Great stuff here and fantastic resource for Fuji T users. I shoot an older Olympus camera and it's fine but I sure am liking what I see in this new X-T4. Oh, and at least twice I went out on a photo expedition and forgot that earlier I was uploading photos to my computer and did not reinstall the card back into the camera before I left. It's also good to have a additional available card in your kit. :)
Man... Top! I am not an english native speaker, but the way you keep it simple makes it so easy for people like me to understand it! Thank you from Portugal.
I've used these settings since I got my camera in December. (Now I've changed my raw files to lossless compressed) One thing you might consider. If you have the IBIS set to 'shooting only' it isn't on when you're focusing. I noticed this when using the x2 teleconverter with the new 70-300mm fuji lense. At 600mm I couldn't hold the lens still enough to focus. Once I had reset the IS to be on all the time it was easy.
Thank you for this video with the tips. I ordered my X-T4 yesterday, it was on special, waiting for it to be delivered. It is my first more expensive camera, and I cannot wait to start learning with it and making great photos and videos. I like your energy, I am subscribing :)
LOVE this vídeo, thank you so much! You are very friendly and explain everything very well. Subscribed! The only thing I disagree it's AdobeRGB, because for RAW there it's no space color, but for JPG, unless you are going to print it, AdobeRGB conversion to sRGB directly in social networks, web browsers etc are very bad, and the effect it's the opposite.
Just got an XT4 a couple weeks ago (I'm a rookie/intermediate hobbyist) and have been loving it.. but noticed that my pictures are turning out very dull and weak on the colors. The EVF or LCD gives a great representation of beautiful, accurate, and vivid colors, but the resulting photo.. I can only describe it as queasy, or seasick.. very different from the EVF.. it's just bland and has a little too much green hue and low saturation... These are indoor photos btw.. aaaanyways.. I found out today that it's the Adobe RGB color space that was causing it. I switched it to the other option and the photos are looking great now. I see that AdobeRGB might be better for people that are doing a lot more editing - I guess it gives you more flexibility. Just in case anyone is experiencing the same thing, try that setting!! Pal2tech, love your channel. It's my favorite 👍
2 years later, I just bought an XT4. Yes, I know XT5 is out, but it can wait. Thank you for all videos. I appreciate what you are doing for the photography community
Very much appreciated this video is INCREDIBLY helpful as a new Fujifilm user. Improved my usage almost immediately 😆 thanks a ton for these great recommendations! 🙌🏼📷
Hi I'm a new X-T4 owner and the information your giving here is so valuable !!!! With out it I would of ben so lost. I know eventually I would learn but who knows how many months would of already past🤷🏾♂️ that's what makes this video so valuable....🙏🏽 thank you so much for thinking about people like me, I wish for this video millions of views.
Two days ago I bought Fujifilm XT4 camera, the showroom from which I had taken it also did not guide me so well but after watching your video I got to learn a lot thank you (Bihar India🇮🇳)
Ive been a Canon 5DMk2 user for about one hundred years. All the functions on this camera and the flip out screen had me in a bit of a panic, however your calm demeanor and instructions has given me some confidence. Many thanks for taking the time to create these excellent videos. Just need to make an appointment at the opticians now to upgrade my spectacles so I can focus on that wee screen!
“You will see me again in another video.” You bet. My X-T-4 gets delivered on Wednesday January 6. How would I ever gotten started without this video. Thank you. 4 Stars
Just got my X-T4, super excited! Although, I started going through the manual and felt like I just signed up for a secondary study program... This video saves the day! A few questions: (1) What's the disadvantage of saving in lossless RAW? It seems like a winner to save some space without sacrificing quality. (2) When selecting fine+raw, does it make a difference setting the color space to Adobe RGB if the photos will be edited in RAW? For the fines, I think it's main purpose will be quickly scanning through photos and easily sharing them unedited, for which the more consumer-friendly sRGB seems the preferred color space.
Super late here, but I believe the disadvantage of lossless compressed raw vs uncompressed raw is that the lossless compression has to be calculated by the camera each time, so the time it takes to save each image is increased. I don't know what sort of impact that has outside of burst shooting though.
Getting my x-t4 in a week and I'm so glad I found this video. I probably would have just popped in the memory card and battery, and start shooting away. Thanks for your expertise!
I am a hardcore Nikonites but switch gear to Sony then I fall in Love with the Fuji XT-2 . Love the top dial very helpful to me and so easy to use. Thank you so much for your great tip I learned a lot you explain it very well even though you speak a bit fast . Great information thanks for sharing.❤
You are so good to teach those people like me. I’m a biggeners to use a nice camera like fuji. Because of you sir, I learn a lot how to used my Fuji camera with out going to school. Thank you so much. God bless you and youre family.
I so appreciate this video. I just purchased a new XT4 and was looking through the video to see if I could find out what the best settings would be for me. I just got the camera and I have a shoot Saturday morning using the XF 16-80mm. Your video was perfect for me to start with. Your companion video dealing with the Camera Remote app was priceless as well. Thanks again!! Life saver.
You have so many good points, it just needs to be done at a slower pace. Being a senior citizen I had to redwing some topics 3-4 times and still didn’t get things set up properly
Very helpful! I'm new to the xt4 as my xt2 was stolen( still new to the fujifilm camera), so I decided to upgrade. It's definitely an upgrade, and this helped a lot
Thank you so much. Got my X-T4 today and your video has given me the confidence to move around the camera and set things up as I've moved to Fuji from years of Nikon. Brilliant!
I literally just wanted to tell you how brilliant you are bro! This video in the first 5 minutes has helped me tremendously!!!! Please, keep it up I am determined to get better with my camera because I want to start creating my vision in my head in real world. I ask that you please keep these videos up and if so can you recommend 3 great lenses for video work? I was thinking of getting the 50mm f1.0 for the low light and extra depth of field. Your thoughts? Can you make one for video as well? For beginners.
Just got my x-t4 w 16-80 and so appreciate you for chosing to contribute this to the world... have learned so much watching you over recent months and looking forward to going over these settings to start getting familiar with the new beast this weekend... bit different from the old X-S1 for sure!
It's been a while now, how have you gotten on with it? Have you bought any additional lenses? What's your experience been like? I just bought the same thing and am right now setting up for my first day out with it. Curious to hear where this particular choice have lead other people as time went on.
@Frag-ile I'm interstate on vacation with kids and theme parks and surfy beach and it's still my main grab'n'go kit when I want something more robust and better image quality than the smartphone (which isn't often admittedly). I waited and bought adapters when they were available for me to use the set of K-mount and M42 mount lenses I'd accumulated for my Pentax K5iis. A bigger zoom is next savings target for some landscape plans, but that might end up being after high school expenses are over
You. Are. The. Best. I was looking for a straightforward, no-nonsense, easy-to-understand tutorial for my XT-4 and found your video. I can't wait to use my camera properly now. Thank you so much!
Just received my NEW X-T4 tooodaay! I was so excited I forgot almost everything I new about using my previous X-pro2. Luckily, I subscribed to you a day or so ago, and wow, so glad I did. Totally on the money with this video! This camera reminds me of the quality of my old Leica M9 but the usability, features and autofocus, IBIS etc just makes it feel like it's from another planet! MY menu - how simple, how clever, how amazing! Great camera and great video makes it a great day! Thanks again :)
Holy smokes! I was reading the manual then came upon this! So helpful! So clear! Thank you very much for your insight and experience! I'm totally sold on watching your other videos
As always, you’re a wealth of knowledge and a pleasure to watch. This video comes at a perfect time. As I indicated in a previous video, I just got my XT4 and was feeling a little bit overwhelmed. It’s a bit like being given the latest fighter jet and trying to figure out how to fly it 🤔🤪. Thanks again for the Great video content 👍
The most comprehensive video on getting my Fuij X-T4 up and going. I have watched multiple videos and this was as clear as it gets. I had several things set up wrong and now understand what was happening with my shots. Thank you so much! Gary
You’re an absolute legend for this. I hate to admit that my first time trying to shoot with this thing I didn’t realize I was in movie mode……. I got no pictures 😂
I just got my XT4 yesterday and used your recommended settings! So incredibly useful, especially like the tip on the playback button to be on the right side instead of fiddling and finding where the original playback button. Thank you ☺️
Finally, I'm new to photography and bought an X-T4. I have been searching for tips for beginners to setup or configure the camera. Although most of the settings mentioned in your video are what's in my camera, it's still makes me feel good that what I set is pretty close to what you shared. Thanks
Thanks for this awesome guide! I unpacked my tx4 today and was really glad to find your video. I’ve learned a lot as a newbie to Fuji, so thanks for that!
I loooove your videos I was so glad to see your face when I strated this one as I use to watch some of your other videos for my other cameras, I remembered you and knew this one will really be helpful this time! Thank you and keep doing this you are one of the gems of RU-vid!!
Thank you so much, nobody explains the reasons for the settings as well. Please take it to the next level by taking specifid photography situations, and how to create magic with the X-T4
I'm about to take the leap from a Nikon D3400 to an XT4 and wow the amount of customizability is almost dizzying! I think I'll use this video as a reference for some good starter settings and then dive in deeper as I become more comfortable using it.
OMG these videos are so great!!! I was trying to find how to turn off the really annoying "feature" where you touch the screen and it takes a shot. This video has it! Thank you!!!!
This was a very helpful video. Fast but a great intro to the XT-4, the menus and custom settings. Looking forward to watching more of your Fuji videos!
Hi, thanks for these very helpful tips. I own a XT 4 since 2 weeks, coming from Sony and Olympus and I love this camera right from the beginning specifically the menu, really clear and tidy.
Thanks so much for your great informative videos on the XT4! Helps so much! I just picked up the XT4. So much to learn and your videos help so much! Blessings to ya!
Very helpful little tutorial. I have had my X-T4 for a few months and this was just what I was looking for. Great to benefit from your experience. Thanks!
This is fantastic. The xt4 is a Christmas present to myself. I don't own a camera (other than my phone). My family has always taken photos for memories, and I've dabbled with youtube videos, but I'd like to level up. Took a black and white photography class in college and really enjoyed it. I'll follow this guide when it arrives, and probably keep these beginner settings for when my family picks up the camera. Point and shoot. I'm sure I'll be deep within the menu's after a short time though... :P
