Loved your work out. I just found it on Utube. I’m 81 and have been going to a gym for strength training but now that it is winter in the U.P. Of Michigan I would rather workout at home. Your video is perfect. I’m going to do your video two times a day. I have a rebounder that I use the other days for cardio!

Thank you and your mom for the work you put into these videos. Although I am not a senior yet, I have both rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, as well as neuropathy. I tried gym trainers and physical therapy in the past, but they all moved too fast and upped the weight too quickly for my body to keep up. I would end up worse off and in more pain. I gave up and eventually began training at home with 1 lb. weights at my own pace, in increments that are comfortable for me. Watching your videos has helped me a lot, especially making sure my form is right so I don't injure myself. My balance has also improved, which has helped relieve some of my hip and ankle pain. Even on days when I can't do a full workout due to flares, I can modify some stretches and movements to do sitting down. I appreciate both of you for helping me feel a little stronger and more in control.

Very good workout, great pointers on alignment and enjoyed how laid back it was with mother and daughter, workout should be enjoyable, far greater chance of staying consistent!! I’ll be using this often.

You are just who I want to be like! I’m in awe that you do this at 86 without much trouble. I am 62 and in the worst shape in my life thus far. Thankyou yet again, wonderful ladies. I finally dug up the courage to join you doing this routine. I was very pleased do the 25mins. I am going to add it to my weekly exercises but doubt if I shall be using 10lb weights. I only use 250g. .

The focus on strength is appreciated because it is challenging. Though twice weekly is advised, is there a limitation so that muscles may relax?

Glad to hear the workout is challenging -- each exercise should be difficult by the last repetition. This means you are on the road to building muscle. As you noted, at least 2 full body strength workouts a week are recommended. It is most important to allow at least one day of rest between strength training specific muscles to enable them to recover. But listen to your body -- for example, if your biceps are still very sore after 1 day of rest, keep resting until the soreness subsides. I hope this is helpful. We applaud your focus on getting stronger! ❤️

hi April, this was nice and challenging. Amazing how the arms can feel weak. I have weights that are 0.5 kilos, 1.5 an 2.00 kilos. I was wndering if you have or could create exercises to strenghten the legs. I keep paying for the gym but never go. After work I can't be bothered to get changed. Iam 72 and still work full time as a Personal Assistant but will retire to Spain in |March. Then I will have more time to do it all hopefully. Thank you so much for it all.

Thank you for another great workout! I have a question - I have a torn rotary cuff and can't lift my right arm over my head with some of the exercises. I would like to know if I should just hold the weight steady while lifting the left arm or not use a weight at all in the right arm and lift it for as long as I can? I hope my question makes sense. Thank you!

Hi there! Your question makes total sense. Please skip or modify the exercise to protect your shoulder. Your modifications are fine -- you shouldn't feel any pain while you do the moves. ❤️

It's great that you are a young 75 and walk a lot. Overall strength and flexibility in the lower body, upper body, and core are necessary to get up from and down to the floor with ease. Doing strength training can help build muscle to needed to do these these actions. We have workouts to build muscle in all of those areas. First time doing one of your videos. Picked you over others first because you are actually wearing decent clothes. I do not want to watch half-naked women exercise! 2. because I'm pushing 60 and need to get in shape badly. I did find I had to go slower at the beginning of the video because, wow, I'm out of shape and stiff. Definitely need to improve my flexibility. I looked specifically for a 2 lb weight workout because that is what I have. You 2 are sweet! I am so glad you included your mom in this.😊 3) Great background music. I barely noticed it and that's great as I find most music very distracting in videos. I wanted to concentrate on what you were saying and focus on using my muscle groups and good form. Together this helped me do that. Thank you!❤

im chronically ill, have been since i was a kid and now im 30. after some surgeries, ive gained weight and im trying to lose it. i find that these senior exercises are so gentle but effective, especially for my bone issues and severe asthma it makes me happy to see how much care you have for your mama to keep her healthy too.
