Sold my 18F2 and 35F1.4 and got the 33F1.4. Best decision I made! 33F1.4 and 90F2 are covering all my needs.

I'm happy with my XC35mm f/2. Aperture is controlled by the camera wheel but that's OK you get used to it.

Got this lens used for 100 EUR. Use this on your XT5 and you never miss a shot. It’s not a joke, none of my other lenses can compete in this case which is ridiculous because there are lenses which costs me 6 times the amount of this lens.

After owning the XF 35 1.4, I chose the 35 F2. It was just more responsive on the older Fuji bodies, and really like the overall rendering, the handling as well as weather-resistance. I mostly use larger lenses, so its nice to have one of these as your smaller grab-n-go lens. I did keep one of the older Fuji lenses, which is the 60mm F2.4. It is a favourite focal length but also brings some of that 'magic' to its rendering that I miss from the 35 1.4.

This week I came back to my Fuji 33 mm f1.4 after 4 months of using 18 mm f1.4 exclusively. And once again I can say that this is a true benchmark lens for the Fuji system. I don't know if 30 mm 2.8 is any close to it, but you should give the 33 a chance one day. I wouldn't be getting a 35 mm 1.4 or 30 2.8 as a first lens, because the first one is not future proof (let's face it), and the second is more of a niche option. The 35 mm f2 seems the best option available, but if one is 100% about the focal length and has a lot of money, the 33 1.4 is the best option Fuji can offer today.

Just for reference... on an APSC (FUJI) as a guide Shooting at 30mm at F/2.8 at a focus distance of 10cm Depth of field is 0.1cm (making some assumptions on viewing distance) shooting at 35mm at F/1.4 at a focus distance of 28cm Depth of field is 0.3cm (making some assumptions on viewing distance) Shooting at 35mm at F/2.0 at a focus distance of 35cm Depth of field is 0.8cm (making some assumptions on viewing distance) with any of these lenses shooting at minimum focus distance at maximum aperture next to nothing is in focus for reference the distance between the tip of the nose and the back of the head on an adult is approx. 25-30cm) at a more reasonable (for portraiture 2m distance) the 30mm @F/2.8 has a DOF of 53cm 35mm @F/1.4 has a DOF of 19cm 35mm @F/2.0 has a DOF of 27cm Assumptions are mad on viewing distances and quality of Eyesite. also, if it has to be a 35mmish as a first lens, I'd seriously consider the XC 35mm F/2.0 it lacks the build quality and aperture ring but is same glass as the XF 35 F/2.0 for £160 For a lens line up now (I own the 35mm F/1.4 and no intention of selling it) if I wanted a 30-35mm lens on Fuji I would buy the 30mm F/2.8 Macro Knowing I have a 23mm F/1.4 and a 56mm F/1.4 for low light and shallow DOF but I don't have a macro lens so it could do dual purpose. But money not a factor, if I wanted 1 lens and I didn't care about macro, I'd go for the 33mm F/1.4, I shot for years pretty much just using the 35mm F/1.4, so I know I could use just the 33mm F/1.4 now

My preferred full frame for street is Sony a7c, or for a tilt screen Sony A7riii-A (not so good AF as A7c but still good enough). Also Nikon z5, z6 or ZF could be a choice but you are limited regarding the lenses. On Sony you have Sigma lenses that are great for street with amazing image quality. Also you have Samyang very light lenses, Sony and so on...

@@Tudor_Mateescu Thanks, I already have the Sony A7III R, but it's quite heavy, I use it in the studio for fashion photography, instead I was always thinking of a Sony A7 CII, what do you think? Have you already tried it?

@@MilleIdeAlex i didn't try it but for sure is good :) I have Sony A7C. Definitely I would go for a7cii - smaller, lighter, more portable then A7riii-A... That yes, it's at the limit for street photography 😀
