The problem with auto iso is that even when you set min SS to a certain value it still changes according to the light.. sometimes it sets SS to crazy low levels where you start getting blurry images. is this a bug? Is there any setting to fix this?
Hey there i have had my fuji xt-4 for quite some time now, and never had any problems, but now i cant adjust my iso freely. The dial is set to "C" which it always was and i was able to control the ISO completely freely but all of a sudden i can only choose between ISOa1 a2 and a3. I dont know how to return to completly free ISO choice. i would appreciate any support!
Hello. I do have a question. How do you set ISO to command dial (front rolling) button? I can't find ISO dial settings (A) on my XT4, which I should put to command.
Very helpful summary. Thank you. If you choose to use auto ISO, how do you know what ISO the camera has picked for you in a particular shot ? I only see the maximum ISO SETTING displayed in the view finder
Thanks! I do have an overview video of the settings here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H6-uL_QYwPw.html but it is probably due for an update to show each option in a separate video with some samples. Thanks for the suggestion!
Scott as i mentioned other day, re the Auto settings which i use more in the last month, sometimes even if you have a minimum shutter speed set, the camera sometimes will ignore and override it seems. Maybe more in low light conditions.
From what I understand the camera may may select shutter speeds slower than the minimum shutter speed in Auto if taking pictures would be underexposed.
I bought xt4 recently and I am finding I have to shoot higher ISO compared to my Nikon cameras. Even on bright days it seems to want to shoot ISO 640 where reading the scene I would expect 200 or 320 maybe. I am starting to question if there is a problem with the camera. I was trying auto but it was dropping the shutter too slow even though I had shutter speed at min 200 in auto menu. I will set up three cameras on tripods and do a test and see what the difference is between them. I love the camera in many ways but the high ISO and the files have me questioning if I bought the right camera. I was in two minds Z6 II or XT4. Have you heard if anyone else is having problems with ISO. thank you
Hey Terry thanks for watching! You are the first person to mention this in a comment. I haven't had any issues with my xt4 shooting at too high of an ISO. If you have been moving some of the settings around you may want to try resetting the stills options to default to see if that makes any difference. I've messed around with the focus settings and things weren't working quite right for me and a reset did the trick. It might work for you too. Let me know how it goes!
I think / suspect you have DR400 set ; also try DR100 in case it is set to DRauto... this forced ISO to bump up to 640 in order to create the higher dynamic range.... I hope that makes sense
@@pandoraefretum thanks for the help but i am shooting on DR100. When i get a chance i will try a couple of things to see if i can solve the problem. thanks again and stay safe
When shooting video with zebras set to 90%, I always get lines on various objects that are overexposed when I leave it on auto ISO. Then, when I try to control the exposure with a VND the IS0 just raises itself upward immediately after I calm blown out areas with the filter. Is there a way to set a max iso on auto so this doesn't happen? Is the auto iso basically just attending to what it deems most important in your shot and inevitably there will be isolated areas of your shot that get blown out as a result?
Hi John - I'm not overly savvy on the video functions so hopefully someone reading your comment more experienced with video will be able to help you out. Thanks for watching!
Great video.. How do you access ISOs below 160 and above 12800? I’ve messed around with all the settings for an embarrassing amount of time and have never been able to..
In the SHOOTING SETTING menu go to - ISO AUTO SETTING then choose maximum sensitivity. You will then be able to access extended ISO via the command dial.
@@ScottDawson I did; it makes no difference. I actually tried this last night and again after your reply. I've had this camera for almost a year now and not once has it shown me the option of going below 160 or above 12800. So weird (and frustrating) when I hear people talk about extended ISO and there's no way for me to get to it. Thanks for the replies, Scott.
@@ScottDawson Hah! Well, waddya know! Just when I've given up, I switched from electronic shutter to mechanical+electronic, and voila! Makes no sense to me, but I can chill now. I'm not even going to use the extended range, but I just want to know that mine has it!
Hey Scott, I am wondering is there any possibility to use Auto ISO settings in video mode, as it's shown for photography? It drives me nuts a bit, you can choose low ISO value which is irrelevant, but high value available are 25600 and 51200, which is insane tbh. Thanks in advance.
Hi, Scott. I just found you on RU-vid and am impressed with your content and style of presentation. Question- I set my xt4 to manual shutter speed and aperture with auto iso (max of 1600 ). When I use exposure compensation, the iso setting does not appear to change on the lcd until I half press the shutter button. Is there any setting which would allow me to see the change in iso as I use the exposure comp button? Thanks!
