Ya luckily I was hanging out with punk kids back then (in college), one of my friends turned me on to this....I loved it and played it over and over as soon as I heard it
I am a patient boy I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait My time, water down a drain Everybody's moving Everybody's moving Everybody's moving, moving, moving, moving Please don't leave me to remain In the waiting room I don't want the news I cannot use it I don't want the news I won't live by it Sitting outside of town Everybody's always down Tell me why? Because they can't get up Come on and get up Come on and get up But I don't sit idly by I'm planning a big surprise I'm gonna fight for what I wanna be And I won't make the same mistakes ('cause I know) Because I know how much time that wastes (and function) Function is the key To the waiting room I don't want the news I cannot use it I don't want the news I won't live by it Sitting outside of town Everybody's always down Tell me why? Because they can't get up Come on and get up Up from the waiting room Sitting in the waiting room (ah) Sitting in the waiting room (ah) Sitting in the waiting room (ah) Sitting in the waiting room (tell me why) Because they can't get up
It popped up on my feed. I think it did to everyone else too. Haven't heard waiting room in a long time so I played it, and thoroughly enjoyed it! The mystery of the RU-vid algorithm. I'm not complaining.
I'm 50 this year but I'm still a patient boy. I was at Fugazi's penultimate live show and I'm waiting for them to come back like I'm a dog next to his owner's grave.
@@thedukeofchortlebury9124 Ian MacKaye was, we don't know about the rest of the band...Ian MacKaye said 'straight edge' was his own personal philosophy, he never intended it to become a movement
@@aaof-d-mio-fv2fb It's not 1980s styles. I lived through both, and this is pure 1990s post-HC/punk/skate wear from the era. Disagree if you want, but there is simply no way this was 1988. No one back then dressed the way this crowd dresses here.
I never got to experience this or any of the other scenes of the past. I went to a punk festival back in 2010 and it was full of stereotypical Hipsters (beards and thick rimmed glasses) There wasn’t a single electric guitar. It was all acoustic folk punk. You weren’t even allowed to mosh because they were scared of lawsuits.
@@aaof-d-mio-fv2fbthat's true , I don't like anime either, i just found this picture cool back then when i was 16-17 year old, i don't know shit about anime. Lol
You HAVE to be trolling, but sadly after the Trump years I've learned there are so many gullible people out there that somehow see Richie rich as "punk rock" all because he wants to break things. They're convinced he ran for office to change things -- rather than it being a giant PR stunt to boost his brand, except he unexpectedly won. I get it (sort of), in 2016 he claimed he wanted to destroy the status quo -- but supporting a crook who was born a millionaire and never showed an OUNCE of compassion for the working-class and puts his name in gold on everything... THAT is your guy? This man has FLEECED his supporters for cash with endless grifts (Trump University? Trump NFT trading cards? Trump Bibles, etc). It's beyond parody. If you wrote him as the villain in a movie script, the studio would reject it for being too on the nose, a caricature of a sleaze-bag. This dude isn't allowed to run charities anymore because he was pocketing the money.... but yeah ... he cares about the working class right? Forget the criminal charges and sexual assaults, attempted overthrowing of the 2020 election, the added 1.5 TRILLION DOLAR tax give away to the ultra rich that was all added to the debt, or the worst mishandling of Covid by any leader on EARTH that killed an unnecessary half million more people because he made masking and vaccines a political issue and test of loyalty to him ... let's overlook those minor blemishes. At what point do his supporters not clue in to the fact that he's just trying to separate their money from them? And his determination to seek office again is to get himself out of charges -- since he will again 100% place loyalists in his justice department, rather than people who umm like ... serve the people. Anyone with an ounce of street smarts can tell Trump is a con-artist and sounds like a grade 7 ad-libbing a book report for a book he never read... it's all about his ego, all about the optics of his presidency on TV. And yet these poor rubes listen to him bitch and complain at his rallies about "how badly he's treated" and they think "yep ... he's fighting for ME". Much like the fixed income grannies who send their last dollar to televangelists that claim Jesus wants them to have a third private jet, these people deserve everything they've asked for, absolute fools. But the fact that there are punk-rockers who are under the maga spell is so embarrassing I want to crawl inside out.
@@wellandy Ya, like punks would support a money grubbing capitalist pig like Trump...Trump represents everything true punks detested....problem is a lot of right wingers and Neo-Nazis were attracted to punk back then...mostly b/c they could shave their heads, get Fk'd up, and beat up minorities, gays and hippies
