yes, they grow like weeds! I love them but they are unfortunately extremely flammable and we are in a high fire risk area.

Are you comparing the Pentax at f4 to the voitlander at 1.4?

The Voigtländer at 1.4 is barely useable, really dreamy with strong CA, when I compare it to the Pentax it would be at about the same f stop, either 2.8 or 4. Hope that helps.

⁠ sorry yes of course, the 55 is f4 . I will be doing more comparisons and the Pentax 55 will be strongly featured, I did not expect to like it that much, the Nikons will get less time as I go on. Still a little on the fence about the Voigtländer.

More suggestions for the future: be specific about which lens you’re talking about. For example, Nikon makes a ton of lenses in most of these focal lengths. I half assumed you were talking about an adapted enlarging lens! Do you have access to a Nikon 58 1.4g?

Thank you, will keep that in mind! In my experience the variations with these older lenses even when comparing 2 of the "same" can provide different results. I could do this until the end of time! right now I am drifting away from 35mm lenses and will try to look a little more into Medium Format glass. @@hautehussey
