Thank you for this! It’s so hard to be vulnerable and show that we are human. I have had to have similar conversations with my students that also made me question my calling but as you said, there’s always joy to be found. Thank you for opening your heart to us but to your students as well. I agree 100% with you that they too need to see our struggles and frustrations. To talk to them openly say they know they’re not alone. I hate that most people think teaching is a fairy tale and unicorns, but we know it isn’t. We have hard days just like anyone else. We have to put on fake faces to teach these kids. We have to be their support when they’re having a hard day. It’s a lot for us teachers to have to handle. So thank you for your open heart.

I am one of those teachers that cries when I have to correct students the same way. I have taught in different atmospheres, including 2 church schools, and have the same issues that I had in public school. It is good to get these things off your chest, it helps.
