24:23 "In this plant every foreign hire has to be matched by 4 Nigerians, in an attempt to build skills and capacity in the local population. ", that alone makes Dangote a true Nigerian hero, an African hero! I don't care about what some embittered Nigerians, out there to smear the great man, are saying.

Some people insult Dangote and say successive governments in Nigeria hand over the Nigerian economy to this man on a plate. The question people should ask themselves is; is Dangote the first man or woman to get favours from the Nigerian government? And those that did, what did they do with the opportunities they had? They got oil black and oil lifted contracts, got the money and deposited the money in foreign bank accounts to the detriment of the Nigerian economy and it's people. They use the money to buy choice houses in different prime locations of the world. The money deposited in those foreign accounts are used by those banks to lend to their citizens and oil their own economies whilst our own economy and citizens suffer. That's exactly what's been happening. However, Dangote has used the opportunities he has to the corridor of power to make money that he has been investing in the Nigerian economy because he believes in Nigeria. Many businessmen and women have been emulating this real son of the soil. Only the stupid ones with no brains are still ferrying monies mostly stolen out of the economy.

Building a refinery is now very classical and require no additional technology development. everything has been done decades ago by others. just copy it and paste and it need no brain. it might interest you to know that those manning the technical aspect of this plant are foreigners. Almost all the nigerians working here provide mostly the needed muscle and not the brains proving again the stupidity of our government not developing capacity through efficient educational curricula. it is shameful that a country like nigeria whose gdp is 95% oil and gas generated is building a refinery through a private person in 2021.

.You feel proud watching one of Africa's biggest problem being celebrated? This man was the sole importer of cement in nigeria and now his cement cost over $9 per 50kg bag while the cost around the rest of the world is less than $4. He has deep ties with all the corrupt government that has enslaved the nigerian people since the days of military rule. Nigeria has 4 refineries that corruption in govt has crippled and now all of a sudden this same man is building a private refinery to monopolize the oil production and then make a huge profit from hiking the retail price to poor Nigerians. There is nothing to celebrate here. This is corruption 101 being celebrated

Some politicians are the ones that only going to benefit from it. The country have been producing crude oil for years, but the citizens pays so much at pump to fill their car. In other oil producing countries petrol seem to be very cheap for the consumers, but in Nigeria their making the lives of their citizens miserable. Dangote refinery is just for some elites with self interest investment. What Nigerians need is 24/7 electricity by investing in solar power, windmills and nuclear power plants that’s what can bring foreign investment back to the country like it was in the 70s, 80s and early 90s.

@@ogasontop The biggest problem in the country right now is the nonchalant attitudes of the people and extreme corruption. People go into politics to make money and not to serve the people that put them in office instead they abuse the same people. I don’t just see any future in Nigeria. The country is falling apart and their requesting for western help. The country have been fighting terrorist for the past 12 years and yet the terrorists are becoming stronger and stronger. That’s a total madness. Military bases are being overpowered by some fractions of the Nigerian military who have joined hands with the terrorist. Politicians are also sponsoring some of this terrorist and none of them have been mentioned nor names to the public because their playing ethnicity games. The northern politicians are our major problems their so deadly and ready to kill has many Nigerians if care is not taken. We have a leader that never for once visited any victim of terrorist, but yet can invite repentance Boko Haram terrorist to Aso rock with his AGF. They know who they are and their the ones sponsoring them. The only hope for Nigeria is to be divided. The northern part of the country is a setback.

The country is now the breeding ground for terrorism, kidnapping, extortion, ritual killings and political armed terrorist organisations. All sort is happening Nigeria while some bunch of useless politicians are sitting at Abuja making billions for nothing. I just believe civil war is imminent in Nigeria. It’s about time people fight for their right. The country is never going to work as one nation. This is just British created country for their own personal gains and not for the citizens of the country. Whenever Nigeria is ruled by northerners we are setbacks for another 30 years and that’s what the current illiterate Fulani president is doing to the economy. A leader suffering from Alzheimer’s, he sat down in Aso rock while Nigerians are being lynched by his fellow Fulani tribe coming from neighbouring countries like Niger republic where he originally comes from and Mali and Chad.

@@omobaoni let’s even assume his wealth is stolen,he’s building a refinery that could damn near bankrupt him if things should go wrong, betting everything he has for something that would benefit so many and already is considering how much he must be paying in salaries alone. Others have chosen to buy houses around the world and build their own lavish castles with 20 car garages, and those are the least of their atrocities. I cannot blame anyone for having reservations about any African with money, for decades Africans have plundered their people like no other, but I think at least Dangote deserves to be given some grace for prioritising such a project when many of his peers with far less are living life in a far more self centred manner.
