Good job! Going to pick one up. Have a whole bunch of instant cameras and only wished that Fuji never stopped making the pack film. However, I am glad Fujifilm is still keeping the integral film and cameras going. Wished they will produce a better quality wide film camera!
I've made the decision after watching a few reviews including your review that I really want this camera. I'm going to the US in a few years. I don't have a digital camera anymore but I do use my phone for Instagram etc. The Evo was made for those that want to share pictures online and print pics off from their phone to. I don't care about 5megapixel as my phone is 64 megapixels. I will be using both. Plus I will be meeting my friend of 15 years who I haven't met in person and being able to take a picture and print it in person will be a memory for both of us which I really want. I used to have a digital camera back in 2011, it was a Sony touch screen digital camera it was good for the time but since I'm more of a Instagram blogger and my dog has his own account, this camera I think will be the best thing. I have a PS vita and took a picture of myself and Alyson Hannigan (Buffy and how I met your mother) photo that was professionally done and printed (picture of the picture) and I actually love the old feel. I also love using filters etc. So I think this camera is 100% for me. I will be ordering one probably next month after I've finished paying off my PS5. ALSO here in AUS I have found the mini Evo is actually cheaper than the cheapest digital camera. The cheapest digital camera is $450 AUD. And the mini Evo is $299.
Thank you for the review. I purchased the Mini 40 about a day ago (Mini 11 basically) and the Instax Mini Link 2 printer. The reason is sometimes I want the instant image and the unknown and also the printer was on sale. I feel the Evo is a lot more portable than carrying 2 machines sometimes when out and about. Do you feel the photos of Evo are too crisp?? I like that the Instax analog photos have that not too crisp effect otherwise it's just a digital camera with a printer to me.. Thank you
Hello Cris, thank you for a much neeeded review. May I know what were the lens dial and filter settings for the pictures you printed out of your kid ? Also was it natural mode or rich mode print?
Does anyone who own evo know if the photo comes out super clear and has a “crisp” effect, because I want the photos to look not too crisp and look kinda vintage. Thanks!
Thanks max, the Evo very much is like a polaroid or any other instax from Fuji. The files are 5 megapixels which is plenty for what you'll need to print on such a photo paper and the results tend to be vintage looking due to it being developed on a film. It's actually quite pleasing and it doesnt look "modern and super sharp" if that's what you're concerned about. Take care
