Another thing I think is really missing is how can they make a japanese world and not add a second tea maker?! Maybe inspired by tea ceremony on a little bamboo tray or something. We got like 10 coffee machines and a single tea maker which isn't really pretty..

I can't believe no one is talking about the lily pads that are coming with the pack. If you put them in water, there are KOI FISH that swim around underneath them! So no more dead fountains, dead ponds, etc!!!

The items are totally amazing and droolworthy. I have to say though, there are two huge missed opportunities. One is a traditional futon bed which would be brilliant as an alternative to murphy beds. Also I really don't get why we needed more western type beds. The other thing is the tub. While it is gorgeous, something you literally see everywhere in Japan are tiny soaker tubs (also combined with showers). A 1-tile-tub would have been something new and very japanese where space saving furniture is a huge thing.. So yes I love the items but I feel they missed a few huge opportunities to add very typical things that would have tied in perfectly with tiny living.

I agree with these! I'd also love a low dining table with floor cushions that wasn't a kotatsu! That being said all those items would likely require new animations and therefor a lot more work to develop. I think that's likely the reason we didn't get them

I agree we don’t need another activity table, but I am very glad we got this one. I like that it’s so neutral. I like the less ‘in your face’ style.

I am SO excited about the no shoes sign. I know it's pretty normal to wear shoes indoors in the states, but in Canada it's standard practice to remove shoes at the door.

I don't know anyone who regularly wears shoes in their house (I'm in the states in the Midwest) so I'm super excited as well! I had a mod that made sims take shoes off indoors, but then they would take them off in public lots as well which was obviously weird 😂

My family from the states wear shoes inside, my grandparents did the same during the summer too. I always found it odd. But we get on average 8 months of snow out of the year so if you don't take your shoes/boots off you just track snow and mud everywhere. 😅

@@cheyechamney that's so strange to me lol maybe it's regional or just family to family. The only time I might keep my shoes on is if my shoes are dry and the person has hardwood but even then it's just habit to remove them.

@@jess1469 I think most of my misperception comes from television. That and my American family members, so the combo of those two led me to believe that it was normal for most of the states. I learned something new today!!

I LOVE how you added debug items into this. Becuase a lot of times i dont know where sims builders get all these debug items. Plus, i play on console so i rely on debug items to give my house a little more flare

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS PACK!!!!! 😍😭❤️ I minored in Japanese studies in university and lived in a small town in Japan for one summer, and so seeing the items in this pack makes me so happy and nostalgic! ❤️ I’m glad they actually put thought into these items and the new features, and I can’t wait to see more Asian style sim builds!!!! The bar items look like they’re modeled after “Izakaya” style bars (young people in Japan hang out in them for social gatherings or to find a date)! The sand circles and outdoor stones/sculptures are for zen gardens and shrines! VENDING MACHINES!! I’m the most excited for the curved red bridge in the debug menu!!!!! 😍😭❤️

Ironic that the Snowy Escape embargo lifted the same day that we got our first snow fall here. So While it was snowy outside I got to watch all these snowy escape videos... but only its not an escape for me :p I enjoy your build/buy overview scine you are a builder.

Kinda disappointed that there aren't any futons since this is a japanese inspired pack. And no high windows like those base game full wall height windows. But oh well something is is something. I guess I'll keeping using the cc windows I recolored

Omg that second swatch from the mailbox kinda reminded me of Totoro! 😍 I think this pack and eco lifestyle are the best packs the Sims team ever made. There's so much thought put into and it just feels complete! I don't miss anything at all in this pack, neither game play wise nor building wise 😊

Love this pack soooo much! I watched the livestream and at one point they mentioned that because of the height limitations platforms can create, you can actually make spaces that are not very tall and only children or toddlers can enter due to their shorter heights! Excited for that possibility. Doesn't that mean you can now make tiny homes that have short height loft bedrooms up above for kids using the platforms and the kids can climb up using ladders?

Not only are those big, plain windows square, but there are square doorways and half-of-a-square-shaped windows and doors, so they all work together and look very balanced. The doorway/open doors thing would be great between rooms or maybe even as a garage door.

one thing I would go nuts for is a combo toilet/sink. theyre fairly common in japan and theyd be life changing for tiny builds and for ecohomes. (the idea is that the water you use to wash your hands fills the toilet tank and gets reused to flush the toilet instead of just disappearing down the drain)

So good to see another outdoor toilet/bush. And I agree this one will be much more useful than the others (that said, I use the Jungle Adventure one in so many builds as it is, and rags to riches gameplay)

You can use the large door for a living room or a dining area besides your backyard, its nice to have a large opening looking at your backyard garden while eating at your dining table 💓

As I builder, I can't wait for platforms but we should be able to have them 'floating' so we can place things or even have sims walk underneath them. But they're going to be great for creating usable mezzanines.

Really well done showing of all the new build items in the pack. I'm disappointed that there aren't any micro-apartments or a capsule hotel, though! I guess that's hard to do when they haven't given us hotels or the ability to build apartments yet!

I'm super excited about this pack! So much new stuff and it looks great for building... I'm also eager to see some gameplay. This might be one of the few packs I get soon after release if the reviews sound good! Oh, btw, I agree with all of your impressions (so many and such agreements, this stuff is so cute and distinctive and platforms look super versatile), but I wanted to add that the cute town mascot made me think of a segment John Oliver did on Last Week Tonight, quite a while ago now, involving an otter. I highly recommend it if you've never seen it before; it's pretty amusing and you can probably find the segment on RU-vid. Shinjo-kun is the official city mascot, Chiitan is an unofficial one, and Chiijohn is the mascot their show created. I'm hoping (I think they showed us in the trailer but I can't remember for certain) that, on top of the new cold-weather wear, we also get a new costume like that! XD
