Anthony Joshua is a protected fighter. The ref Marcus McDonnell tried to save him from Dubois' beat down. Howard Foster and Steve Grey were two of the judges for AJ Vs DDD. They both tried to rob Usyk against Anthony Joshua. Ref Luis Pabon allowed Anthony Joshua to hit Usyk with 20 lowblows, rabbit punch in the 9th and shoulder slam in the 12th

I saw the true colors of AJ already when he was an amateur: at the London Olympics he was schooled by Savon and later clearly beaten by Cammarelle. In 2011 he was ragdolled and stopped by a short, fat, clumsy, but fearless and aggressive romanian construction worker. AJ is scared like Hell by pressure fighters with power and hand speed, since he can not trade on the backfoot and his defence collapses, together with his morale.
@CraigMansfield
@CraigMansfield 11 минут назад
Exactly. His morale. If things don't go his way, he seems to want to pack up and go. Not thinking that it's just the way boxing goes and you fight to the end. And more importantly he needs multiple strategies so when one doesn't work he's got another. Can't take a punch. Dubois got clouted with a huge right and stayed up.

I think this again shows that activity is very important look at the development Dubois has gone through and he's had 4 fights in 18 months. I think it could be a smart move to fight Parker and then the winner of Usyk vs Fury. Keeping up the activity will be useful against guys who fight once a year, especially against a great experienced boxer with a unique style. Interesting fact James Braddock The Cinderella Man, was considered retired in the 1930s because he didn't fight for 9 months, they thought he'd never be able to compete at a top level again because of that extended time off.

dont forget that Usyk too will be better in the second fight. Fury realistically speaking only won 4 round against Usyk and that was 3 to 6. round 7 Usyk landed more than Fury and 8 like you stated thats when Fury got hit on the nose and usyk won every round after. Not saying Fury cant win the rematch but I struggle to see how he does win it because trying to use size on Usyk doesnt really work because not only can he fight on the front foot like he did with Fury and pretty much bully a man who was nearly 40 pounds heavier and 5 inches taller, He can stick and move like he did with Joshua so leaning on him won't work. For me I think Fury will have to go in and just throw everything early and try to get him out of there ASAP and if it doesnt work before round 7 thats it done because he cant outbox Usyk. But I cant wait for the rematch. Still very much a 50/50 fight for me

As usual. 100% right. AJ deserve credit for beating Klitschko in a hard fight. But he won the belts from an extremely weak opponent who "walks the erf like a god". Absolute clown. Hearn saw a marketing opportunity and ran with it. Somewhere along the way, AJ believed in it. But deep in his heart he never believed in himself. Everytime it comes to an important fight, he implodes and doesn't perform. Who leads with an uppercut in round 5 with a guy who's not that hurt? I think he was embarrassed and hoping for another Dillian Whyte uppercut finish..... But the truth is any decent boxer is going to box his lugs because he's simply not cut out to be a champion boxer. He even had Usyk really hurt to the body and he couldn't jump on him to finish the job. That self belief would have beaten Usyk. But AJ doesn't have the killer instinct. And he doesn't have the fighting guts. He's fine when it's going his way. Hey the guy has 100% more courage than me, he's better looking than me, he's significantly wealthier than me, he's smarter than me, he's everything better than me...... But he's not a top 5 boxing champion.

He's going crazy. The ref made two mistake. That was a bout it. The knock down that was, which he didn't call (and that hurt AJ, as he took too much punishment after it should have been a count), and the way he said no knock down (when it was but made it seem like the bout was over). Bad mistakes, but Teddy is going over the top. edit: the rest was fine, it was elbows and low blows which he called out (that's what happens when you go into a bout and say I will cheat to win, people will look for it). In fact the ref should have said, you got 4 mins if you need, and AJ should have taken them, even if not hurt too bad. edit: Usyk took the time, but he was actually hurt (was it really low?). AJ should have done that. edit: it doesn't help when you corner is giving you bad instructions. Sorry that is a blame thing. You can't say it's not, and you don't want to say it. If they instructed him to do this, they would have trained him not to be exposed as well. The trainers messed this match up, DD's did not. That was the difference IMHO (well that and DD came in hot wanting it more -- ok, that's very important too, AJ came is like a lettuce, which I don't get, pressure?).
@Timmy51m
@Timmy51m 35 минут назад
I think the problem with your argument on who has he beaten is if you can say that about Joshua, you have to say it about the entire heavyweight division, he's fought who he had to when he had to do it. Unless you want to say he hasn't fought Wilder, nothing about that fight would have changed your argument, he's not a great fighter, and the Fury fight never got made. It just comes back to styles make fights. We have 2 really stylish fighters in the division, Usyk and Fury, that's it, the rest are just hitters or tanks or both, and against those guys, Joshua has a 50/50 or slightly better chance. It's rarely ever been any different, there's only a couple of really great fighters at any one time.

7:20 - the ref made the wrong gesture, he should have been waving his arms towards the floor to indicate a no knock down and/or slip.

And why are they talking about a REMATCH? Since when is the CHALLENGER allowed to demand a rematch? STINKS, was not a close fight and AJ DOES NOT WARRENT ONE. Thanks for sharing guys, and good on you telling just how it is!. I'm from over the pond, but agree with exactly what you said. ATB.

I think it's because Turki wants to set up a superfight between AJ and Fury at Wembley for all the belts. DD can't really sell a fight can he, personality of a plank of wood unfortunately, 80k of those fans came to see AJ beat him. If it's Usyk then they already fought in Poland for a crowd of 40k, doesn't really compare as a spectacle does it. Fury AJ would fill Wembley, the atmosphere would be epic, and there would be a great promo leading up to it.

Teddy, I usually love your analysis, and rarely miss your shows, but this was some very poor analysis from you for one of the biggest fights of the year. You guys should be embarrassed titling this video "Full Fight Analysis," because it certainly was not. I understand you were probably tired from travelling, but fans expect a lot more from you. You gave us no technical analysis here whatsoever. In fact you talked about everything but the actual fight itself. The "man in the mirror" "belief" speech sounds good, but it doesnt apply to every fight, and quite frankly it gets old. It's very shallow, lazy, cut and paste analysis. You could say that about any fight after the fact. How about talking about the technical realities of the fight and how it unfolded? No matter how much "belief" Dubois had, if Joshua would have stayed patient and defensively disciplined, you wouldnt be talking about all this empty motivational mumbo jumbo nonsense. Its really just talk and hype and hearsay. I'm glad you had a good time with your daughter, but next time you are invited overseas to perhaps the biggest fight of the year, maybe take some notes? We watch you because we expect you to point out something about the fight that no one else picked up on. Some deep technical analysis, not this regurgitated meaningless motivational speech banter, or some line you heard from a trainer who was sick and didnt even participate in the full camp. How about Joshua underestimating Dubois reach? How about Joshua getting in too close with his hands down? How about Joshua's impatience? How about the fact that there is no way Dubois could have kept that pace up for much longer and would have tired, and again if Joshua is just slightly more disciplined and patient, and uses the knowledge and skills we all know he has, this fight likely has a very different outcome? Dubois didnt do anything particularly special. He walloped a guy that was too close who was there to be walloped. He beat a guy who underperformed and made rookie mistakes that he knew better than to make. This fight was much more about what Joshua failed to do than anything Dubois did. He got the win and he deserves credit. But we as fans deserve to know WHY he won. And you really sell us short when you boil it down to Dubois magical "beliefs" and harp on that for 30 minutes. What about all the fighters that believed and still lost? You gonna tell me Tyson didnt believe he could beat Douglas? How about Gvozdyk? You didnt get him to believe he could beat Beterbiev? Kinda shows belief is pretty much meaningless. If you didnt believe you could win you wouldnt even get in the ring with a 250 lb professional fighter. Boxing fights arent won on "belief," they are won or lost on action, or lack of. If anything, belief and nothing else leads to overconfidence. You should know that much better than I do, you've been involved in this sport for 50 years. I could ask my 10 year old nephew why Dubois won and he would likely say "because he believed in himself." Not much depth to that Ted. We deserve more than 10 year old Peter Pan level analysis from you. Its ironic because right off the top of my head I can think of several in depth, punch by punch round by round breakdowns of D level no name fighters you have given us many times before that no one cared about, but for an enormous highly anticipated fight like this, you got nothin? I guess it's a fitting metaphor. Just like AJ, Teddy had a golden opportunity to shine for the boxing world and grossly underperformed. This "analysis," just like AJ's effort, turned out to be quite a failure. So I guess we are left to "believe" that Teddy didn't really "believe" in this analysis. So if Teddy simply had believed, this would have been a much more effective meaningful video that might have lived up to the standard of a Teddy Atlas "Full Fight Breakdown."

Froch and Simon are bitter because they are not getting any of the Saudi money. To be fair, this is NOT a British event. It is the RIYADH season being hosted in the UK just so that UK fans get to see two British fighters. So, can and should a Saudi (Riyadh season) event have a Saudi national anthem? Why not?
