Exquisite pair of shoes, frankly gobsmacked over the quality and execution and details of the shoes. The RTW from this shoemaker also look awesome as well. Thank you for reviewing this brand.
Thank you much. I was hesitant to review such a high end pair as it won't appeal to a majority but sometimes it's nice to see what a maker is capable of too when they let loose. I will look to review their RTW line sometime in the future since that will suit most people's needs...and they still look excellent too!
fair point and well said. I wish they fit you are beautifully as they looked. If I was able to interact in person with a company that makes such a brilliant product I would no doubt consider it money well spent. The reason I’m so keen on Bridlen is that I had the opportunity to meet Affan from Bridlen and try the Rui last which turned out to be an excellent fit. I ended up having tailoring done on Savile Row in large part to not getting quite the fit and cloth I preferred from the Far East, even with excellent measurements it’s a dodgy prospect. Shirts I’ve had good luck with, and now shoes, but for tailoring, give me a tailor I can shake hands with and go through the bunches. Enjoy your videos, cheers.
Thanks very much. Definitely an incredible pair. They are a bit snug for me. I am a UK 7.5 but size down to 7 for many brands but the 7 here is a little tight. Hoping they will break in to be a great fit.
I really appreciate it. It's the same for me too. I discover these great brands out there through social media that I had never heard of and feel they deserve more recognition...I'm happy to help get the word out.
Beautiful shoes, looks like an incredible make. The issue of course is fit, one can own a beautiful shoe that doesn’t fit but, to wear a shoe it must fit. I’m reluctant to order from Far East makers without being able to try the last/ check the size. I recently saw Bridlen at the NY super trunk show, tried a last and size that fit, so I ordered with confidence. I got them and they they look and feel great. If you can’t try the last and see the make in person it’s an expensive crap shoot.
This is true and sadly this pair did not fit me. Luckily I was able to find them a new home. You can usually re-sell shoes and recoup a bit portion of your money but not all of course. There is indeed a gamble when there is no retail location.
I think Vass is hand lasted and hand welted and machine stitched. Great shoes and I have a few pairs. I would have to check with both Vass and Fugashin to see where hand work ends and machine work begins. Most Handmade shoes still machine stitch the uppers.
Sorry I can't speak to that for sure. They told me fully hand made except for the upper stitching but of course you could be correct. Maybe they will reply or I can ask them specifically about the heel.
