Re-uploaded this (a second time 😩) episode due to audio issues after setting up my new mic incorrectly, sorry about that! Big thanks to all of you who messaged/commented to point out the issue 🙌🏼
I'm picking this one up new today at half price. Super excited. I have the 16mm f.4, and the 35mm f1.4 is next. All these new lenses coming out I'm getting the older ones when they go on sale. 😊
yeah this lens absolutely crushes. love it so much. i typically am not a 50 shooter on aps-c but there is something about how this lens renders light and faces that i just love
Good comparison, thank you! Nice to see we share some of the same stamping grounds 🙂 I've often used the 50mm f2 for street photography and am almost certainly getting this lens after my research.
Thanks man, really liked this video. I'm thinking of getting back into street photography, and was eyeing up this lens. When I shot street in the past (er, 20 years ago), I was shooting with zooms, and around 90mm was my favourite focal length. Your video reminded me why.
Dear Eren, there are many good English street photographers, and I also really like the content and photos on your channel. It's funny, that for a long time I too only used the XF35 1.4 for street photography. I've also owned the XF56 1.2 for a while, and I'm totally addicted to this look. What you describe, quality, appearance, I can confirm 100%. Good times for you on the streets of the world ;-)) Best regards from Germany, Dirk
Just found your channel, amazing! ❤ Photos and your style. Some photos making me want to go watch blade runner😂 I had x-s10 and now xt5, can't express how much better focusing on the xt5 is. Example, hardest was my toddlers kids w f/eye, x-s10 hit rate was low % wide open, with xt5 high % in focus.
Great Video and photos, as always, Eren. Pleased you sorted out the audio issue, new mic looks good and sounds good too. I love the 56mm focal length for the same reasons you mention in the video, I picked up the 56 1.4 sigma lens for my Sony A6400 a few years ago.
Great video, I loved it! I happen to have both new 23 and 56 mm lenses from Fujifilm. Maybe it's just me, but they both seem evenly fast. I have no problem using it for event photography.
Oh didn’t know that. During all occasions I had quiet good lightning and even used a flash once. I’ll try to push the lens to it’s limits next time :-)
Nice video. I agree with you about shooting with a longer lens, which seems to be looked down upon by a lot of street photographers. I usually use a Canon 85 mm f/2 or Olympus 45 mm f/1.8 (which is a 90 mm when converted to full frame) depending on which camera system I am using. I agree, the 85 -90 mm focal length gives you different opportunities and different types of shots which I prefer.
Ah cool: great shots! Yeah: a bit weird...I bought this lens for portraits, and then covid happened. Ended up using it mostly for street. And it's really cool at that.
I fully agree with you concerning focal length. I love shooting with the 2,0/50mm but thinking absolut a faster lens. That’s where the 56mm comes in - unfortunately I never tested it so far.
It is kind of a heavy lens to carry around on the street, noticeably so when compared to the f1.4 lenses. But I'm with you -- I've really enjoyed the pictures I've taken from the 56mm f1.2
@@erenjam Thanks Eren. To be honest, I somehow missed the segment where you talked about your presets the first time round. I'm always on the lookout for something that will give me the look and feel of the Leica M11, especially in camera, without the pricetag of the M11. Your prsets look like they might be a good starting point. Although I I didn't like what they were doing to the skin tones (a comon issue with some old films too). And the muted pastels that Leica has weren't there either. But, as I said, your presets miught be a very good place to start.
Love your style man. One question: Fuji has two 56mm 1.2 lenses. Which one is the right one from your video 1) XF56mmF1.2 R WR or 2) XF56mmF1.2 R APD ? thanks...
Both are great options, it comes down to what type of photography you'er going to do. If you'll be shooting in the rain and are a faster pace photographer then go for the 50, the 56 is slower, worse AF but the images will look nicer, not to say the 50mm doesn't take great looking photos!
