Glad I was not the only one wanting to cry at how good Shadow is. Truth is, the moment I heard the song I felt SO overwhelmed (in a positive way of course) that I got teary eyed. But it wasn't until a few couple of listens that eventually I let myself completely get lost in the song and I actually shed tears LOL it's THAT good 💎♥️
Honestly I've (Esosa) been avoinding listening to the album in the evening/at night with headphones. Cause I feel that as soon as I lower my guard this whole album will expose all the feelings.
I can’t count the times I cried at svt ballads and in this album I did too with Don Quixote, Shadow, and If You Leave Me. The lyrics! I can’t believe how they move me so much when they’re in a language I don’t even understand.
Fun fact, Dino’s rap part in Shadow was written by himself (a fan asked him during a fanmeeting), and also Hoshi mentioned that he cried when writing IF you leave me because it reminded him of how they couldn’t meet carats for such a long time (bc of the pandemic) 🥲
For those who didn’t know, at 53:44 it’s actually Seungkwan’s voice, and not Mingyu’s voice. They have similar voices but there’s a slight difference in the way they pronounced words and I think that’s also bc we’re too used to Seungkwan singing in high pitch 😢 BUT I’M SO THANKFUL to hear him singing in a lower range bc he sounds so freaking good and sexy like brooooooo
I was so excited for you to listen to Ash and get hyped up for Seungkwan the first time because it blew my mind finding it out from tiktok that it was Kwan's lower voice.
I know I'm late but also other mistakes, like in March I think a couple of the lines attributed to Woozi didn't sound like him. And Jun. Maybe I'm not hearing correctly but it sounded a bit questionable sometimes.
Don Quixote was co-written by Wonwoo who likes to read and probably read Don Quixote...that is why, the song was true to its story... For March, i can clearly see it included in the concert set list! And yes Mingyu sounds majestic throughout the whole album!!!

Idk if you’ve watched their IU’s palette guesting, but Queen IU herself loved the album so much! She literally said, “너무 좋아~!“ which literally translates to “I like it too much.” This album is basically IU-approved. ♥️

I just love that 'Bout You is a throwback/continuation to Adore U, it adds so much dimension to the song for a 2015 Carat like me 😍. Also the fact that If You Leave Me was written for Carats ? Leader line really said "if Carats ever leave us, we'll drown in our tears" like 😭
the improvement of Mingyu's singing voice from that unsure and hesitant kid during pre-debut to actually squeezing my heart with his parts in 'Shadow' and 'IF you leave me' is beautiful ❤ i hope he gains more confidence from now on. also, SCoups stated on weverse that Mingyu's part after the 2nd chorus in SHADOW is the best one and that the members collectively agree so. btw, I reacted the same as you when I listened to the album so you're definitely NOT overreacting! i love it!
This has to be Album of the Year everyone. Every song in this album is sooo good. This is definitely a no skip album, period! And the title track, Hot...omg I am so obsessed with Hot.

As a long-time carat, I really like this album. Still very Seventeen vibe, the fun, positive energy, yet sophisticated and intriguing. The most impressive part is that the "face the sun" concept is throughout the songs. BTW, I enjoy your expressive reactions. That's the point of watching reaction videos.

gurl, i literally cried a river listening to if you leave me. the layer they put between woozi and wonwoo's singing voice is the most beautiful thing i've ever listened honestly. woozi is truly a music genius. and OMGGGG! that particular section in shadow; starting with mingyu's part all the way until the end of the song, my heart skipped a bit. i am touched??? the lyrics are soooo beautifully written please i'm still not over this album. a solid album . deserves all kind of awards imo.

That part you returned to in Shadow (Mingyu's part) was actually identified by someone from SVT as the killing part of that song and someone actually said he had goosebumps listening to it.
Also adding this most of the translations were wrong cause some parts were sung by other members while highlighting the wrong ones so next time i think its better to not watch from that page again!! Loved the reaction tho
