I've been listening to Buckethead on and off since perhaps 1994 when I was about 16. I am so grateful and amazed that he is still playing and making music
I can’t believe I did NOT listen to buckethead until 2000. My friend introduced me to colma, I was hooked immediately. Nobody played deep peaceful like that. No rock guitarist did. NONE. Before buckethead. Uli jon Roth Jimi Hendrix were my main guitarist for decades, many other Jason Becker and lot of shrapnel guys from Mike varneys lable. I seen buckethead column in guitar magazine from 93 or 93. Nuno bettencourt was on cover. And I tried to learn tab from that buckethead page. It was supposed to be chicken pickin style. At the time I already had Albert lees starlick video on vhs adapting some of chicken pickin. But bucketheads made NO sense the notes were deliberate out of key. This was mid to late 90s I never listened to buckethead ever. The tab from bucketheads colume guitar practicing mustang bothered me enough, I took the magazine with me to studio guitarist friend I went to highschool with who knew music theory. He was into jazz stuff in guitar class surrounded by us playing Iron Maiden Motley Crue songs rock you you like hurricane (we were stupid playing pentatonic scale everything) on nylon string guitars. Anyway I took his place my friend looks at tab , he says, wow your right’ this tab doesn’t make sense? I didnt know buckethead or any other guitarist back then who played free style jazz improvise ‘Noise’ which buckethead and Pat metheny both are influenced by Derick Bailey ‘noise’ free style jazz (no root or key) ‘Noise’ Buckethead played that style (mindless shred) also (chicken pickin farm fiddlin out of key notes) especially during nineties , electronic beats whatever, shredding bad acid trip whatever.
@DannyHood-j Never heard of that Bailey guy.. I'm going to look him up! I think Inmaybhave had that Guitar world magazine! Was there an Extreme song tabbed out as well??
The title is very meaningful since i just got married at an arboretum, assuming it means like a nature field for lack of better word. Bucket you the best!
