This was a great tear down guide. I have a Finepix F31fd that is pretty much identical internally. I used this guide to open it up and find/clean the speck of dust that has been stuck on the sensor for almost 15 years. It would show up as a black spot on all my pictures. It is finally gone and I wil definitely be using my camera more often now.
Hey, i have one of these and for some reason its not turning on. Im only able to click on the “play” button in the back and it goes into gallery mode, but the camera itself doesn’t turn on when i press power. Any advice ?
I've ripped apart a few Fuji's and some old canon s400's and a sony or two. I have a little collection of CCD's . These are great camera's. The F30 & 31fd are probably the best to come out of that decade . Fujifilm was definitely a leader in the compact camera department. They also changed the industry by increasing ISO to 3200 and creating Face Detection !
Hey, i don't know if you're gonna read this or not but I'm going for it, so my parents got this camera before i was born, and I'm here now since i found it out of battery so i tried taking the battery out, but the battery's stuck, any tips?
Amazing how they put it together and working when you did the tear down. Great engineering better mfg of it and a fairly low price for it when you put engineering and mfg and marketing in to the picture wondering what the ROI was must have been substantial + all the little things sold separately. As always always good video thanks for the insight of this really makes you think.
Those blades are not a shutter - they form the iris diaphragm to control the aperture. AFAIK there is no shutter - the CCD is constantly exposed to light - hence the live view on the display!
Ya know? Discovering with you on this camera teardown. What year was this camera manufactured. Its a 19 century camera design? But, i wonder in how many stages it took for that manufacturer to complete Assembly for that Camera. That always made me wonder🤔 when i took one apart in my lifetime.
Fine memories of this one (no pun intended). Drove across the city the night before a trip to find the only camera store that was open an hour later than the rest. Sadly, I lost it in the breakup.
Hey, I've been getting a focus error on mine where the lens can't focus and won't retract when turned off. Is it possible to fix the motor or do you have any tips?
