Great video! The lane changes are real slick and responsive. You bring up some great points about follow distance. I would love to see the eventual metrics that comma might be able to gather about the safety effects of all of these different possible settings. Wouldn't it be interesting in the future to see the net accident results from millions of miles driven with different follow distance settings? It could answer if it's safer to "fit in" more with the traffic? Or is it safer to go "against the flow" and result in more aggressive drivers overtaking you? But then, I guess that wouldn't take into consideration if a setting has increased the risk of other drivers getting annoyed and then getting into an accident with another car? The cause and effect is a complicated question. I'll bet that the "perfect" driving profile is something that we could never predict until the accident data comes in.

Thank you for posting, this is great. I thought Shane's fork restored the 5 MPH increments to the set speed when you hold the RES/SET on the cruise stalk. I was hoping that would be the end of furiously flicking the stalk.

If I install Shane’s fork, will I still get the automatic updates from openpilot every few months?

I have a 2018 Prius as well. I’m considering returning it because it has some pretty bad ping-ponging. Did you ever notice any with yours?

My 2018 puris did come with the lane tracing and the LDA has never worked hardly at all took it to the dealer they said they are all like that

I just setup the Comma 3 in our 2018Prius Prime. Waiting for the mount to dry! I got the mount level and as high up as I could get it and still be able to remove the unit, but I accidently installed it about an inch left of center. Hopefully that isn't a big deal.

Do you have your Comma 2 still? Interested in buying it for my Prime!

Can you explain for non car and program nerds what is going on here? What is comma? What is a discord? All i know is you are using some open source software to drive your car. It's there a beginner dummy proof explanation of what you are using, how to configure it, etc?

Have you noticed a significant difference between the comma 2 and comma 3? I know that the comma 3 has a wider FOV and better monitoring. But the driving experience, would you say it's similar to the 2 or is the 3 different?

Will comma block Shane's SA-master fork from their servers? And just what are we getting from the servers anyway?

I just got my comma 3 for my 17 Prius Prime. I notice when I engage open pilot on the fwy it tends to ping pong during the drive. Have you experienced this? If so, any recommendations on a fix?

Did you have to SSH into your C3 for the settings you mention in the description, or were those available by default? Also, I have a Toyota 2018 Prius Prime too, and I thought the DSU had to be intercepted or unplugged to enable longitude. I'm waiting for a cSDSU/SDSU to ship from China.

What is the longest trip you have used this on? Have you ever had any endurance problems?

I have a 2021 toyota highlander, It would take every one of those curves without engaging the warning alert. So the newer toyotas have better turning torque?
