Fuji is all about setting up your camera using dials and knobs to criticise them for using dials is moronic. The retro look and feel is the main reason I bought one.

It doesn't seem at all like he is criticizing them for it; it seems more like he is just reminding you of the facts. He literally says, "I don't like it, some of you may like it." Personally, it is why I went to Fuji when I stopped making money with photos. My Canon gear was never enjoyable to use for me, and I wanted photography to be enjoyable again in the way my Nikon film stuff was. Of course, now Sony is putting aperture rings on lenses.....no regrets though, because Sony has decided either you don't make money from photos and will be happy with a mediocre lens or you do and sky is the limit on cost.

Most Fuji users like their little dials because it makes them look like a "proper" photographer. Manually setting up their camera because they have the skill and ability to do so. And on the other hand, they bitch and moan because their autofoucs is slow. It is all a pretense. The reason Fuji needed a new CEO was because Fuji needed rescuing from it's own users and hopefully the X-H2s and X-H2 will do that.

Review some of their stellar primes! That's where the Fuji X-series really shines. The system in my opinion was kind of built around small, but fast primes with excellent image quality. The 56mm 1.2, 35mm 1.4, 23mm 1.4 and 16mm 1.4 are all highly touted among Fuji shooters. Not to mention their super small and lightweight f/2 primes (and the bigger 90mm f/2). Shooting a Fuji camera with any one of those compact, but fast primes really is a great shooting experience.

There is a rule when you're reviewing Fuji gear that you can't make disparaging remarks about the aperture ring. That's one of the best features of the Fuji system. The one lens we always throw shade at is the 27mm... not because it takes crappy photos, but because it doesn't have an aperture ring.

Fuji has pretty explicitly stated that they aren't planning on doing a full frame system. They are going to be releasing a new medium format body, the GFX 50R, sometime in the future though.

Thank you! So many people complain about the lack of Aperture rings on lenses from Sigma for the Fooj. As well as complain about the PASM dial on the xH2s... Coming from Nikon, I always used back button focus, and the front and rear dials to adjust shutter and aperture. The xH2s has 7 custom slots on that PASM dial, as well. Way better, although less "aesthetically pleasing", I suppose.

You might want to mention that that there are 1.4X and 2.0X teleconverters that work with this lens. This would extend the reach of the stock lens. It works well for me, but can get a little soft, on the 2X, at the long end. So I back it off a little and seems pretty sharp. Thanks for the humor, keep shakin' the desiccant and the rant ;)

Like seeing Fuji presence since I'm a Fuji shooter. I'll probably stick with it unless Fuji really enhances its GFX system's "everyday" usability and I get a bunch of money. Nikon could possibly pull me away with their new system if it's really good I may keep my Fuji stuff and invest slowly into the Nikon. The experience of shooting for me is so much better than I've had with the others so it will be hard to get me to switch. Love dials.

No issues with autofocus on the XT-3. This lens is versatile & “workhorse.” I used the Canon 70-200mm f2.8 lens for over 15years with no issues. I would place the Fuji 50-140mm lens in the same category.

the lenses OIS does not work in conjunction with the cameras OIS. Whatever systems fuji sees as newer or more capable is the one that takes over that OIS duty.

Hi, When you turn off the IS on the lens, the IBIS is also turned of, And Fuji will NOT come with a Fullframe camera.

Maybe someone had already mentioned this, but the crop factor is 1.5x for Fuji X cameras, so it's 75-210 in 35mm equivalent focal length. Does anyone other than Canon have a 1.6x crop factor?

Why does Fuji make you ‘do the math’ to get the true focal length equivalent from a lens that ISNT a full frame lens? Do you also have to take the F-stop and times it by 1.5 to get the true light amount? Canon has EF-S lenses that you didn’t need to do that with.

Sadly, mine has auto focus issues. I get that AF! in an orange triangle telling me it can not perform AF. Could be a setting somewhere or I have a bad lens.

I just bought 50-140mm new and I’m not sure that sound right or not when my camera off I lift the camera up and down I hear the noise clicking in the lens but when I turn the camera on that noise is gone. Is it normal? Anyone know please help thanks .

They will never come out with a FF camera. They might build FF lenses for their MF system and use the 35mm mode but a FF chip will never be used by Fuji.

They are skipping it in favor of the even bigger Medium Format for their flagship camera. So yeah, they would be stupid to fragment their lens lineup with another, third sensor size.

It just doesn't make sense for them to even try getting into FF, that market is dominated by Sony in mirrorless and soon Canon and Nikon are joining the FF mirrorless fray. They're smart to staying with crop sensor for keeping it light, and medium format for their top of the line...cheapest medium format out in the market I believe, can't wait for the rumoured rangefinder medium format (xpro3??)

If you are in the pit, two very good lenses are 56mm 1.2 and he 16mm 1.4 which are both optically excellent, although Af on 56mm is not so fast, on an X-T2 at least.

For sports, the Sony A7III looks like a beauty at the price point and would be very good for both that and concert (low light) work. The D850 is of course an excellent camera, but you have the DSLR size/ weight factor to consider. I use my Fuji for sports at the moment and get great results, but I am sure the Sony has more 'keepers' in this genre.

Reason behind pricing is the lens is made for the APS-C mount of the Fuji X series cameras. So it is roughly a 70-200 f/4.

The technical F-Stop of this lens is F2.8. Mounted on a 1.5 crop sensor camera its F4.2 in every aspect.

Robert Falconer No. Lets say with these setting on a FF camera, F2.8, ISO 100 and 1/100, you are properly exposed. You will need to compensate by roughly 1 stop in ISO (ISO 200) or Shutter speed (1/50) (or more Light) to get the same exposure on an APSC body and on top of that the DOF will look like F4. You 100% need to apply the crop factor to the aperture, in every aspect, not just the DOF.

I normally shoot concerts with my Fuji X body mounted with the following fast prime lenses: 135mm f/2 Zeiss 56mm f/1.2 Fujinon 23mm f/1.4 Fujinon 16mm f/1.4 Fujinon 12mm f/2 Rokinon The first field test I performed with my new Fiji 50-140mm f/2.8 lens was at a classical music concert. I was surprised that at the same f/stop and same focal length, the image quality of the Fuji lens was equal to the Zeiss.

Fuji will never go full frame they have apsc and medium format or cropped medium format and this apsc system is very close to full frame in terms of quality and usability so the Fuji system is not for everyone it’s for a specific kind of photographers.

You will get better DoF (bokeh) on the Tamron with FF, but both have f2.8 light gathering.

I P DHH not in close distance scenario.The tamarin is like 130mm while the Fuji hours out to 210 and that means a lot in image compression which I turn influences bokeh.
