Cnith TheOnliestOne falling victim to your circumstances doesn’t always correspond with your character. We all make bad decisions and sometimes it takes others longer to learn their lesson. My father has spent the last 13 years in prison and I can say undoubtedly, making no excuse for his actions, the he is a good person. We aren’t all always given the same opportunities to succeed in life and I believe he didn’t understand how to think ahead and make better choices. It happens.

It is not reasonable nor is it just to have to continue to pay for the same mistake. Americans dont rehabilitate. They incarcerate and when it comes to people of color they tend to be sentenced harsher than others. If a person commits and offense they owe a debt to society, but they dont owe their life. A person who finds themselves incarcerated will tell you the rate of recidivism is astounding. I dont have to know this mans particular offense to know anyone who enters into the system tends to stay in some capacity. @jabeck42 I dont know his offense. But in America its common knowledge when you enter the system, its hard to get out. People can have a drug offense like posession and unless they are financially able, they will take a plea deal(97% of cases are plea bargins). They may serve jail time if not probation. Any mistake gets them sent back potentially. Housing and finding a place to hire you, especially as a felon or someone with a drug offense or any offense frankly is difficult. You pay for what you did in jail ans continue to on the outside.

What she said is true BUT if someone want to do better than they will... I regularly watch all the Judge shows and Judge Mathis was just (this week) talking about the same thing but he gave a solution... start your own business!! He actually named an agency that helps ex cons get franchises for a cleaning service and even helps them obtain contracts... I have an ex con relative who is actually one of the most financially successful people I know... he started a moving company years ago and now its doing very well, he has contracts with sports teams, colleges, Best Buy, Home Depot, etc

Absolutely. I know prison can change people but there's a reason for-profit prisons exist and it's not for the bettering of repeat offenders. It is a modern day slave economy. There's too much money to be made by locking people up and that is disgusting.

Just finished watching. Women need to do better. 1st thing they they tell female Correction Officers is NEVER get involved with an inmate. She thought she was special doing things the other CO didn't do and let her guard down. She is hurting from crossing that line.
