You guys are so cute together!! I just acquired a Fujifilm XT-30 myself and your tips would be so useful in my future video shooting. Thanks you again and please continue to share more content like this!
Hey! Well thank you we appreciate that. You made a great choice & we're glad the videos will be useful for you. More to come don't worry, enjoy the new camera :)
I love this video, & you guys! Alot of other camera people I've on RU-vid seem very intimidating like they know what they're doing & the viewers are mostly idiots, but you guys are very down to earth, fun, & explain everything very easily! Keep up the great work!
Hey David. Thanks very much, it's nice to hear that. Sometimes when we make these type of videos it's hard to know if everything we are trying to explain will make sense but glad to hear that it does 😂 Cheers for the support, lots more to come ✌
Oh, my, god… THANK YOU!!! The WB/Exp preview has been the biggest pain in the butt. I honestly thought it was an issue with my camera since i bought it used. IT WORKS NOW!!!!… SUBSCRIBED lol❤❤❤
Wooo just found you two😊 and subscribe. This video was really something I could use. I never used my x-t30 for video, even though this was the reason I bought it. I also have the x-t 1. Now I can’t wait for trying to make some videos whit my camera😊
Hey Catarina, welcome welcome & thanks so much for the support it's much appreciated 🙂 Well I'm sure you will love the X-T30 it's pretty amazing for video. If you ever have any questions just feel free to let us know. 👍
Thanks for sharing guys,I always forget the white balance, actually I usually forget at least one thing. I will be trying the Zebra and maybe those sharpness settings. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers John, no problem we hope it helps. Yeah we know exactly how you feel it's hard to always remember everything. White balance is definitely one we have forgot before (super annoying to edit) Haha. Good stuff, it's really useful to have on. Have yourself a nice weekend 🙂✌
Thanks for making this video and your channel is great! I just bought this camera last week to take quality pictures of my paintings, but I'd also like to film with it and being a beginner this was easy enough to understand. I actually decided on this exact camera because of your review :) So thank you, its a beautiful camera and I am very pleased so far!
Thank you so much Stephanie 😀 We're so glad you found it helpful. We really love it and we're sure you will too 👍 If you have any questions feel free to send them our way 💛
cant wait to pick mine upp, im hoping i will have enough by the end of the year, these videos definitely helped me make my decisions, channel deserves so many more followers, what is the best lens you recommend that gets decently wide and has a decent zoom length
Thanks we're glad it helped, you will love it. We appreciate the support & as for lenses we do plan on testing some out here on the channel at the minute we only have the 18-55mm but the 18-135 would give a lot more zoom and 18mm at the wide end is pretty good too 👍
Hello guys, it's years later, congrats on the engagement and on the growth of your channel.🥰 Your videos still are a reference to me when I'm fiddling with my camera. 🤣 I have a few questions, could you help me? -I saw my XT-30 is exporting in MOV REC601 - Is there a way to change the recording format to H264 REC 709? -If you pick "eye detection or noise reduction" do you need to choose the specific mode for video, or else it will only work with photos? -Do you use additional lighting sources when filming yourselves indoors? I tested a few clips with mine indoors at night, with normal lamp lights but the ISO was too high and there was too much grain... Is there a fix for that? thanks and keep up the great work.
Hey there & thanks very much we appreciate that 😀 Glad the videos are still helping haha - I dont think the MovREC 601 things really matters, I just looked through our camera and there is no option to change things but it's been fine for us. - If you turn on noise reduction and eye detection in the video settings section then it will work for video only you need to turn it on for both photo and video settings if you want to use it for both photo and video. - Yes when filming indoors in low light we will use additional lighting like a softbox light, these cameras are okay in low light but the can get quite noisy if you increase the ISO too much. Hope that helps :)
I am so confused on buying what camera. You two are so nice and giving nice review. I think explaination are easy to understand for beginner like us. I love the scenes you are providing in this video. Thank you for your effort. Zebra Zabra, or anything!! :) :P
Hey there & thanks glad the video was helpful. Totally agree buying a new camera is hard with all the choices there is but we definitely made the right choice for us. Have a good one ✌
It is a great little camera, we love it. If you want to do both photo and video then it's a great choice but if you just want it for photos then there are definitely cheaper options 👍
@@MacnTeensVisuals Do you have any recommendations? I do want to take pictures and video but I heard the xt30 doesn’t have stabilization. So I will mostly just be taking photos.
Really loved this video, thanks. I’m really very much a beginner but was given the xt30 as a wedding gift and really enjoying using it. I was wondering for your back button focus, do you turn off the focus function on the shutter release? I’m not totally sure why, but I feel so intimidated by focusing!
Thank you Joanna, glad you enjoyed it and hopefully it was helpful. Yes we have got the shutter release focus turned off so we only ever use back button focus. Oh we totally understand it can be at times lol We have had some issues as mentioned with this lens slightly missing focus it seems and we plan on testing some other lenses very soon so we will be able to compare them. Anyway, have yourself a nice weekend :)
Love the videos. I'm just about to get my first Fuji camera. I'm going to get the 18-135mm lens and an XT30 body, so your info is so valuable. Do you think that's a good combo for handheld landscape and hiking camera? Is it worth taking a small tripod on my trips too?
Thank you and that's great you will love it. The 18-135mm would be a great choice because you have a wide focal length and then a pretty decent zoom for getting detail shots as well as OIS and WR 👌 Just be careful in rainy weather because the XT30 body is not weather resistant. Well that is totally up to you and the way you like to take your photos but a tripod is definitely useful at times when you wanna take a bit more time setting a shot up or in low lighting for long exposures 👍
Cheers Venkat I actually lost it during our trip to Italy :( It was from a brand called Double U Frenk but unfortunately they don't sell it anymore as they have changed there style :/
Hey Venkat! Thanks very much man really appreciate the support :) To be honest videos like that I do find can be very boring but I understand they are helpful too. If you want to join our Discord you can drop any questions in there and us or another member can help answer them 👍
Thanks for the video! I am learning how to use my XT30 better so this really helps :) Also your other footage is stunning! I wonder if you use a stabaliser for some of your handheld shots? My shots seem to be reaaally shaky if I do any movments by hand so do you think it is a case of teaching myself to be a bit steadier or I should invest in a camera stabliser?
Thanks very much, we're so glad to hear that its helpful. We haven't used a stabiliser/gimbal for any of the shots on the XT30 yet, just applied warp stabiliser to some of them in Premiere Pro. It is really hard to get steady shots and without the camera having IBIS there will always be some shake unless you have a tripod of course. We'd suggest just trying a few different techniques to make the shots as steady as you can then on some of them add warp stabiliser in Premiere Pro or whatever editing software you use will really help. Do you use the 18-55mm lens or another lens with OIS? If you do make sure that the OIS switch on the lens is turned on lol
@@MacnTeensVisuals Thanks so much for the response! Premiere Pro only got me so far with the warp stabliser so I think that really is just an indicator I should work to hone in on my steady shot skills :) I currently have the Fujinon XF 23mm F1.4 which doesn't have its own stabilisation
Hi guys, I hope this is not a dumb question, but those slow motion shots; do you film in slow motion (i.e. is there a camera setting for that) or do you apply slow motion in editing?
Hey! No worries at all, if you don't ask you never learn lol The slow motion shots are done in camera. To switch to slow motion you just need to go into the MENU - MOVIE SETTING - FULL HIGH SPEED REC then select the frame rate you would like for example 60fps or 120fps 👍
@@MacnTeensVisuals Thanks so much. So basically, you need to know which shots you want in slow motion before shooting? It's not something you can decide later in post production?
@@TawandaTube That's correct. You need to switch the settings for each slow motion shot you want. Then when editing put those 60fps or 120 fps clips onto a 24fps timeline and you're good to go.
What microphone do you use? I got the rode videomicro and the xt30 Mark 2 and dont k ow how to adapt my microphone to the camera.. :/ By the way I love your videos and that you are doing them together, I find that very cute :)
Hey there, Oh yeah we use the exact same one. It's a great little mic actually we have used it for years now. Yes we use an adapter for the XT30 the link is in the description of all our new videos if you want to have a look. (It's an Amazon affiliate link just to let you know) Thanks very much we appreciate the support and glad to hear you enjoy the videos 😀✌
@@MacnTeensVisuals Thank you so much for your really faster :) I will have a look and check your links out. And I am very relieved to hear that this exact mic works with the XT30. I even called my local musician instrument shop and even they didn't have any adapter (I live in a capital city...). Well, amazon/online shopping it is I guess :D
Thank you for your review! I also have an xt 30, and i plan to make some short movies. Which microphones would you recommend? My plan is to shoot footages outside and inside and conversations will be ongoing in both environments. Thanks in advance
Hey Sedat, thank you hope it was helpful. Love to hear it, hope you're enjoying the camera 👍 So it entirely depends what way you want to film these shots. If it's vlogging style outside or you're filming someone close to the camera then the Rode Video Micro which we use is a very good affordable option. If you are filming someone talking from further away then you will probably need a Lav mic or 2. There are lots of different options out there for those. Another options is a boom mic if you are filming a talking head type shot indoors. These will be a bit more expensive but you can move it around and get great sound quality. Hope that helps.
Hey :) For those type of situations you should use continuous focus. You can also choose the wider focus point which cover 6 squares I believe as it has more chance of focusing on your subject. You can also adjust the speed the camera tries to track a subject which will help. And finally if you are trying to get shots of people turn on Eye Auto focus to help tracking 👍 Hope that helps.
I am a XT5 user now and considering buying XT30. However, I found out that there is over heating issue for XT30 while people is taking video with it. Do you find the same problem on it?
Hey Kai! ✌ Well we have never experienced the over heating when out making photo vlogs etc But we are also only using the camera for short periods at a time. We have had it heat up once I think during a sit down recording and the battery life isn't the greatest when doing long recordings. So it totally depends what you need the camera for.
@@MacnTeensVisuals Thank you so much for your reply. I have made my mind to buy XT30 II due to it’s small size. I don’t think I will use it for a major video recording device so that over-heating issue should not be a problem for me. I think the over-heating problem is because of the chips that are made of Samsung. Fuji should change the chips maker.
There is a record limit for 4K - so I turned mine to FHD 16x9 to capture a part of a concert (>10 min). The files that get written are 3.85GB - which is OK; but the problem is that the camera actually looses some frames while writing the file. I don't know if this is a system limitation or a configuration issue..?
Oh really, we haven't really shot any HD clips for longer periods but that is definitely a problem if it does that on you every time. Honestly have no idea what the reason for that is we wont lie lol Maybe using a faster memory card might help but that's just a guess.
@@abameztv359 Hmm that's strange, did you use a separate mic on the camera. The only thing I can think of is that the mic may not have been plugged in properly or wasn't turned on. Or the audio level may have been lowered in camera possibly.
Hey hey! Not sure exactly what you mean but you can quickly change the white balance using the Q Menu or go into your settings and change it that way 👍
We haven't used the a6300 and to be honest we don't really do camera comparison videos. The X-T30 was released quite a few years after the a6300 though so it would probably win in all areas but we have heard great things about the a6300 it would make for a great beginner camera 👍
