Wow!! I love that bridge and can't wait until July 1st to travel it, this video is a keeper the same as the night video of crossing this beautiful bridge. Thanks for bringing us along.
Thanks. I decided it is finally time to share the footage of the entire bus ride, having made that guide on how to take the bus. I must also take the time to get on a double decker bus and record the footage from the upper deck as well. Just to give you a head's up, the next video I upload will show quite a lot of attractions around Macau, so please be sure to check back.
@@millvee1005 Most definitely. The climate of Macau is basically the same as Hong Kong, where temperatures are around 30C or 86F in the summer. Better get a lot of short sleeve shirts and a bottle of sunscreen ready!
You can certainly go to Hong Kong without worrying about any more Covid related restrictions. In fact, it may soon be possible (if not already) to get on a coach to cross the bridge as soon as you arrive without even clearing immigration when you arrive at Hong Kong.
i am so impress with this long bridge that shortened the travel time fr.hk to macao. i experienced in yr 2000 going to macao fr.hk by boat.it took 2hrs plus that boat ride suck.i almost vomit because of the way the jet moved.this is a very will thought mega project.what part of hk this bridge start.is it in tsingyi island or lantao.because ived seen some parts of the construction close to tsing yi.
Sorry to hear that. Yes, the ferry is quite fast but can bob up and down quite a bit when the sea is rough. Another good thing about the bridge is that the shuttle buses operate 24 hours.
@@kylohk I was on the buses on a return journey to Macau on 6th of March (last week). Scenic route. Same bus service as shown in your video. Went through the immigration checkpoints at each end.
@@angelswings7024 That's good to hear. It is always good to step away from all that artificial glamour of the casinos and experience the local culture.
That may actually be a good idea. I had to hold the action camera in my right hand throughout the entire ride and take a lot of effort to keep it as steady as possible despite the rocking motion of the bus. You could not imagine how stiff my arm was by the time I have finished! But then again, I remembered someone may have been sitting to my right, so I would not want to get into trouble, that's for sure!
The Hong Kong checkpoint is entirely step free and all departure facilities are located on the same level so you do not have to take a lift to go up and down. There is a space of at least one wheelchair in the double decker buses, to my understanding. Meanwhile, you need to take several lifts up and down to clear immigration at the Macau checkpoint.
@@kylohk do u think HK or MO will ever half to switch to right-hand traffic? I'd assume it's too expensive so it will likely stay as is. Macau is a lot smaller tho, so switching for them could be a loteasier than Hong Kong.
The speed of this coach is limited to a maximum of 80 km/h during the entire journey and in the mainland section only (the speed limit is 70 km/h in the Hong Kong section). So you can effectively cross the bridge at a maximum speed of 160 km/h when you double the playback speed!
At a bare minimum, you will need 2 licenses plates on your car, a Hong Kong one and a Mainland China one. On the Hong Kong side, you will need a permit to drive into the restricted area where the vehicle checkpoint is located. You will obviously need to have bought car insurance valid in both Hong Kong and the Mainland. It gets even more complicated if you would like to drive to Macau. If you are happy with parking your car at the Park and Ride facility at the Macau border checkpoint, you only need to buy car insurance valid in Macau and book the required time slot(s) at the car park. However, if you would like to drive around Macau, you will need a Macau license plate which is very hard to get.
I have made a video of my and my relatives crossing the bridge by car: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LB2mwmSDl6.html It took us nearly 29 minutes to go from the Hong Kong border checkpoint to the toll plaza past the Zhuhai end of the bridge. The total length of the route is around 55km.
