It is not cladding that you are removing, but rather coating. Cladding is intrinsic to the makeup of the fiber itself, whereas the coating is an added protective layer that must be removed.
Technically yes you are correct. It’s is coating, cladding and then core. Most people in the industry call it cladding. Thank you for pointing that out.
