I had to watch it again. Povetkin's left uppercut during angle change was superb. It was tricky of Povetkin after having worked on his body before that, and Whyte became patient while Povetkin wasn't. Didn't expect Whyte to lose like that but it seems like he is extremely vulnerable towards the chin.

He has a good jab which he does to find his range, he also uses a left hook and moves in on his opponent to close the distance and get them towards the ropes and if he has the opportunity he will KO them. He can also use the uppercut effectively (in a clinch or if they duck under a hook and he throws one like in the Klitschko fight). You're right, his footwork is lousy, but it makes sense for him to not move so much because with a body like his packed with so much muscle, moving around so much without working on the cardio will surely affect his stamina, that's why he uses his defense to check (block) punches to the head and body using his gloved and elbows or on occasion roll them off of his shoulder (like in the Povetkin fight, which I'd like to see more of if he learns how to use it properly). He will often use a jab, left hook, right hand cross combination to break their guard and stun them which he will then use to KO them, he also uses a lot of body shots which I can see being Jarrell Big Baby Bitch Miller's downfall. He is a smarter boxer than many make out. I believe he'd lose to Fury on points but we'll see when the two fight for undisputed because it's safe to say that Wilder is fucked and Fury will outbox Whyte and beat him on points when he gets his mandatory shot.

He fought the same, and in the Ruiz fight he got careless just the same after he got the knockdown and thought he had Andy stunned.

It was actually one of his worst strategies for a fight. If he'd kept Whyte at range, he wouldn't have got hit once and would have still knocked him out. He admitted that he let his emotions decide his approach to the fight, by wanting to take it to Whyte and beat him at his own game. That tells you how good AJ is! To be fair Whyte came in with a badly injured shoulder. He had to take an injection before the fight to reduce the pain. He still put up a great fight.

If he was tbe fighter he is now he'd have stopped him. He saw what others are starting to. Joshua's body has always seized up when he takes a big shot and he can't do anything about it. It's the strangest thing to see. AJ will get sparked again soon enough.

Style sometimes make fights so you can't always draw comparisons. However, Fury completely outclassed Whyte to such an extent that it was probably one of the most embarrassing and one sided fights I've seen in years. Joshua v Whyte was fairly competitive for 7 rounds. Fury also completely eviscerated a younger, more active Klitschko in front of a hostile crowd on German soil. It was extremely one sided. Whereas Joshua had a life and death match in home soil with an older, inactive Klitschko who repeatedly couldn't find the timing on his left hook. Joshua also took 7 rounds to knock out Breazeale, a big old lump who can't box. Wilder blasted him out in a round. Breazeale was repeatedly slipping Joshua's right cross whereas Wilder landed it with immediate effect. This in itself shows Wilder is a lot faster than Joshua. I think we're going to see how much better Fury is when they fight. Fury will just frustrate and outbox Joshua from range for 7-8 rounds and when Joshua has nothing left in the tank, Fury will knock him out.

People just dont see his skill because usyk gets credit for using his size (lack of) to out box heavyweights.
