You're a genius! Hourglass should absolutely do a build your own custom palette. I'd spend my $80 on that much faster than I would for a pre built palette!
I thought and said this many many times. First they need to get some really deep shades for deep dark skin and then also for medium dark skin and then do a make your own pallet thing

I think a great video idea would be a full face of your viewers “obscure” favorites. You could ask for everyone’s favorites that they think you don’t have in your collection. You’d then purchase those products and test them out!
I find that I can get four pretty different looks with that ND palette: smoked pinky look, a grayish silver, a neutral and champagne, and a browny gold.
Seriously! I adore hourglass products so much and every time I use them it makes me sad/frustrated/angry that people with deeper skin don’t get to experience how awesome they are. Why oh why would they not capitalize on that market? It makes zero sense!
Precisely why I refuse to purchase from them. They need to step their game up and it's pretty telling that at this point, they're choosing not to budge. It's such a shame, I'd love an opportunity to try their powders. I'm not even a deep skin tone, but there's no way in hell their powders would work for me....

1000% agree with those who mentioned the Lisa Eldridge lipsticks and glosses - they’re amazing!! I would also add that Sydney Grace eyeshadows are simply unparalleled in my collection (which includes ND, CT and PM palettes).
I agree that Sydney Grace shadows are better than PMG. I was really disappointed by the Mothership Subliminal I palette, the only one I own, and it doesn't come close to the SG formulas.
@@stacyechelberger I'm really disappointed in the PMG formula. The entire brand, especially the 10 pan eyeshadow palettes, have been fetishized since they launched. Everyone and their mother said the 4 special shades are worth the $125 cost alone and nothing else compares but either people are just taken in by the hype or I got a dud because my palette is dry, the metallics are lackluster and the special shades aren't at all special. I got it for 30% off last month but even at $84 I still feel like I got ripped off.

Nothing really has stood out to me from the brand so far with the exception of the single shadow, Divine Mink. I bought it for $5 at the Sephora VIB sale and it's an insanely beautiful metallic brown-gray! If it's still on her site, I highly recommend, especially as the singles are on sale.
Ugh that ND palette is so pretty! I can’t justify the price, though. My skin is cool toned so I’m tired of all of the warm tones of the past few years. That lipstick looks great with that palette!
@@gigigriffon4949 I'm going to have to disagree. I bought That's Taupe palette from ColorPop last month, hoping to dupe the Glam palette. I wasn't ready to spend more money on an expensive palette. I have bought 3 Natasha Denona palettes this year for the first time (Love, Safari, Metropolis palettes, and on sale) and there is NO comparison in quality! I also bought Alter Ego dupe palettes and they are nothing like ND quality. Natasha Denona palettes are pigmented, creamy, and easy to blend, with little to no fallout. The ColorPop palette is dull, with fallout, and the colors blend into mud. Talk about disappointing!😳😬 I was mad at myself for spending over $40 for ColoPop, when I could have bought the Glam palette. On a whim and feeling FOMO, I decided to bite the bullet and order the Glam palette after all, on the last day of the VIB sale, just before midnight. Evidently, I waited too long, the palette sold out and now I'm stuck with the worthless ColorPop palette. Lesson learned!😭
@Denise Vasquez Lemrick that’s right! Good point. I have that one plus a backup because it’s being discontinued 😪. But a great opportunity for everyone to grab it before it’s gone for good. Milani should have kept the Most Wanted line of palettes. They were the best ones they make.
I know cool eyeshadow palettes are not your go-to, but they look great on you. I would love to see a video comparing looks done with the ND Glam and Colourpop Stone Cold Fox palettes. However could you please do looks using the medium and light shades? I could never wear the dark looks you have done with these palettes.
I love the Glam palette for work. I can do looks that are gray, pink, gold, brown, but they are all soft enough to look appropriate for my particular workplace. Love.
I need another eyeshadow palette like I need a hole in my head, BUT.... as soon as Emily said you can pop the eyeshadow colors out of the pallet and rearrange them how it makes sense to you, I immediately wanted it!!! Not going to buy it but I want it!
It was the best 65 I've ever spent. And I never thought I'd ever spend that on eyeshadow! I do not regret it nor do I feel at all guilty about it. I use it almost every day. It's what I reach for. Lol

I adore this ND pallet. I have a lot of her palettes and this maybe my fave. I love how you can look at any grouping of 4 and get a look and how easily it transitions from every day to full glam with very little thought. Great video.
I was thinking about the glam palette but with all the unknown with work and life these days I went with the colourpop taupe palette for a cheaper cool toned palette option and really like that one for everyday looks
Wish Hourglass did bronzers for our deep skinned sisters... I’m lighter than you but hearing you RAVE about the product made me so sad for my deeper skinned friends who won’t be able to enjoy such a fabulous product.
I think it’s better than hourglass. I also think the wet n wild reserve your cabana bronzer (not at all a bronzer- great finishing powder for super fair skin) is the absolute best to use! Waaaay better than hourglass.
There are sooo many things I’ve gotten based on Emily’s recs. Most recently anything from Em Cosmetics. As a matter of fact best of 2020 for me. Also had an incredible customer experience with them actually. Very impressed from all angles.
They do have minis at times, but limit colours. I’ve got a mini dim light, a mini bronzer and a mini blush. I went through 2 of the mini bronzers before I decided that it was worth investing in a full size since I loved it so much. I love mini blush as I have never hit pan on a single blush in my life!
I splurged on it and it looked dreadful on me so it's not guaranteed to be great. I do have a love of cream blushes so maybe if you prefer powders it's worth the splurge
NARS sheer glow... I avoided it like the plague because of the word glow and my oily self was terrified but since trying I will never go back. I’m a matte, medium coverage with a light feel girl and this is IT. Clicked right away, loving the content recently! Super interesting and I always trust your opinions! Happy holidays, Emily!

I have decided to not support Hourglass since they don’t have any products that suit darker skin tone. Their products are beautiful, but I just don’t want to give them my dollars until they expand their shade range.

I have wanted to try the BB Face base but I wear a lot of sunscreen and I'm not sure if that would work under my Paula's Choice Mineral suncreen. Love u girl. So so much. Incredible content Emily!! I recommend Lisa Eldridge’s velvet lipsticks and her glosses. Also Urban Decay’s Stoned Vibes palettes is A-MA-ZING. I was a little lazy about eyeshadows, and what a time not to emphasise your eyes bc of the masks. And I felt completely inspired to create multiple looks it’s so fun. 💕 Kept thinking about the glam palette, but I’m torn between that one the Pat McGrath mega palette. 😕 I know they’re completely opposites but I’m intrigue me by the shimmers in the celestial divinity palette 🤔
Glam is the only ND I own and the only one that calls to me, like made my heart beat fast💕. I don’t think it’s super versatile, but I think it’s beautiful and easy to work with. When it came out I felt like it was a makeup release for a mature, professional woman. I’m really thrifty and I think it’s worth the money if it’s in your budget. Love, love, love your channel Emily and trust your opinions.
Loved it! I have not rearranged the shades of the ND palette but might give it a try.... I would love to see you do a video recreating Patty Alonso’s eye looks .... she is the best (my humble opinion) at doing the five looks one palette video. She has definitely helped me get out of my comfort zone.

I have just purchased the Estee Lauder Futurist foundation and i must say it's already one of my favorites. I have the La Mer foundation and the Estee Lauder knocks the socks off of the La Mer for me.
@@tallisinwonderland4724 Hi I found it's a very light and breathable foundation with excellent coverage that minimize my pores and gives me a raidant airbrushed finish. And my skin does not feel dry or look cakey. I also found that I didn't need to use a primer underneath and it last for at least 10 hours. All it needs is a light dusting of powder over the top. An excellent foundation I found..

I use the Hourglass compact for everything! Sometimes I do use the blush for eye shadow, the bronzer in the crease and the highlighter under my brow bone. And they last so long! For me, the price is worth it because I use it everyday, every pan, and it lasts forever! It also lasts under a mask for 12 hours. Impressive. Thanks, Emily. Love your channel. 😘
Thanks for always mentioning lower cost products Em. I recently got a 4-pack of various Nivea tinted balms and oh my goodness they are so soothing. You can't go wrong with the tint either, so thanks for that too.
The ND Glam palette wears beautifully throughout the day. It's UD Naked 2 taken to a whole new level. I rarely wear neutral eye shadow. It's not my preferred color scheme at all, but there are times when I need a neutral eye for work, and the ND palette makes it super easy for me to throw together a cohesive light-to-mid-tone look in under ten minutes. The colors blend perfectly and the formula melts into the skin. 14 hours later, and it'll still look so good and so effortless. I'm only getting one palette in that color range, and I feel like the Glam palette is perfection in the neutral-cool spectrum.
I love that you give drug store products that are similar. I am just getting into make up and haven't treated myself to luxury brands yet but I feel like I can still get a great look without luxury. You're awesome, Emily!

I love the Glam palette so much. I'll cry when I hit pan. And I will hit pan because I legit wear it every day. And I get the most compliments from my husband when I'm wearing it... Even my daughter notices. So the 65 price was more than with it. The formula and color story for me is just perfect.
I can do several looks in the palette alone. I can do a pinky look. I can do a taupe look. I can do a bronze look. I can do a silver look. I also combine my bronze palette with this palette & get all kinds of looks. That dark purple shade in the bronze palette combines nicely with this palette.
Em please try the Love in London palette by bh cosmetics and see if it is a dupe for the ND glam palette. Its a really great affordable cool toned palette! 💓
I like the glam palette. I haven’t moved it around at all. I don’t think it is overly versatile, but I do think the neutrals make this an easy palette to wear to a conservative office job. And it can also be “glammed” up in intensity. I am thrilled to have a cool palette available in good quality eyeshadow.
The ND Glam palette is my first from her. I told myself back when she came out with the love palette that if she ever came out with a cool toned version in the $65 range, I’d get it and I’m in love. I wasn’t in love right away, but every time I caught my reflection (including in my iPad where it goes dark where there should be a commercial) and I don’t think my eyes have ever looked so good and that’s when I really started to love and appreciate this palette. I look better in cooler tones and I really do get some pretty different looks. I can go silver like you did, go more golden (the gold in there actually looks good on me and not weird), or skip that gold shade and just use the champagne shades. The rosy shades probably look the most natural on my pink skin (probably my favorite). I’ve been playing more with putting the dark shimmers in the outer and inner corners and then a bright shade in the middle. I’ve gotten several different looks and I love it so much
The Mercier isn't good for my undereye, too drying. But the No 7 Lift & Luminate pressed powder is what I use, daily, undereye. Not too pricey and EXCELLENT for my aging undereyes.
I would never splurge on a hourglass palette like that, but your makeup looks SO NICE. Thank you for mentioning some alternatives to the things you used today! I think I have a MAC face powder that's sort of like the hourglass one. I forget what it's called though...it used to be popular here on YT. MAC skin finish natural maybe?
I have both the Laura Mercier and the Hourglass powders. I love them both and don't see any difference between them. They are both light and have a wonderful way of blurring the skin without being cakey.

Mood Exposure is my favorite blush of all time! I'm not a big blush person (I call my style of blush "nothing blush" lol) but Mood Exposure gives me just enough color to feel alive but not so much that I feel like a doll. My favorite way to use the Ambient Lighting Powders is when I'm finished with all my base and complexion products (minus highlight) I take it on a dense powder brush (I use the #91 from the old Sephora Collection brush line) and buff all over. I find that by doing that I get a better blend with my contour, bronzer, and blush into each other, it tones down any of those that I over applied, and it smoothes out of skin.
My goodness! The Hourglass powders (all of them) are all just SO BEAUTIFUL! I can’t use them - too many large pores & lines - it accentuates them & what a disappointment for me but at least I can watch Emily enjoying it!

I got the pink hourglass holiday palette a few years back! My most expensive makeup purchase but I never regretted it!!! I’ve used up almost 3 of the powders in the palette! Totally worth the splurge!

Yes! I’ve tried it a couple times through the years and it’s been a fail. I just bought that Becca brightener and I like just that in its own. Not saying I couldn’t use more coverage, but the brightener kind of distracts from it.
Hourglass loose is my favorite as well. When my twine was oily, the LM never worked for me at all. I’d give my daughters all of the samples I got. I am much dryer now, but the HG is just perfect for setting plus it gives my skin a little glow.
So glad to see you using this. It looks great. As a fair-skinned cool-undertone eyeshadow person, I’m happy this is a lighter palette. In most palettes, mid-tone is as dark as I can go. That said, I wish the gold tones weren’t there. One day, I’d like to see a palette with only cool tones, which is why I also bought her 5-shade blue-gray palette, exclusive, I think, to Beautylish. Huge pans and trends dark, but I’m guessing I can sheer it out. My only splurge of the holiday palettes, though also picked up CP Baroque. If only BB brought back the Greige palette. Mine is 5 years old.
The ABH Modern renaissance palette, fenty killawatt highlighters and cream blushes, huda lip pencils and NARS foundations and powder matte liquid lipsticks are my so worth the money products.

Darlings! CT is pretty much my ride or die makeup brand: I love everything they release. That BB face base is also fantastic for those sensitive skin gals like me-it plays very well with my rosacea.
Funny thing I don’t like shape tape I found it drying I much prefer the maybelline eye eraser ✏️ that’s a truly great product and I’ve used it for years xx
I love the palette even tho I don’t get a ton of different looks. I don’t mind that. I am not normally a neutral palette lover but I love cool tones. One of my fav things is that it tells you where to best use colors on the various parts of my eyes. I have even most of the eye look with these shadows and added a different lid color from my Sydney Grace single shadows. I love the quality of these shadows!
Emily, this is my favorite look to date. I love it when you go out of your comfort zone. You should do a wild, wacky look for fun, using colors you would never use.
I just HAD to share this with everyone who is looking for a dupe to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders. I just tried the Elf Halo Powder and was delighted that it gives a VERY similar effect as the Hourglass finishing powder! Use a very light hand. Only a small amount is required. The powder comes in a variety of shades. It is a little different than using a pressed powder, as the Elf Halo powder is looses,, but it does come in a very nice jar with a sifter that closes (nice job, Elf!) . The Elf powder is $8 vs $48 for the Hourglass, so for the price difference, it is well worth it. Make sure to use a light hand and you will get a similar effect as the Hourglass . I have tried so many so called dupes and this is the closest one. This is so much better than the Essence powder that everyone was saying was similar (it was too dark and slightly orange on me). I have 47 year old skin with some texture and some fine lines and this powder smoothes all this out without extenuating any imperfections. Run, don't walk if you want a dupe that is just as gorgeous as the high end product for a fraction of the price! I feel like I'm doing some kind of ad for Elf, but I just wanted to share with everyone because I have been looking for a more reasonably priced product and have finally found one! They are not exactly the same, but the effect is so similar that no one will know the difference(again, apply with a fluffy brush and a light hand). For reference, I am very fair with a pink undertone. Both the medium and light work great. The medium is similar to the Hourglass Dim Light and the Elf Light is similar to their Ethereal Light. Elf also has a pink Halo Powder and I'm going to pick that up and see if it might be similar to Hourglass Finishing Powder in Mood Light or possibly their blush in Ethereal Glow.
I’d love to see someone compare the ND Glam to the Colourpop That’s Taupe palette, b/c honestly I would never drop that much on a palette that I might only love for one season.
I finally got the ND palette (used my 25% off coupon from Boxycharm) and it’s just a beautiful palette for mature eyes. The shimmers are the perfect formula-not too metallic but definitely glowy and brightening. Also, it’s a great palette for the shadow placement that I usually go for, which is the one Emily demonstrated in the video.
