Hi all 🤗 I hope you found this useful and entertaining! I'd love to know what your latest blind buy fails OR gems are, AND also what you have had your eye on but you just know it's probably not blind buy safe... drop it in the comments - I'm so curious - and I know we all have thoughts on whether perfumes can be blind buy "safe" or not (yeah, what do you think?). If you liked this, please don't forget to support this channel by clicking LIKE and Subscribe before leaving! Thank you so much for watching and being here - Wishing you all a great week. ❤️
Haha, thank you Mel! 🤣😅🤗 And it was so hard to edit this tbh because my background is lacking and I’m learning my lighting in this space etc…I’m going to be working on making it a bit better and more exciting for sure 👌🏼♥️
Ok, skatole is literally the molecule responsible for making our poo stink😂 I’m not kidding. I get that perfumers want to push the boundaries but I’ll stick to my woody vanillas, thank you very much😅 I blind bought Zara’s RWA and that one is so safe. But I’m a sample girl so I almost never buy full bottles without paying for a sample or decant first. As always, thanks for the great vid!!
Hahaha! Yeah, I had to look it up to be sure because I just could not believe that it would be purposefully put into the perfume straight up like that! 😫 And, agreed, I love the experimentation but for "unwearable" experiments, we only need samples for the "experience", right?😅 I mean, I still want to smell Secretions Magnifiques... but I don't think I need a bottle of it. 🥴 Ahhh, Zara perfumes. Still such a mystery to me. But also, there are so many of them, I wouldn't know where to start! Thank you, Chelsea. ❤️🤗
First: 3k!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🙌 Congrats Charlotte!! Now, SK is kinda like Zadig?!? Now I’m in trouble because you know I love lactonic frags as much as you do and I should not be buying right now darn it🙈🙈🙈 I got a 30ml of This is her when Fragrancebuy notified me it was back in stock and of course I LOVEDDDD it so much and you know what I did next?! Immediately ordered a 100ml😬in case they would go out again. I’m so weak🤪 Next blind buy would be Amber oud Gold or Jasmine Wisp (ain’t got the coin for Erba Pura) which one I should go for ya think?!
Thank you, Julie! ❤️❤️ So far, This is Her is the Queen of Lactonics to me, still, haha! (And, well, if there is one that is back up bottle worthy, this is one that is!) BUT, like I said, there's some nice milkiness in the dry-Down of SK. 🥰 I personally have a penchant for Jasmine Wisp because I find it a tad more feminine and gourmand with the coconut and white florals, but I know some people love the Amber Oud Gold. If you really like Erba Pura, I doubt you would be disappointed in either one of them though, tbh. 👌🏼
@@CharlotteRossx tnx Charlotte😘!! And speaking of white florals and coconut, as we seem to have very similar tastes, you have to get your nose on Serge Lutens Datura Noir. Have a great day Beauté💞
i am 2:35 minutes in... and you already know which of the perfumes i WANT to get ! i don't even know anything about it..... but yeah.... 😀 OMG ! i think i changed my mind .... hahhahahaha
No!!!!!!!!! Get rid of red door revealed!!! You are dedicated to the cause LOL. I'm guessing it's for reference. Either that or the good of humanity in that you are not selling it on... 😂
Thank you, Veronica! 😘😘 And, I know right?! I truly wonder what you would think of the other one - I know you fully give every fragrance a chance (LOVE that! 😍) and it would be interesting to know what you think.
I’m dying with the beginning of the video.. you described my shopping sprees perfectly. I always tell myself “ok girl, you are set for this season. You do not need anymore perfumes!” And then either the sales, that one fragrance that is never in stock magically is, new releases. 🤦🏻♀️😩 it just never ends. 😂🤣
So glad that you love SK. I'll commit to it a bit more to see if I get the lactomic notes. I'm at the dry, spicy, woodiness point with it. Great video!
Thank you, Kia! 🤗 Let me know if you do get some creaminess. 🥰 All the Lancome Fragrances from this line so far that I've tried I find take a few wears to get to know and can take you on a bit of trip!
Hi Charlotte! I adore Cocaine by Franck Boclet! It does smell like Orchid Soleil, which I also love. Orchid Soleil was nowhere to be found so I bought this instead.
Thank you so much for sharing Lalada! You inspire me to keep experimenting with the Franck Boclet.🥰 And yes, do you know if Orchid Soleil is discontinued?
I owned the Lancome one. It was too powdery for me. Almost too elegant for a man lol. The dry down was nice though. I gave it 2 full wearings before I got rid of it. I also own Cocaine. It reminds me of FM Carnal Flower so much that I'm considering selling the Frédéric Malle.
lol... I have been so curious about Franck Bocklet Cocaine as well and have thought about buying it. One that I bought recently from Fragrancebuy was Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Incenso. I heard good things about it, but I think it's just too much incense! There's a weird, sour note that comes along with it. I think it would make a perfect, weird Halloween scent, but it smells like one of those alternative stores or shops that burn tons and tons of incense. I'm going to try it a couple more times but I may just sell it.
Omgoodness, yes! Velvet incenso is totally one of those I had at the back of my mind but I just knew was probably not blind buy « safe » 😂 Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it - I’m still super intrigued but what you’re saying is kind of confirming my suspicions. I love incense in perfume, but I like when it adds mystery and depth - I don’t necessarily want to smell like straight up incense, you know? - sometimes it can be overpowering. Would love to hear your updates along the way for Velvet Incenso. Thanks so much for sharing and being here. 🤗♥️
There is something strange in Orchid Soleil as well. I was smelling it one day and there was something strange in it that was familiar that I couldn’t place. Then I hopped on fragrantica and someone nailed it- corn tortillas. Truly, it smells like corn tortillas is a weird way.
Yes! I’ve heard of that - I haven’t smelled Orchid Soleil myself but the way people say it smells like corn tortillas reminds me of unintentional buttered popcorn scents - it’s so strange! 🥴
@@CharlotteRossx it has not been easy to find a bottle of this fragrance as it is retired. That search was over yesterday when I found a brand new unopened sealed from a Lancôme representative a friend knows and she sold it to me. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I loved the video 💕 I blind bought Aura by Mugler knowing that it could go wrong…and it certainly went wrong😅 It’s a very original smell but it didn’t work for me at all. The vanilla mint mixture is just so weird and intense. I can’t stand it but I’ll keep it because the bottle is gorgeous 😁 Thank you Charlotte 😘
Oooh, Eva - I feel you on that one! Aura is *so* not blind buy safe 😅 I still am on the fence with it. Weird and intense are the words! It can get cloying with it's green accord yet it has an addictive quality to me at the same time... The bottle really is special. 🥰 Thanks so for much for being here, Eva! Always love seeing a comment from you. ❤️
Wow I haven’t been here in so long! And I’m not even going to leave one of my award winning long comments 😜 But I will say that the Santal Kardamon really does interest me! (Even though my worst blind buy of all time also started with the word Santal- Santal Musc by Narciso Rodriguez)
Hi Tammy! 🤗 Oh my, can I tell you something? I blind bought Santal Musc a while back too 😅 It's not a total fail for me BUT it was not what I thought it would be. I thought it would be my perfect holy grail sandalwood 😂 It's definitely more masculine leaning, and quite dry and powdery. And the musk can smell a taaaaad dirty in it. I like the dry-down enough but as a stand alone perfume it's not my fave either. I don't know if that was your experience - but I'd love to hear yours! Thanks so much for being here. ❤️
@@CharlotteRossx YES!!!! That is exactly it! I don’t hate it, but if I’d only bought a sample first, I would have known that it didn’t interest me enough to buy a full bottle, and it’s fairly pricey LOL ..but the way you described it is exactly the way I feel about it, I agree 100%- dry, dusty, but the dry down is pretty nice after a few hours. It might be good for layering with scents that I find way too sweet 🤷🏻♀️
@@CharlotteRossx I hate to say this but some days I have to purposely ignore the frag world on RU-vid so that the algorithm will change and keep me away from buying more stuff. 💀
H! I recently blind bought Sandalwood Temple by Sana Jardin and it is gorgeous! So soft & creamy and not at all ‘heavy’. That was a winner! I think Killian’s Love, or Black Phantom would be on my blind buy list….
Oh, that Sandalwood Temple looks divine! Now that's one I'd like to try; that one and Santal Carmin by Atelier. And both those Kilian's are right there on my list as well - so very tempting, both of them. 👌🏼 Thanks for sharing, M. ❤️🤗
@@CharlotteRossx I had a sample of Santal Carmin and compared it to Sandelwood temple and while they were quite similar, the Sandlewood temple was just more ‘feminine’ and the fruit notes lifted it and added a subtle sweetness to the creamy woods. The best way to describe it, is like a smooth delicate whisper whereas to me, Santal carmin was like an in your face shout. Bit weird to describe that way, but I hope it helps! 🥰🤍
sandalwood is my child lol. I recently purchased "This is him" for my husband and needless to say I could keep my hands of it so had to but a bottle for myself. Incense and sandalwood 😍😍😍
Freaking love this comment, haha! Ugh, yeeeessss! This is him is such a good incense sandalwood scent! And so strong and long lasting. I can’t wait to talk about it more in my Zadig video. It pairs really well with this is her btw, if you haven’t tried layering them already. 👌🏼😘
Hi Charlotte. I think you may be onto something with the Lily + tuberose = possible bad breath. I should have totally loved Vert Malachite. It was aaalmost there for me. But no joke, it has a very prominent accord of stinky breath ; like I haven't brushed my teeth all day, I licked my skin and the saliva dried there and I proceeded to spray white flower perfume over top. Yack! Totally ruined Vert Malachite for me.
Hi, Tasha! Oh, woooow-Thanks so much for sharing that.. I have been so intrigued by Vert Malachite (I have yet to smell it) and this is VERY good to know. 👌🏼❤️
My recent blind buys: Maboussin pour femme- good, complex, very 90-ties autumn fragrance. They do not make fragrances so complex any more. I like it a lot but do not recommend blind buy. Raghba Lataffa- it is just awful. I have not expected this as notes are great. It smells like unclean body and saliva. It Goes to bin so thanks God it was cheep. Thank you Charlotte. Another great video! :)
Thank you so much for those shares! Maboussin sounds interesting, and Raghba seems so divisive in the reviews - it really seems to be a love or hate. Somehow I haven't picked it up yet and I still don't know if I will. Your description is so specific and does not make me want to get it, haha! 😅😅 I'm really glad you enjoyed it - thank you for being here. 🤗❤️
I have had Cocaine on my list forever I can't wait for ur review cuz u seem to have such similar taste to me- Lmao eta- see? Such benign looking notes and not at ALL what I would have expected
I tried cocaine. It’s 30 mins of my life I will never regain🤢🤮 it is not blind buy safe. My son came home from school one day and told me « go take a bath » 😂
I am literally here because I am about to blind buy Santale Kardamon or whatever it’s called. I got it. If I hate it I’ll be back if I live it I’ll be back 😁
It's a very gentle (but lasts all day) yet unique scent like cozy and comforting without being heavy. You should try it. There are always people selling bottles on different sites.
Hi. New subscriber here. I enjoyed this review. So would you say that Maison Lancome Santal Kardamom is very similar to Zadig & Voltaire For Her? I mean if you have the latter, should you even try the former, since MLSK is a lot more expensive?
Hi and welcome! I wouldn't say it's similar at all to be honest - Z&V is definitely way sweeter and gourmand whereas Santal Kardamom is quite spicy and woodier and has that prominent leather accord you won't find in This is her. Also less lactonic than This is her for sure. Definitely sample if you're intrigued!
@@CharlotteRossx - you are right! I ordered a sample of Santal Kardamon - (apparently the official name though it should be an m at the end, shouldn't it?) - loved it so much I hunted down a bottle - and definitely prefer it to Z&K - which is definitely sweeter. Thanks! The Maison Lancomes are mostly discontinued now though - and harder and harder to find - and expensive even if you do. But us perfume addicts find a way to prevail - don't we? 😅😂
@@scp5577 I didn’t notice the spelling on Kardamon! And yes, it must be a special Lancôme-exclusive name/spelling. 😆 Those Lancôme fragrances were already pretty hard to come by when I filmed this and now they must be pretty rare unfortunately. 😓 Definitely, we find a way though, ahah! Thank goodness for fellow fragheads and resell groups. 🥰 I’m glad to hear you like this one and I hope you can get your hands on it. 🤞🏼 thanks for the update! ❣️
I just recently smelled a sample and I can say it reminds me a bit of a mishmash of a few perfumes - a bit of beach walk, vanilla vibes, a tad bit of mutiny... but I'm sure it smells like some other ones I might not have smelled before either. From the sample I have, it's very nice, but definitely not unique. Did it remind you of a perfume in particular?
