It was not an improvised joke..not bad and I understand that all of them have some material in their pockets for the show but the kid is not nearly as smooth as the others
I’m not gonna lie I feel like Burnham’s joke is still what’s funny about that exchange and Shandling’s is just a riff off that but people got all amped for Shandling for some reason and that dude stood up and did cringe finger guns
@@pikaspoderman6206 nah, it's a guy named Bob Zmuda. He was friends with comedian Andy Kaufman, who created the character Tony Clifton, and he later inherited the character from him after Andy died
@@tjwhisenhunt1089 He was friends and writing partner with Andy. He created Tony with with Andy. Part of the gag was that everyone would think it was Andy doing TV specials and interviews as Tony and it would be Zmuda. It wasn't after he died. He was doing it while his was alive as a way to mess with people. He also created Comic Relief.
I don't understand how it's possible for Patrice O'Neal and Bob Saget to have such good chemistry but man those little moments make me laugh more than anything.
Not sure if they have a problem with eachother or not. Do they? If you say that based on Bob Saget dropping the N bomb then it's kinda funny. Patrice has always been 100% behind saying anything you can think of. Another thing to add would be Patrice being surrounded by comedians that dropped the N bomb also, like Rosanne lol
@@Dahstin5311 I think you misunderstood me, I'm saying the opposite- I'm saying it's clear that Patrice and Bob get on really well from how they joke around and bounce off each other.
@@tomdavies9004 there is a very obvious mutual respect between Patrice and Bob Saget even though they're ripping on each other. Roseanne seemed to love him as well.
I disagree completely. Patrice is just not funny at all; his humor is very bass, and seems completely dependent on denigrating white people, for no particular reason or pertinance. Never understood why anyone ever thought he was funny. Just a very base insult comic.
God, I forgot how amazing Provenza's show was. Having all of those great comedians together was absolutely classic. I would absolutely love to see a show like that come back. While there have been several similar shows in the past, I can't think of one that's on right now.
I used to loved it when comedians lost themselves in the moment and were just trying to make each other laugh and not worrying about the audience there were some moment's of pure comedy magic.
Kumail Nanjiani held his own surprisingly well. He wasn't green, but he was no where near the level of the others on the panel when this aired. Bo Burnham made me proud with just two killer jokes.
The most amazing thing about Green Room to me is that they get the most contrasting comedians, all representative of a different brand of comedy, and every single one of them has their moment. There’s no script to speak of, but even the comics I barely knew or didn’t like all say something unbelievably clever at some point.
Well if you know anything about Andy Kaufman (RIP) and the Tony Clifton character you would know this was what it was all about. Watch any documentary on Andy or watch the Jim Carrey movie Man On The Moon.
Mr Cheeser it’s hilarious seeing that comment and thinking of how much “backlash” he would get for it. It would be hilarious because that’s what he’s known for. It’s like people trying to cancel Joji because he was originally filthy frank.
31:00 Damn Jim Jeffries is good. Old boy across the table though he'd try to intimidate him, and Jim destroyed him with 2 jokes off the top of his head. nicccccccce
Not sure if you knew this, but Burr Patrice and Colin all worked and hung out at the same comedy club when they were coming up. Jim Norton and Kevin Hart also. There are tons of stories about the Comedy Cellar days with that gang.
You should check out Colin Quinn's Tough Crowd. It was the original this. Came out about 7 years before this. A lot of the same comedians before they were as big as they were here. Patrice still controlled the room even then.
The thing that annoyed me about that is Bo nailed it, perfectly executed joke. Garry Shandling, may he Rest In Peace, didn’t have a comeback, all he said was “it’s so mutual” and everyone acted like it was the greatest joke. There was some old POS behind Bo who stood up to clap and only because Bo is a kid and Garry is older.
@@Stephen_KB By artfully rebounding it back at him. That’s called quick witted. Bo had a good quick witted reply in this show too with the “Okay, he had a ‘White’ sock.”
God if they brought this show back now it would be HUUUUGE. Comedy's BOOMIN right now and I would kill to see all the top guys do this now. Also, that guy in that horrible pink suit getting kicked out was wild.
A/ If I wanted to see Tom Segura, Bert, Ari, Rogan and Diaz sit around and talk about nothing I'd turn on a podcast. B/ The fact you don't know who Tony Clifton is... smh
@@_jonaldjames Yeah comedians who hang out with each other all the time aren't that funny together. Comedians who all see each other once a year in Montreal, bringing together all the different North American comedy scenes, well that's magic.
It's also a play on malaria. It sounds like he's going to say we can save millions of African lives with mosquito nets because of malaria but he turns it around with giving aids to mosquitos lol.
The best part of this show is there are so many comedians with understanding of timing that it feels even the trainwrecks become a premise to a punchline at the worst moment possible. It just becomes a non stop mess of laughter and "oh no he didn't"s
This has to be the best mass grouping of comedians show ever. It’s such a random clashing every time and it’s a no holds barred ribbing on each other at every corner
Santi Cruz its anxiety and he hasn’t overcome it but twisted it into something new and wonderful with his new movie Eighth Grade, which is honestly brilliant.
FKalo I never thought he was funny and honestly, find him annoying. I remember him from RU-vid, I was watching a stand up routine about him and I was like... this dude seems familiar is it the guy from RU-vid? When I found out it was, I was happy to see the dude made it that far. Even though, personally I don’t much care for his comedy. Though I see someone mentioned depression, that comes with being a comic it seems.
Patriece was such a genius. He's so right about not caring about making everyone laugh. I wish a had the opportunity for him to talk to me like he does to Bob. Both are legends and they are immortal, but very, very missed
Patrice owned every room he was in. He wasn't afraid to battle anyone, if you bested him, he's respected it, buy you better bring your A game if you're gonna voluntarily go back and forth with him.
Surprised that Doug Stanhope just casually destroying everyone in the room isn't on here. They showed a couple of his best bits but there was so much more.
Good comedians are notoriously sensitive. It’s where they get their intelligence and wit from. They are not emotionless drones incapable of feeling empathy. Comedy comes from tragedy.
Mr. Plinkett not really. She's dead serious. Joe Rogan talked about her on his podcast, how there was this comedian who was so funny but didn't have the courage to get on stage. One day he mustered up his courage and went on stage and I don't remember what "Politically Incorrect" thing he was in the middle of saying and she got on stage and shut him down because she didn't agree with him. You know how you've been trying to do a backflip but never dared to, and all you need is *one* smooth one to get the other ones coming but you end up face-planting on the ground and that's it you forget about daring to do that shit ever again cause your confidence got raped right in the fart box? Well apparently she caused this already awkward guy to not dare step on stage again, because of some PC stance she has. I never understood how you can be a comedian and at the same time be a weak-kneed, limp-wristed, lily-livered bitchass SJW...
Jim is a total beast, i love his humor, but somehow I think he's not very liked among other comedians, he's never mentioned on podcasts etc and he's totally brilliant
Jim Jeffries was already one of my favorite people ever, but all his reactions to Mooney are so great. I like him even more now. He was savage on here, love him.
I wish there were more episodes with more comics. This show is awesome and its just a few comics talking. No scripts or anything just saying how they think or feel. Thats reality tv to me
