"save up and have the $2500 " - except if you want the "limited edition" with a red sticker that goes on the release button, pluuuuussss the "limited" writing on the body cap and golden letters on the black box. That will cost 3500. Only 15 made. They are already sold out on Ebay.
The Japanese must have changed the definition of kaizen to mean over promise, under deliver and let your users fight light rabid rats in a garbage bag. 😂 I still might get it if they release with the 18f2 II WR though.
Reminds me of X100 line. Was on waiting list for X100V one year. Fuji discontinued manufacturing that body. They didn’t honor the orders they received. Preordered. The VI on the 1st day. Heard there are 1,000,000 orders worldwide. After waiting 10 weeks I discontinued my order. I’m not waiting a year for that camera. I bought a Sony A7C. This is the game we play. Fuji can dishonor customers’s orders. The customers can discontinue our orders. Who ins this game? Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Great news! My first Fuji was an XE1. Now the biggest hope is that they go back to the XE3 functionality and don't strip it back. I want a tiny Xpro without the ovf!
The X-E4 is my favorite Camera of all time and my wishes for the X-E5 are the 40mpx sensor, weather sealing, ibis and the design should be exactly like the X-E4. For all Fuji cameras I would love to see markers for different aspect ratios like 21:9, 4:3 etc.
This was great news! I currently run 2 X-E3 and I love them. If X-E5 gets released I will absolutely put an order for one. Don't consider that as an upgrade, rather as an reinforcement. I will not stop using my X-E3.
This is great news Patrick! I started with the XE2 in 2014 and still own the XE2S and XE3. Form factor, ability to change lenses, and overall value have always been the draws for me with the XE line. But like you, I use my XT now more because of its better autofocus. Your assessment, "that's Fujifilm these days" is spot on. I'm afraid our once beloved underdog camera company is slowly going the way of Apple--big and impersonal.
I thought it was more directed at the fact they keep messing up their releases eg the inability to satisfy x100v and vi orders and seemingly the xe4 too! Sometimes seems like theyre not that interested in selling cameras
This would be a great second X-mount camera! When I need to be light, when I do not need the full capabilities of my XT4, I could go out with that small and light camera, and still make use of my lenses.
My first Fuji camera was a XE-3, I still have it along with my XT-5. I like it’s form factor and with the XF27mm its a great everyday point n shoot. For the XE-5, I’d like to see the return of the front grip along with the same flip screen on the XE-4, improved AF of course and a bigger sensor but not necessarily 40MP. Also a larger EVF would be nice.
Lots of positive comments about the XE range. For a long time the gentle Faziel Westcott only used his XE4. He appeared to be very happy with it. But will people pick this over the XT5? Is it purely to do with being a rangefinder style fan or more than that?
I'm happy to hear this news/rumor. I came late to the X-E line (first an X-E4 which I traded up to an X-E3) after having all kinds of Fujifilm cameras since the X100. It makes a good standalone and also a good backup for my X-T5s. I hope Fujifilm goes back to the ergonomics and better controls of the earlier models -- kinda how, after the X-T4, Fujifilm returned to its roots with the X-T5. I think that one of the reasons that many X-T and X-Pro users didn't "notice" the X-E line as that Fujifilm seemed to position it as a camera for beginners and casual users. 2025? No worries.
Maybe not WR, unless they're planning to axe the X-Pro line altogether; will also make it less affordable, X-E line is supposed to be a cheaper X-Pro alternative.
Ive owned xpro1, xt1, xt2, xt20, and now the xe4 + kipon manual 35mm lens. For me, the xe4 combination is the best ever. I think that fuji should continue with the inexpensive, technically simplistic, and powerful concept of this line. Not to compete with the xt50, but to be marketed as a minimalist photographer's tool.
Started with an X-E2 which was great, and went to X-E3's ( a pair of them when shooting jobs). X-E3 is a very capable camera with more than enough features. Will still be curious to see what the X-E5 will be about. I just ordered an X30 as I wanted something small for when I don't want to bring a variety of lenses...I know it's ancient tech now....but still quite capable. Wish Fuji would bring this line back with a larger sensor...it would probably be an instant hit
Hi Patrick, please make more pressure on Fuji about the AF-performance : after using 8 Fujis since a while as a pro- I'm thinking on switching the system....Thanks for your work!
Happy to hear that the X-E line will be continued. However, the way Fujifilm starves the market by selling basically 3 X-series bodies, people will crave ANY Fujifilm body, and I fear when the time comes, the X-E5 will be in an even worse condition than the X100VI is now, demand-wise.
Thanks! The good news is, knowing the X-E line is associated with the X-Pro line, we should have a new X-Pro next year or earlier. Another reason to celebrate. Cheers
X-E2S is the last Fuji camera I own. I still very much enjoy shooting with it. I hope for X-E5 with a similar body style with flash or Xpro4. These the only two camera that would peak my interest coming back.
I just really hope they put the MCS focus mode dial back on the front. Would also be cool to see ISO integrated into the shutter speed dial like on the X100 series.
Too true. It certainly looks like they were trying to dumb down the X-E4 by slicing off the focus mode switch. One option for photographers could have been to program the command dial, but since FujiFilm eliminated the second command dial on the X-E4 (really dumb idea) that option didn't really exist. Forcing you to go to a menu to do what you could do with one finger is silliness.
@@MusicByAngels But additional grip makes the case bulkier, I want the factory case as small as possible, but with a grip. Seeing Fuji improved X-T50 grip compared to X-T30, it is not impossible to improve grip ergonomics.
Yes...bought a X-E1 (second-hand)....long, long time ago as a back-up and was using it more than I expected. Later on I let it transformed to IR and still use it (rather a while ago no). Easy because it was so compact. And watch out....a lot of teleportations over there hihi (2:20 and 3:00). Moved to the Sony camp after while for a A7r-m1 and now A7r-m5 but the Fuji's are so easy to use that I'm hesitating for a XT-5 or XT50...and X-E5 as back-up. And the megapixels went up in a good way for me (landscape photography).
I hope it have the stacked sensor and IBIS from the X-H2s. Seems like all their new X system models are just using the high res 40mp sensors, but I think having a more reliable electronic shutter (thanks to the stacked sensor) might be more beneficial for a compact and potentially very stealthy camera that is perfect for the street and the X-E line is the best candidate for that role.
This is really awesome news 👍. IMHO the xe line is the most underrated line in the full lineup. And even on the whole market there is not much that can compete with the small firm factor of the xe. Thank you Fujifilm thank u Patrick🙏
@@martingreenberg870 sure and they are fine cameras and I have owned two different x100's in the past. But I also like to shoot my beloved glass and manual lenses or on the streets😊
Recently managed to get hold of an X-E4. I think it's perfect, lacking grip/buttons/dials and all, because it's so small and so simple. It's brilliant for having a tiny camera and I *vastly* prefer it over the X-E3 (and somehow the eyepoint is better than the 3 as well, I can see much better with my lenses on this one). Paired with a pancake lens it's wonderful.
Which Sensor though... and what price... a £1000 X-E5 with a 26MP XTrans 4 and X processor 5 or a £1299.00 (or more) with 40MP Xtrans 5HR and X Processor 5 With the price of the X-T50, My X100VI is looking good value for money
Is great to see that new cameras are in the pipeline but I do not understand how they talk about new cameras when they cannot meet the demand of their current models, such as XT5 and X100VI.
Buon giorno!! Please please talk to Fuji. The X-E is a great line. What I would like to see is an ISO and shutter speed dial just like the 100VI. In other words a 100VI but with interchangeable lenses. It would be a camera to die for. Especially with Fuji’s f2.0 tiny lenses. 18, 27, 35, 50 or just the new 16-50. Please get them to add that 100 series iso/shutter speed dial. The lack of that is why I did not buy the XE-4
I'm hoping the next generation of rangefinder style Fuji's feature a substantial grip with the trigger shutter button, GA645zi style would be incredible. It can still be trim and minimalistic, don't worry Fuji, you can do it! Give us ergonomics as well as haptic switches and dials. Please and thank you
Very nice!....but the way things are going with Fuji..its going to be more like 2026 when you actually get the camera shipped when you pre-order this X-E5.. next year..
I think the X-E5 will be the last camera released with X-Prozessor 5? This means X-Prozessor 6 will come in 2026 with X-H3, X-H3S, ... and hopefully a new X-Pro Camera?!?
I sure hope Fuji plans to add IBIS to the xe5. Also, because this camera just begs for a “pancake” lens, it would be great if they could do a refresh on the ANCIENT 18mm f2 lens. The 27mm is nice but not as wide as needed for landscape shooters.
The X-E5 with Pancake Options today would be a far superieur Choice agains the X100vi IMHO. A X-E5 will be the new SWEETSPOT, i'm sure P.S. All looks like the X-E4 was cancelled due to the supplier Issues, Fujifilm got into with Sony while the Pandemic. Maybe the X-E5 will come with the next selfmade Fujifilm Sensor after the 40Mp, hopefully
I think both the rangefinder cameras (X-Pro and X-E series) updating late is fine. Those cameras are not about the latest most impressive specs, just being good cameras. I know people who are still super enthused about just any of the rangefinder models going back, but I've never for example… seen someone rave about the X-T10 for example.
Thank you for this rumor Patrick. In my opinion, the XPRO4 will have to be released prior to the XE5. After all, the XE is a smaller and lighter version of the XPRo like the XTxx is to the XTx. My guess is the XPRO4 won’t be released until 2024 as Fuji can’t handle the manufacturing demand for the X100VI. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret) Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
The Xe line and the XTxx are great additions for the small form factor but they dont seem as relevant these days with Fuji seeming to focus on larger and larger lenses. Its not massively smaller than full frame if you have an xh2 and a 33mm1.4 for example. Ive been using micro 4/3 recently to compliment my xt3 so will see how that goes
Don't get me wrong, not trying to be a bitch here, I just wander if presenting all these speculations about possible upcoming cameras in a couple of years or more do any good for the brand.
Fuji almost lost me for this sh#!ty product strategy to force everybody who want small rangefinder style to the pricy x100 (where they also artificially reduce the supply). An affordable and available X e5 would certainly a start to get into contact with their customers again.
