The Wang-Koo meeting mentioned by Ma Ying-Jeou in Singapore took place in 1993. The 92 Consensus (九二共识) is a different meeting between China-Taiwan officials on 92, the term itself was now hotly contested by the DPP.

I'm sure Ma Ying- jeou was delighted to meet Xi Jinping in Singpaore ....but I wonder why Ma Ying-jeou didn't proceed further to have a negotiation for the peaceful reunification? Instead, he started to call for a status quo of "不统不武不独" ... why?? And whenTsai Ing-wen was elected, then obviously it's not possible to have any dialogue at all because she doesn't accept the "92 consensus" ... and she doesn't accept the fact that the mainland region and the Taiwan region are part and parcel of one CHINA. No choice now .. but to hope that, after the election, the newly elected leader of ROC(Taiwan), the governing authority of the Taiwan region of one CHINA, will take heed of PM LHL's advice that it will be risky and will have dangerous consequences to change the international understanding of "one CHINA" and to spin this domestic "Taiwan issue" among the Chinese people living on both sides of the Taiwan Strait into international contest of democracy vs autocracy. We hope there will be a dialogue again soon and negotiation for a peaceful reunification. 两岸一家亲, 家和万事兴 !! 台湾海峡和平万岁 !!

and the higher rates of unemployment, haywire public housing prices, resentment between native Singaporeans and PRs/new citizens. TBH, i see more Malaysian chinese (PRs or now citizens) in civil and well as in the public sector than those born here (the ones whose parents helped his father's amazing team build this nation). i really liked him, but can't help feeling extremely disappointed with his and some of this ministers.

@@ezek7 it’s a fact when you want higher wages, lower paying jobs will move out, unemployment is part of it, so upskill is till a certain extent, reskinning and not job protection is right. HDB prices , what is fair price? Everyone wants cheap and big. Best free. There are limitations . What is considered excessive and wastage? Everyone wants work little get big paycheck. Yes you can say LSL can do better or not good enough. Even god can please everyone let alone Superman. If anyone think’s he better. Pls step up. You are welcome to show how competent you are. No systems of governments are fool proof. Taiwanese said Singapore are not democratic, because 1} no change of government 2) media can’t write freely without consensus (free speech) etc. Pass elections proves opposition wins are possible. Every votes casted are counted. Free speech? You can say you hate to the core about LSL, you won’t get sue, but if you can’t proof his wrongdoing,is only fair either party can seek justification in court. You see Taiwan elections campaigning, lies are everywhere. When got caught just ignore and move on. Public opinions of Taiwanese government are corruptions etc.. Elections is every few years, people day to day needs like housing,jobs, personal security . In Taiwan water , electricity, threat of war, crimes with fire arms are daily events. Earthquake and typhoons? HK Superman Li Kar Shing commentaries deserves a look. Are we over demanding of our government? Does Singaporeans now really want instant results, shortsighted, blame gaming?

Singapore's GSP per capita: 2005: US$30,000 2020: US$60,000 (doubled in 15 years) 2023: US$90,000 (increased another US$30k in three years) Can see how Singapore is open to money laundering? From 2005 - 2023: Under-employed and jobless PMET become serious problems. Exaggerated housing problem. Middle-income households can't afford to own a car. Coffee shops have become open bars that create spitting, smoking, littering, and noise problems. Half the economy is relying on low-income locals and foreigners to sustain. Even haircutting has become a low-income industry that provides jobs for foreigners such as Malaysians. The list goes on... Ha ha ha!

I have come across quite a number of Singaporeans supporting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, quoting fight against colonialism and US’s interference in the past against other countries.They do not seem to understand why you also have to stand up against Russia snd countries like China trying to overturn the UN and current rules according to the charter when you criticises the US. It appears to me they are much influenced by chauvinism be it racial ,regional or otherwise than right thinking. I think this kind of approach is going to create a more unstable world and never believe that countries like China and Russia are going to be fairer to you if they win this struggle with open aggression and economic coercion; Pipe dream

Can u pls go look up the wars the US has been involved in directly and indirectly across the world after WW2 than perhaps u can understand and appreciate better why there are people that side with the Russians on the Ukraine war. Most of us side with Russia not because we think Russia is right to invade Ukraine, most of us side with Russia because we know Russia feels threaten and the war in Ukraine is to stop NATO expansion all around Russia. How much do u understand about the Zelensky Ukraine regime? It is run by N@zi elements of the Ukrainian people mostly from the western Ukraine and they have no qualms of killing their own people. Zelensky himself has enrich himself from a comedian to now a billionaire go do some research see how many properties a comedian turned politician has earn ever since he became President of Ukraine. The world is never black or white so stop trying to see geopolitics and keep reading and looking at mainstream media its all western and US propaganda if u have seen thru all of this time to wake up. Countries like Russia or China has interest but how they go about achieving this end can be seen if u go look thru history to understand them better. On the issue of Ukraine, Singapore has to take instructions from Daddy America. Period. You're naive if you got hoodwinked by his words. Did he say anything for Palestinians and Syrians? Singapore's economic health requires huge investment opportunities for the large amount of money (local and foreign-owned) here. China is a giant economy that can take in big funds from Singapore. We can't keep saying NO to Daddy America, thus, it is convenient to say YES on the Ukraine issue. Ha ha ha!
