2m radio currently in the vehicle. Its a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe. I stuck the radio inside the center armrest. There was just enough room in the cavernous center hatch to hold the radio. I made a small aluminum tray so that the front of the radio would stick up just enough so I can read the digits. Although... since its inside the center arm rest, the front panel points toward the windshield. Makes it a bit hard to read the digits. But at least with armrest down, you cant even tell the radio is there except for the DC power wires going into the armrest. Have you tried bluetooth with the FTM-500 yet? theres the BT-10 thats supposed to work with it
@@dan_in_sd No I haven't tried it yet. I had a bunch of videos I had to do , but now I'm free of those. First is a Moxon build with maybe some 500 mixed in. I nay try to hook it to my Motorcycle helmet just to see if it will hook up.
