Fabulous round table interviews with wonderful talented actors. I watched the Whale at the BFI London Film festival (2022) where Brendon appeared live and got a standing ovation from the audience for his mesmerising performance. However, Austin Butler was absolutely electric in Elvis. A handsome rising actor, a philosopher and hopefully a well deserved Oscar winner. Haven't seen the other films yet! 😊

I love how they always have a really different group of actors on this segment. you get actors from not only different countries but also different age groups, backgrounds and different acting groups one can categorize them based on what we have seen from them. One of my new favorites is Jonathan Majors-AMAZING actor. Paul Dano doing all of these serious and truly amazing roles (He will alwasy be 'Clits' from The Girl Next Door to me)then you have the awesome and brilliant Bill Nighy and our awesome 90's cutie Brendan Frasier whom a lot of us grew up with watching ... I truly love and enjoy this segment.

What a great combination of actors. You have a few established successes (Sandler, Dano and Nighy), hot and upcoming ones (Majors and Butler), and one who's been out of the limelight and seemingly in some kind of Hollywood purgatory but is now back and very grateful for it (Fraser).

Seeing Brendan there, I'm thinking that as a film fan... I love the moment when an actor that I loved much in the past has come to the career moment to play a contra role or a more quality role than he used to. I'm really happy about him. Could say the same for Sandler, but he played also on uncuted gems.

Butler’s interpretation of Unchained Melody toward his mother reminds me of the incredibly heartfelt rendition of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” performed by Charles Bradley, which he also connect to his mother rather than romance. Beautiful stuff.

Austin was the only one who made me cry only because I already knew about his touchstones and the amount of devotion he put into the role. @@kindking8009 same - I think the feat Austin accomplished is actually underrated, even with all the attention he's getting. Also, Austin carried the movie he was in - the screenplay was nothing special, it was the acting.
@kindking8009
@kindking8009 Год назад
@@johnjungkook2721 I wouldn't say the screenplay was nothing. It hit on some aspects about Elvis's life that none of the others have, but Baz's movies have always been more about presentation which I think was apropos for the subject of Elvis. But yes, Austin carried it. Anyone else in that role and I think the movie might've been a bit of a flop.

@DanielRayRodriguezMovieReviews
I find it so interesting nobody is talking about Jonathan Majors in Devotion. For me his performance had at least 2 or 3 Oscar moments in that film. It was a old Hollywood style leading man performance he gave. Moments that equally recall a young Denzel Washington or even a young Sidney Poitier at times. Even a little of the nuance and method attention of a young Marlon Brando in his performance too. Just downright sad nobody is considering him at all not even as a possible contender. A lot of the problem too I believe is Devotion was extremely highly overshadowed by Top Gun Maverick obviously. That’s why i still believe they should have released Devotion in 2023 instead of the same year as Top Gun. That way by the time it came out late 2023, Jonathan would be a huge movie star coming off of Ant Man, Creed 3 and Magazine Dreams earlier in the year, and he easily would have had much more momentum and support
@gemelwalters2942
