I'm 55 and I've been a Fuel fan since day one and although I think all of their songs are amazing, this one in particular is my favorite, They were so under-appreciated. Who else is listening and who else loves Sunburn?
Im 33 from the UK. I was first made aware of fuel when I was 16. I always periodically listen to their tracks. Most song seem timeless to me. Sometimes its nice to see the old skool 90's videos ;)
I've always loved Fuel! I lost some of my CD's so buying this again right now on Amazon. I sooo miss these guys, they were a fucking incredible band!!!I I don't know why they didn't get the notoriety they deserved but his voice, the killer guitar & drums are seriously right up there w/ the best of the best. Fuck the G n R tour!! I wouldn't pay to see that when I've seen the original twice. I WOULD pay to see these guys any day of the week!!!!
I'm 15 and i've been listening to fuel since the 3rd grade because my father worked with them when they formed in harrisburg pa near where I live. I totally agree that they are under appreciated. They music is amazing I love this type of music.
@@BCaldwell Yup. And Brett brought life to them. Interesting chemistry right? One of my favorite bands even with the line up changes through the years.
I'm hip best times I ever had in all of my life .these guys right there with me .with out there songs .I don't think those times would be what they are to me today .hope that made sense
Interesting story, Fuel is from the Harrisburg area in PA which is where I'm from. My father was the manager of a mediaplay when I was younger and he helped Fuel get gigs and somewhat managed a few of their performances. If you look at the acknowledgements on this album, you'll see my fathers name, Stewart Rhodes (though they spelled his last name wrong haha). I always use that as a good bar story haha
+Alaina Rhodes ohhXD hahahah understood, well it's a pity u don't have them as contact,it'd be cool.... but it's already really great u have them in ur history! very lucky girl^^
The sky was dark this morning Not a bird in the trees And silence hung suspicious and anxious Like a blanket covered scream And you were gone You were not there for me And I cursed the sky and begged the sun to Fall all over me This life's not living, baby Living ain't free If I can't find my way back to me Let the sun fall down over me Let the sun fall down All my friends are searching Quiet, desperately Look into their eyes you'll see the faithless crying Save me, save me, save me And what are they to feel And who are they to be And what am I to do with, do with me, but let the sun Fall all over me This life's not living, baby Living ain't free If I can't find my way back to me Let the sun fall down over me Let the sun fall down Until my eyes cry out 'Til my head is free from doubt 'Til my lungs sigh right out 'Til I'm wiser Let the sun Fall all over me This life's not living, baby Living ain't free If I can't find my way back to me Let the sun fall down over me Let the sun fall down
This song is deep and spiritual. You got to get it. If you get it you get it. If he don't he don't. But it's still a great song either way but I get it. Amen in Jesus name❤❤❤
I literally just hit 63 yrs old.. child of 70's AM radio an FM Stero Album rock ...80's Hair..then Grunge...but Fuel was a notch above what was being played on mainstream at that time...never got the reg they should have...still play them on the long routes I drive for work...memories
One of my favorites solos ever.... Beautiful ❤ We crossed eachothers in paris, at the Olympia, in 1997 or 1998 don't remember, we talk just a few minutes in the front of the Olympia before the show. A show with Silverchair 😊 Teen souvenirs, 43 today
Carl Bell is a criminally underrated songwriter/guitarist. I learned so many neat chord voicings from these guys when I was starting out learning guitar.
A friend of mine from within the signed music industry said the same of Carl. I thought his music was great because of its simplicity and clever configuration. My friend told me Carl plays some very complex and quite genius music outside of what he gave us with Fuel. I would love to hear more of it! Fuel is one of my favorite bands of all times
@@OlsenJustin I was lucky enough to get to meet Carl at a meet and greet before the original lineup disbanded. He was a genuinely nice guy who talked shop with me (as a fellow guitar player). Did not try to big time me and was just extremely genuine. Brett on the other hand....
Sarah Darling gets murdered. Stab 3 is shut down. Ghostface finds Sidney. Joe has legs and is patrolling Jennifer's wrap party. And this groovy ass song comes on and mellows everything out. The year 2000 was a good time for me.
"And silence hung suspicious and anxious like a blanket covered scream," what an amazing lyric! All these years later I still love this song and can listen to it over and over again.
Maybe part of it is me being nostalgic for my teenage years, but there's no denying this is great music. It's hard finding great lyricists these days. That's why I often just go back to classic rock/alt like The Doors, The Beatles, and Simon and Garfunkel, Ben Howard is a good modern artist. I love his lyrics for "Keep Your Head Up."
Man I hadn’t heard this song in so long… I was watching all the “Scream” movies and when I got to “Scream 3”, they played the very first part of this song and omg the memories started flooding in. So crazy how a song can take you back in time in an instant like that 🖤🤟🏻
This literally just happened to us! My husband and I are watching Scream 3, and he paused it to have me look this song up after hearing one line of the song.
I remember when Fuel was first featured on 97.9X locals only. The same station that introduced Breaking Benjamin! WBSX in Hazelton, PA still playing them today ❤
Sunburn is a awesome late 90’s album (it’s such a interesting debut that has a 90’s Grunge sound mixed with a bar band feel They don’t get nearly enough respect as a legit Rock band
So im 24, was introduced to fuel through mom who ironically is a massive soundgarden fan but i digress 3 points! 1. Fuel has been my favorite band since i heard bittersweet 2. Im pretty brett made me realize i was gay 3. I never get tired of their music and own every album on cd, and that shit got me through iraq even got a tatt that says drag the waters from hemorhage
Just saw them tonight in Vegas! And this song made me cry. Absolutely gorgeous. Brett hasn’t aged a day by the way! Still every bit as gorgeous and talented as day one! God bless you guys. ❤️💜💗
I hope he comes back to Australia, I was too young to go to the video hits show... it was 18+ and I was like 11 and probably the biggest fan out of anyone, but unfortunately I have missed out seeing a lot of my favourite bands and singers live, so these days, whenever I see a band I like is touring, I get VIP tickets straight up, not getting to see Fuel and Linkin Park live are some of my bigger regrets in life
This played at my nephews funeral in 2022. He was 17, soon to be 18. He was so full of life and always had the sun shining in his eyes, face, and heart. He continues to be a huge inspiration to his entire family and more. His funeral was like that of a Rockstars, so full and so many wonderful times and memories, for a young man he sure lived big. This song will always be a bitter sweet memory of mine❤
Miss these guys so much ... and I never got to see them perform! This song has been my favorite since I first heard it ... nearly twenty years ago! Boy do I miss these guys....
Fuel is iso underrated it is so criminal..... and personally this song, doesn't get the credit it righteously deserves.. like with bad day, Innocent etc
Sometimes late at night, I make a hot cup of tea, look out the window at the rain, and listen to Fuel. It soothes my mind…..to whoever may be reading I wish you peace…. 😊
Love a lot of the comments on such music. I don’t have anything special to say other than I’m still in high school and I wish mainstream music was still like this
I tend to play this song in later Summer and Fall. It just hits and takes me back to some of the best times of my life as a teenager. Crusing in my car, hanging with friends and all the time in the world to figure it out later.
So I met this band many years ago w my 5 yr old.. sitting on daddys back .. singing every word by heart.. this was at a Staples center when they were in their prime! They signed me cd and shook my babys hand.. my baby is 25 now.. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST BANDS EVER!!! 🎉🎉
Welp I’m in a 90s binge with no end in sight...by far my favorite Fuel song. What happened to musics in the 2000s and on? Very few and far between do you find what we had from tons of bands in my childhood.
2018 and still not a million views. This is one of the best songs in the world people! Pull your head's outta your asses and listen to some enlightening beautiful music.
I heard them on the radio the other day and couldn’t get the tune out of my head for a week. I’m a major Rush fan and get their songs stuck in my head all the time. Something about this guys voice and the mashing guitar chords that just buzz in my head and linger for a long time afterwards. Ive been doing a Fuel marathon bringing back some memories of my younger days when I lived in Pittsburgh listening to 99X on the radio. I especially love this tune because of the really cool guitar and solo.
Was in a relationship for 16 years 2 beautiful kids then hearts broke💔then another 4 years with another woman 3 years after the break up then more hearts broken now I’m a single dad who feels like no one knows me and most days honestly guys I would love the sun to fall down on me I’m so lost and this song has kept me hanging on by a thread I love fuel for making this song 😭❤️I have my babies and that is enough for me still my heart is in a trillion pieces I don’t even know why I’m writting this I guess I’m away it’s made me feel a little bit better😟
48 yr old single dad to two boys here. They lost their mom early this year and I lost my best friend. Time can be rough . Nights are the hardest but that's when I do most of my music searching. Music never let's me down. We can all find like minded people here. Keep your head , keep pushing, cry when you need to , we are always here.
saw them in a little club in a high rise in downtown Portland OR, just before they broke up. They put on a great show even though you could feel feel the animosity between the lead guitarist and singer.
Years ago, they played a show in Buffalo, NY, and all of the guys hung out with fans afterwords, except for the drummer, who stayed in the trailer the whole time. He ended up quitting the band about a month later.
I’m in love with him and I’m not even sure what I’m going to say 1:09 and I’m 62 years old but I don’t give a damn how much time he spends on his stuff but I love rap devil and all of them every song is so beautiful and I love him till I die and talented artist I love everything that he puts out is awesome but I’m hoping he will find me before I die I want to go at least go to concerts and I want to be in the front row. Stay strong and keep on doing what you do I’m fascinated by you. I’m so happy that I got to txt to him so much love to him and I’m 62 years old but his music makes me so happy and sad and mostly makes me happy because he is so talented and fine and he deserves all the happiness in the world. Much love
Back when this song was on the radio, I would play it before heading off to school every morning just so it would be stuck in my head all day. I’d give anything to go back to those days.
I discover this music when I was on my travel while listening silver chair then after that I’m shock when this music play next on my I tune I automatically add to my playlist
Ashwin I'm sitting in my mom's Chevy Cruze outside Ft. Gibson( home of Teddy Lehman-football player that won 2 super bowls 1 with Farve 1 with Aaron Rogers) Cherokee Casino. I was watching NWA Women's Wrestling. Then I turned over here to the Fuel song Sunburn because I need a little music. I love your comment and I totally understand, but I still don't have a car. I'll probably get me one within a year. Cross your fingers and pray for me. Keep commenting.😋🧸🌈💜💚❤️💛🧡
I love the whole entire Sunburn album. It was one of the stand out songs along with Shimmer, Hideaway, Bittersweet, and It’s Come To This. Even Walk The Sky, though it was added later to the deluxe version of the album. So fortunate I got to see this entire album played live a few years ago. It was awesome.
Great great band for sure! I never seen them either but now I have the chance to!! This tues coming up they are playing on one of the stages at the Iowa state fair 5 miles from me!! So.... I'm soooo there!! Can't keep me from being there... no way!! So lucky for this last chance!! Yeeees!!!!
The sky was dark this morning Not a bird in the trees Silence hung suspicious and anxious Like a blanket covered scream You were gone You were not there for me And I cursed the sky And begged the sun to fall all over me This life's not living, if living ain't free And if I can't find my way back to me Let the sun fall down over me Let the sun fall down All my friends are searching Quiet, desperately Look into their eyes you'll see the faithless crying Save me, save me, save me And what are they to feel? Who are they to be? What am I to do with, do with me? Just let the sun fall all over me This life's not living, if living ain't free And if I can't find my way back to me Let the sun fall down over me Let the sun fall down 'Til my eyes are cried out 'Til my head is free from doubt 'Til my lungs sigh right out 'Til I'm wiser Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah Oh, let the sun fall all over me This life's not living, living ain't free And if I can't find my way back to me Let the sun fall down Let the sun fall all over me This life's not living baby, living ain't free And if I can't find my way back to me Let the sun fall down over me Let the sun fall down over me Let the sun fall down over me Let the sun fall down over me facebook.com/lvngubrthlss
Brett should be as well-known as Jagger. He's an amazing vocalist and Fuel has always been a favorite. It's just killer hard rock to the core and the lyrics sung by Brett just make you wanna rock out! Great driving music!
