I love your street photography tactics and the fact that you plan your shots before they happen as opposed to just blindingly shooting at everything. It's so inspiring.
I’ve used mine with the digital televconverter to get a closer shot and i love that this can get me to 100mm and the quality is still so good! Fuji does an excellent job with this!
I love the last series. Really great job. When I go out and shoot, I really prefer shooting photos without people and I honestly think that the pandemic is kind of beneficial to my street photography. But I totally agree that shooting architecture always is a great practice.
Loooooved this video Faizal! The commentary had some lovely helpful tips and some tidbits of knowledge and a better philosophy behind your work. Amazing as always my friend.
I quite like the digital teleconverter option on X100F. Obviously crops in camera and drops the resolution but, as the teleconverters cost so much and change the whole look of the camera, quite a useful option.
Just a quick tip. You can still get the cheaper MK1 for both TCL and WCL and stick a 6x2mm magnet on the inside for auto-recognition . Saved myself a few hundreds this way.
At 9:15, there's that woman wearing a yellow jacket and black trousers, which juxtaposed extremely nicely with that fire hydrant, also black and yellow. Felt the frustration of you not seeing it as if I had missed it myself haha
I used to typically shoot on a 24-70 and loved it for street. Sold that mirrorless setup and went for the simplicity of the x100f. Love the camera but prefer something not quite as wide as the 35. I’ll have to pick this up at some point.
as someone who enjoys taking pictures, I also prefer the “zoomed in” look to my photos (sorry for the lack of proper terms! I’ll study photography so that I’ll be more knowledgeable)
Great video Faizal. I used to shoot 35mm for a long time, but last year i Switched to 50mm and it's all I shoot now. I love how much more abstract compositions I can get with the 50, and I personally prefer the distance to subject with it as well. Subscribed!
I just traded in my x100t for an Xpro2 -- I missed swapping lenses out and, as odd as this may seem, I actually like a 50mm with a crop for street shooting. In my opinion, a 75mm equiv. allows me to not disturb some scenes with even the little extra reach. I always thought about getting this tele-converter instead but, tbh, it wasn't that big of a jump in focal length for the price for me. Either way, great video, as always! Keep the content coming & stay safe!
It's funny, I was making the same conclusion recently. Was shooting with mainly 35mm for a long time and was absolutely convinced it was my favourite focal length, but then I realized I definitely have preference for 50. Of course you don't have to decide for one or the other, it depends on the situation, but I often like my 50mm shots more and I enjoy shooting with it more.
Thank you for sharing your process of shaking off the rust! It was a good reminder that it takes practice and not to get down on yourself, and I could see you get more and more inspired, culminating in those amazing shots with the columns. Also you pretty much convinced me to get the teleconverter. 👍🏼
dude please keep this up i love your content. it’s nice to mix things up every now and then, i believe there is a conversion lens that makes the lens on the x100v into a 28mm equivalent. that would be fun to see how you can approach wider focal lengths!
Love that sequence around the 11:15-12:15 mark....fantastic light. I have the X100v as well but never used the converter but with my XPro2 the 50mm f2 is my favorite lens for that on the street. Great video
In my opinion the WCL is the better option as far as conversions go. The TCL is too clunky for this camera and I feel like 28mm does a better job for street photography rather than 50mm. Still nice to have options though , great video!
Nice video, very relaxing style as usual from you. Thinking about getting one of these for my black x100v. If you end up making another video about the TLC maybe you could compare it with the internal Digital Teleconverter? Stay safe.
Nice images from the quiet streets - makes a change hearing some positive views on the TCL. Finally got one for my F & indeed a hefty bit of metal/glass for its size.
OT: interesting stone carving on building wall above Hollow Sidewalk sign. If the sun hits it at an angle it could make for interesting crop/macro high contrast B&W image. Thank you. I was looking to convince myself to buy the TCL-X100II specifically for architectural images, your walking tour convinced me to buy it, already own WCL-X100II. Now my mission is find sun shade to diminish sun glare, already have protector filter.
I love you videos. I am also love POV Street Photography. And I will be back to POV Street very soon. And I also wait to see more of your beautiful videos...😊
Great to see someone really positive about the TCL. Loved your shots and a very helpful and interesting commentary. Would love to see more. Do you also have the WCL?
Hi, I’ve been stuck, with a Fuji x100v and both conversions. I’m going to use th 50mm today, thanks for inspiration. If you ever come Antigua look me up..
NYC is just as quiet! I see as many people in the suburbs as I do in the city! Other than missing the architecture of the city I save the train fare and stay local.
Sorry, I know the vid is old and my comment late, but I realized sth. interesting. You said the 50mm matched well to architecture! Exactly where I always stuggle using the TCL. But you're in the US, I'm in Germany. In the US, buildings are much bigger and wider, streets are much wider and longer, so maybe the 50mm does work better on the streets of the US ? Havbe you experienced such, when you have been here in Europe (I know, you were in Spain) ? ... moreover, I love my x100 and the converters and I pay much respect for your work and style ! cheers Tom
Really liked this one! Liked the photos as well. I prefer 50mm over 35✌🏽found that out while using the 18-55. 90% of the time I shoot at 50mm (ff equivalent) with that lens without intension. Learned a lot from the way I shoot. Looking forward to the next one !
Awesome video. If i may say, That picture at 11.24 shown on your camera looks much better in colour than the BnW edit. You should definitely print that one :) Have a nice day
I have a x100V, I love the camera but, 35mm. was too wide to me, I got the tcl adapter and now it feels right, but I hate the heavy converter attached, also, "screwing a lens" doesn't feel nice.
Just sold mine yesterday. Great timing! :D I didn't like the size of the setup and it always felt like I was going to break that big glass eye. i wish it would be faster to unscrew too.
Had both converters when I had my X100T and used them maybe twice. They just didn’t feel right on the camera to me. I wouldn’t advise purchasing that kind of package with a X100 series camera . I you wanna use different lenses it’s just not the right camera. Just get an X-Pro series camera. Cheers
@@FaizalWestcott the great advantage is having a 50mm with an instant ND filter that’s can be turn on and off without wasting time. Besides, the 50mm for the X-Pro 3 is twice the price... oh, and the X100v has an amazing leaf shutter.
It's amazing as always watching these videos! Here for opinions / advice I have an X100T and I recently got my hands on my brother's old D3300 Shooting with Nikon made me realise I wanted to do more of 50mm shooting than just 35 I get from x100t What I'm wondering now is whether I should sell my used fuji (in my region it'll probably get me about 700CAD) and get an X-E4 kit that gets me more versatility and long term relevance or stick with x100t and get the tcl that would cost me about 450CAD
Isn’t the Tele lens really equivalent to shooting with a 75 given Fuji’s 1.5 factor? The standard lens being a 23mm equates to a 35mm approx so just curious to know because the Tele would need to be approx a 33mm to give you 50? Was thinking of buying it but if the only gain is to reach from 35mm to 50mm it’s a honking piece of glass just for that!😅Maybe I’m missing something?
Okay, how tall are you? Cause from the video and the angle of the photos you look super tall, of course it may just be the way you take your photos. Love your work!
I used to live in Boston and I always found it to be a very boring city to shoot and live... I live in Seattle now and its an amazing place to shoot and also to live.
Great video as always. Bought the TCL now. Do you use the 6 or 10 liter bag for the X100V + TCL? Was hoping that 6 liter can store this setup plus Godox TT350F flash ….
I realy enjoy my x100v but there are more and more moments, thinking about the x-pro 3 with 35 and 85mm would have been the better choice to me because the 85mm could give me a lot more options in street(urban) and abstract photography. Although i wouldn't buy this converter lens an interesting report.
