Chris I was randomly listening to photography podcasts and found you on one. I had no idea you were an award winning food photographer.

Thank you for your loads of nice and helpful videos. As I was looking for my next second camera which should have a special and unique style, you brought me to the idea to buy the X-E2. Which I did and really fell in love with. Soon, I will get the TTArtisan 23mm f1.4 for it. I'm pretty sure, this will be a great combination. Futhermore, I absolutely like you new website - well done! :)

Thanks so much - very kind of you! Love the X-E2 👏👏

Hello Timo. Curiously I did exact the same thing like you. He influenced me in buying the X-E2 and the TTartisan 23 f1.4. The way to shoot remembers me to the time when I was shooting with my Canon A1 and 50 f1.2. It is pure fun.

I'd be curious to see the TT 35/.95 vs the TT 35/1.4 on the Xt1.

Thanks for this. I used the Fujifilm 35mm f/1.4 for 90% of my VOGUE shoot and the other image was the 56mm. The 35 is one of my faves. I need autofocus for my work. I cannot rely on manual focus.

Hi Chris, thanks for the review! To come to simliar price tags I´d like your opinion on the TTartisan 35mm vs. the Fuji XC35 (that I love as it is the perfect snapshot lense for me)
@ChrisOrange
@ChrisOrange Год назад
I’ve had both lenses and both are great. I was amazed at how good the fujifilm XC35 was when I bought it, as it was only £150, which makes it cheaper than the TTARTISAN lens. On that basis, the Fujifilm lens would win.

I have the TTartisan 35mm and 50mm f0.95. They are beautiful. I am considering exchanging for the fuji 35mm f2 and the fuji 60mm macro f2.4. Reasons ? You're right the bokeh wide open is gorgeous. The quality of the metal is lovely. Also i shoot manual and its a nice experience focusing. / Negatives for me. 1. The weight of the lens. A little bit too heavy for me. 2. Also just wanting that extra degree of sharpness in the centre wide open. 3 minimum focusing distance if i recall is 0.5m, i want to get a little bit closer sometimes.

I have some gear to trade and the initial offer would cover the cost of a Fuji 35mm f1.4. I'm not a video type person so the noisy autofocus is not an issue. Why I am interested in this lens is background separation. I have a 27mm xc lens and an 18-55 lens and the f 2.8 is fairly average seperation. So is the degree of separation from 1.4 to 0.9 a quantum leap, or is the low light performance more significant? I like your no bullshit style of presentation btw 😊

One thing I would note regarding the TT Artisans lens is that you can get similar or better performance for less money buying some cool vintage lenses. I have two I especially like, a Canon FD 135mm f3.6 and a Pentax 50mm f1.7. Both make some really great images adapted to my XT-3.

So, given your comments inclusion of an adapter.. how much additional cost is the adapter also?
@charliejg
@charliejg Год назад
@@Stop-All-War Depends what kind, but I've gotten two for two systems from K & F Concepts each for around $20.00 US. Both have held up really well. Both lenses were about the same price, around $30.00 US.

Buy the Fujinon 35mm used, then it is fantastic value. Very happy with it 🤩👍

my issue with the cheaper lenses is not the sharpness or the distortion but rather the colours. they always seem a bit too washed out. so they're only really useful for BW imo

Use a more saturated colour profile/settings

Ok. You have both of them. But, if you haven't the 35mm fuji, would you consider to buy him?
@ChrisOrange
@ChrisOrange Год назад
If it didn't have either, I'd buy the TTArtisan lens as I'm not bothered by AF and I like the look the TTArtisan lens gives me, especially at 0.95. It's not perfect by any means, but for me that's what makes it great.

@@ChrisOrange thank you for your answer Chris. One more thing, I'm not bothered by the AF too, but what about your preference in terms of contrast and colors between those two lenses?
