I m using xt3 and shoot bracketing in three simulations at once... one with leica look, one black and white, and the third I forgot. but your sony presets are really great Because I m thinking of switching to full frame, and sony with nice presets could be an opinion!
As a Fuji shooter, I appreciate that you made a video regarding this wonderful Fujifilm film simulation. Classic Negative is my favourite film sim and I almost shoot portraits and moments using this.

I wish I could give this video two thumbs up. I've always liked the color palette of Leica and fujifilm, but can't afford one and the others eco system/ inventory just isn't wide enough for me, but the images always have this cinematic / nostalgic / magazine-esque look to them.

Classic neg is easily my new favorite from fuji and I must say you made my switch from fuji to sony very painless! I would like to see your rendition of the OG Classic Chrome and Across.

Bro i had used most of the Presets from VSCO, Mastinlabs, RNI etc ... And your presets are matching with them.. even though every Presets has their own slight colour changes and styles.. Also one more thing, u are the only man giving it for free. Hats off to u broo🩵
Just got my Sony A6400 and these presets were just what I was looking for to start out and tinkering with 🙌🏼 Classic Neg in particular looked really good! Thank you 🫶🏼
I used to shoot fuji and this was one of the profiles I never got a chance to use (I had an XT3), I've moved on to the Sony a7iv, I can't wait to check this out
Recently move to sony from fujifilm x-h1 for the last 6 years. Big missing on the sony is the color. And i try to emulate classic chrome colors to my sony raw and the result is pretty satisfied. And you emulate the claasic neg is something very very nice bro. Good work! Thank you so much for share !
I can completely understand, but I think you’ll find you can push Sony colors potentially a bit further than Fujifilm. The starting point isn’t always as great, but it’s easy to get somewhere great with Sony! Hope the emulations help 😀
on a sony a7R iii it works amazing, now i feel like editing all my old photos, as a wedding photographer using fuji its great to have those ''fuji colors'' back with a better sensor in terms of mpx, sharpness and range dynamic... You are a genius, THANK YOU! NOTE: Having a preset like ''velvia'' and ''classic chrome'' would be the best!
Color grading is like playing a piano. There are so many talented wo/men out there who can do those like magic and these talents are things that I admire but something I cannot do. Thank you for sharing :)
I’m still very manual in that I approach every shooting with a fresh look, play around and cope/paste changes between photos. Maybe there’s a level of it I don’t get, but my changes are mostly not crazy and the small changes in light and perspective make me change so much that I don’t really see the advantages of getting myself into that rather complicated game. It’s nice to see how this seems to work in your example and I’m curious to experiment more. Maybe it’s just the weird RU-vid ad vibe I get when think about presets…
I totally get it! I also tend to tweak every photo but do think presets can be a good baseline, or an easy way to look at a bunch of different styles quickly to help find a good “starting point.” It’s taken me a lot of time to agree there is some value to them… I also don’t love the “ad vibe” I get when I think about presets 😂 hopefully this one’s just useful to play with!
@@TheOtherSamMallory Definitelly! I use CaptureOne, so not sure I can use the preset. I like your approach, though, and am now curious again to play with some presets. I am very curious how you tinkered with the style to fit the Fuji's output. Maybe playing around with S-curves is all there is to it, but I always think it is interesting to see other people's though processes in more detail, as there are so many implicit and hidden things that are difficult to break down in simple lists and hence missing from all the "five things to crush your photography skills"-approaches.
Check the link in the description, I've now taken a swing at Capture One "Styles"... Capture One behaves a bit differently than Lightroom so they're a bit less well structured than the Lightroom versions but hopefully still fun to play with 😎

Crazy, I talked about that this week with some friends. Most of them are Fuji users and I've tried to copy the style with some Fuji Like Preset. Awesome Sam, love your Preset and thanks you've shared it with us!
Looks great, makes me less worried about complaints on Sony color and shows that you can achieve anything with raw files. Makes me more motivated to upgrade to Sony as I have been pondering
dude i have a fuji x100v and a a7siii, and yes its not perfect BUUUT its really accurate and looks very nice, ill keep making photos with the fuji, but for those who make photos with Sony it could be a nice option, congrats.

Can we add this preset to the Sony camera itself, like how Fuji has inbuilt presets? I know Sony allows you to import LUTS for videos, but can it be done with photos as well? Lovely video btw. Thanks!

I am aiming for simple and straightforward -- shoot RAW, add the preset, done! If you want a bonus, you can change your Creative Look (Not to Picture Profile) to FL, this way your previews in camera will look closer to the end Classic Negative result but not actually impact the RAW 👍

It tends to be a lit less contrast generally, yes. I unfortunately wasn’t able to tweak it enough to change how it reacts in different lighting scenarios to create an exact match.

I'm excited to try this. Is there a way to get this preset as DNG so I can use it on Lightroom mobile? I don't use Lightroom on Desktop which is needed to use XMP file presets.
Like the look on my iPhone. I don’t have Lightroom, but if I get it I’ll try it. Not asking for you to do it, but can film simulations be set up in Sony cameras to output JPEGS?
Not as such... there are the Creative Color profiles that can be tweaked a bit on some of the newer Sony Cameras but it's not as much control as something like lightroom!
