Fujifilm XT30 II vs XT30 - Watch Before You Buy. Fuji recently released the X-T30 II which has caused a bit of confusion in the Fuji world. In this video we thought we would quickly run through the upgrades which have been made and hopefully help you guys decide which camera to go for if you are currently considering getting a new camera or upgrading from the existing XT30. Hope this one helps some of you and hopefully I don't sound like this in the next video haha

Picked up a mint X-T30 II without a box for $500 on Offer Up.Pimped it out with the Fuji metal arca grip on B&H for $30 (on sale) and a screen protector. Added a bunch of recipes and now it's my fun camera when I'm not doing fashion shows with my X-H2. My lenses on this camera 90% of time are split almost equally between the 35 1.4 and the 23 F2. Such a fun little beast.

That's a bargain right there. Great choice of camera and great choice of lenses too. I think the 23mm may the next prime lens I get at some point. Glad to hear you're enjoying it. ✌

Hey! Thanks for watching, hope it was helpful :) Ehh not the sit down parts, we use a Sony RX10 III for those because the file sizes are smaller.

Hi there! I'm also based in Ireland and I was wondering, where did you get your camera from? I'm a Canon user but would love to move to mirrorless and the TX30 or the TX30II look like good options for me but I'm a bit concern of buying via Amazon. I bought a lens last year advertised new and the way the package arrived made me believe it was not, so I'm worried that might happened with the camera. Any suggestions of reliable camera stores? Thanks in advance!

Hey Sue! I'm sure you would enjoy using either of those, fun cameras to use. Honestly we haven't used many of them, I think we got our camera from Curry's but there is the likes of Jessops & Wex that have a lot of stuff but we haven't used them ourselves yet.

I’ve been contemplating the xt30II, and I’m sure for people like me that don’t have the xt30, it’s a no brainer. But I know xt30 owners are probably a bit steamed about no firmware update at the very least…

Hey Tom! Yeah it just makes sense especially if you get a good deal on it. It is a little annoying tbf it seems like these upgrades could have just been a firmware update for the XT30 but whatever hopefully we get some of them at some point haha

Maybe I’m a bit of a skeptic. But I’d think they’d hold off on the firmware update to keep as much difference between the xt30 and xt30ii to drive more sales. It doesn’t matter for a brand new Fuji customer but Fuji xt30 owners would be a lot less likely to upgrade to the newer model if they could get a firmware update that would give them half of the new features. I’d they’d planning a new firmware update to give their customers some of the new features they’ll probably wait until they get their sales from the launch of the new model.

Hello, love the content; new subscriber here!! I am a beginner just get into photography and was ready to purchase the T30 and then saw this lol. My question is should I wait to purchase the T30ii since it won’t be shipped until around mid January or go for the T30? Would a beginner like me notice the minor changes? And purchasing this camera I would like to use it for a while.

Hey Maureen! Thanks very much the support means a lot & glad you're enjoying the videos :) To be honest no you wouldn't really notice the differences much at all. A few of the upgrades are nice but nothing major so it's totally up to you really. The XT30 will probably drop in price a little at some point but for now they are pretty much the same. I'd recommend trying to get a used lens to lower the overall price 👍

Can I use the new Film Simulations In the XT30 ii for the videos And do you recommend this camera for doing Street Photography in 2022…

Yes I believe so. The camera has the new film simulations so they should be available to use for photo & video. Yes I definitely would recommend it, even though we don't really do street photography we do a wide variety of photography and it works great 👍

I would recommend the X-T3 because it has more features and is also weather resistance. 👍🏼

Yeah you’re right, it’s not worth the upgrade. 240fps is nice. I would even get one if they added the option to record 10-bit internally - now with that you can make use of F-log with more confidence.

Yeah it is a decent addition. Oh now you're talking haha internal 10-bit would be super nice. We actually want to try a little cinematic video with it using F-log even though it will just be 8-bit interested to see how it turns out.

XT30 II offers much more flexibility to customizing film simulations; you can even set you custom shift in Auto White Balance for every custom simulation you create. It s like X-Pro3, XT4 etc in this area.

Getting XT30 ii and returning the XT5 lol nothing wrong with XT5 but I want to see if I would be happy with x30 for $1k less

Oh really 😮 Well that would be quite the saving alright. To be honest I think unless you really need the extra video features in the X-T5 you will probably be happy enough with the X-T30 ii. в новой версии передвинули лимит записи до 30 минут в 4к. это обновление я бы тоже хотел в первую версию x-t30. надо писать комментарии под всеми заявлениями компании, чтоб они подумали и для старых пользователей камеры. так как это прям плевок в лицо. начинка камеры одинаковое , но они заставляют покупать новую, потому что в ней изменили прошивку

Yeah hopefully the original X-T30 gets some of the upgrades. It definitely is a strange camera release not sure it was really necessary to be honest.

Great question, honestly not 100% sure I think you can. There may be one setting the XT30 II has that the XT30 does not but I may be mistaken, that could be the X-T4.

I use a nikon z6 for my photography work, but I want something lighter for my everyday stuff. I took my old cameras with me EVERYWHERE for years and years and now with a one year old I just cant. I don't have the time, or place. But I miss the everyday shots so freaking bad. This will make this part of my life spark again :') I've obviously looked at the 100v but I feel like maybe I can buy something cheaper for what Im using it for? But there are so many, and I dont usually work with fuji so feel a bit lost. Would love to sort it out a bit, and hope you can help me! 🙂 Which camera would you recommend if I want/need this: - Use mainly for Instagram and smaller things = do not need high resolution. - Need the film simulations. This and the next one is the most important. - Needs to be easy to connect to the phone, with the simulation, to easily be uploaded right away. Thank you 🙂

Fuji gave us another curveball after we thought we understood their product release paradigm: X-T1 -> X-T10, ..., X-T3 -> X-T30, X-T4 -> X-S10?? Now they shoehorned in an X-T30 ii version. What, no little brother to the X-T4 with IBIS and articulating screen? Frankly, I would rather upgrade glass at this time and be content with the X-T30 I currently have. Some new lenses will open up more possibilities than a new body will do. For someone new to Fuji, yeah, your point is completely logical: go with the X-T30 ii.

Hey Bruce, totally agree it is a little confusing tbh haha And yeah adding another lens to the collection would be much more beneficial for most people I'd imagine. Yeah I mean with them being pretty much the same price it just makes sense, it really is a strange camera release lol

Hey Leonardo, yeah it's not a good look, make sure you are using the 180 degree shutter rule (shutter speed double the frame rate) 👍

Hey Britwin, to record the actual talking part of this video we used a Sony RX10 III shooting 4K 👍 The lighting setup is probably what makes it look nicer but the quality is good too.

Do you mean the color of the actual camera. If so then yes this is just the silver model which is available in both the XT30 and XT30 ii 👍

Absolutely, it may lack a few features of more expensive cameras in Fuji's range but it's still a little beast.

Great question actually.... hmm well it depends. The X-S10 is the latest model and also has IBIS which is very nice for video. The XT3 is a little older but does have the capability to shoot 10 Bit Internal. To me it would come down to whether you want to shoot 10 Bit or have more stabilisation. Those are the main differences really. As much as I love the XT30 the other two have some extra advantages but are also a little more expensive.

I guess the other thing to consider is that there’s a ton of XT-30 used - I see a mint condition one for $600 vs a new XT-30 II for a $1000. I’m leaning heavily towards the used one given what seems to be an identical camera function wise

Yep you're totally right. I would recommend buying the used X-T30. The difference isn't enough to spend that much more at all. 👍
