We have sent scouts multiple times to look at gyokeres, so we are obviously definitely interested in him. I've seen quite a few reports today saying Lisbon would be willing to accept between 50-60mil for Gyokeres now. If that's the case, I honestly think we will get him. It seems our plan this window when it comes to signings, was start at the back and move forward. We signed 2 keepers first, then calafiori in defence, now Merino in midfield, so hopefully it's the attacking department next.
Havertz is definitely expensive due to experience...this prices are set by the market..even today he still cost the same based on what he has done at arsenal
Arteta starting Havertz at CM tells me we are seriously trying to get a striker. Arteta doesnt want Havertz on the bench, so he'll stick him there if he must.
I seriously hope not, because he is crap in midfield. Havertz will end up being an impact sub, because there is no way havertz starts in our midfield if we have a midfield trio of merino, rice, and ødegaard.

If we are selling ESR because of injury, what sense does it make to bring an injury-prone player like Pedro Neto, I'd love him to take the RW job at Arsenal--- he will be an upgrade on Saka (forget the sentiment), but what is his use if he is not available when needed. So we should get Bakayoko instead, He will also give Saka serious competition. But I can sense that if Gyokeres comes in - (and Arteta shd do the deal asap), then Arsenal may not buy a RW,.. Havert, Jesus, and Nwaneri can play there, even Gyokeres can play any of the from 3 positions.
@TiganaaJ ya personally I would sell zinchenko. He doesnt offer anything going forward we don't have from timber, white or Cali and can't play defense at all comparatively... at least kiwior offers more size and defense and is younger still so he will retain what value he has for a bit

I remember seeing a stat sometime last season that the player with the most missed chances is haaland. Most games are 2-1 score line bc strikers and players miss lots of chances.

You don't need a forward striker to score. A creative midfielder/winger can do just that. There simply isn't a striker on the market as good as we'd like. But there are a few midfielders/wingers that fit the expectations.

Calafiori / ESR = -10m Merino / Nketiah = 0m That’s only a net of 10m. Nelson 15m Ramsdale 35m = Nico Williams Gyokeres 60m. That’s around a 70m net spend. I’m sure we can manage that. Not to mention we have other assets that can be sold.
Buy alexander sorloth for 25m instead of Gyorkeres. He scored 23 goals(no penalties) for Villareal in La Liga last year. He scored 4 of them in one match against Real Madrid

Guys let’s chill out on the Gyokeres transfer. This is coming from a Sporting Lisbon fan who won the league last season in Portugal (I’m Portuguese so I follow the Portuguese league). He’s a great player and Arsenal definitely could do with him BUT for me, only at a right price. I would rather we (I follow Arsenal closely coz I live in England) go a get a top goalscoring winger who can start or be a backup to Saka, and wait till next season and go all out for a Isak or even a Gyokeres if he justifies the price. I would welcome neto. Yes he's got injury records, but he won't be playing every game, rotating him and being mindful of minutes hopefully would keep the injuries at bey. If he stays fit then we have an incredible player with no drop off from the 1st 11. So for me, if the price is right then go get him.

Out and out Strikers are not part of the way Arteta plays. Wide players and midfielders sharing the goals is ideal way. Even if we get Gyorkes, he will be more of a false 9
“Yokeres” not “Gyokeres” there’s a silent G there. Crystal Palace offered £30m for Mketiah last season. Now we could sell him for £20m. Martin Dubraka is average. He’s full of silly mistakes. Pedro Neto is injury prone.
