They sure are going to fight one day.. Ricardo and Ippo.. I honestly believe it, even Martinez sparred with Ippo and mentioned that he feels like whole world is revolving around him and even was mentioned few times that all people that Ricardo fought so far (Date, Alfredo and Sendo with Sendo fight probably coming in few chapters) pushed all of them to the limits and he even won against Sendo twice.. But what I do feel is that Sendo is going to push Ricardo the most, why? Because before Sendo gets to fight Ricardo, Ricardo is going to fight against Wally first. So in that fight I believe Sendo will learn that fighting like an animal is not going to do anything. I think he will learn something really important from that fight and have the best match of his life but still lose and I think after that fight, Ippo will make a slow comeback to the ring after seeing his rival lose. But either way, Ippo is surely making a comeback. It's justa matter of time, I mean after all, manga is called "Hajime no Ippo!"

It will probably be the same story as Date. He will become world champion once Ricardo gives up the belt and retires since he's the same age as Date.

not realy. in one of the chapter after he retired he talked about he only used few skills. that became predictable because of that but regardles what your saying his strong point is getting inside the pocket. the only thing ippo needed to do was blend his skills with the basics to remove his predictable behavior.

It's still a story at the end of the day. It wouldn't have hit harder at any other fight. Ippo was world level but he also needed to get humbled since he didn't cross that line separating champion boxers from legendary monsters. Boxing is a mental game as well.

Not really, He was still an experienced World Ranker and has been in one good World Title fight his first one doesnt count since his nerves got to him and got knocked out first round. Alf is a great fighter, good instincts aswell, well rounded. If you think how he stopped it was bullshit then Ricardo stopping it with jabs was bullshit. He is the man who pushed Ricardo alongside Date lasting 10 rounds before going down, They were the only people who saw "El Diabo" or Quatzelcoatl's true face.

Plus,he literally saw it for the first time( it was at least the first time he faught against someone who uses the demspey roll),so his experiance for that particular situation is pretty much 0. The whole point is that he was more lucky than anything else really. Ricardo at least displayed insane precision with his jab.

@@kiyoshi9807 Alf didn't fall to Ippo accidentally it was ON PURPOSE. He knew leaning there would be a safe spot. It wasn't lucky it was his pure instinct that got him there. And even if it was his first time seeing it It is just momentum haymaker hooks. And one factor why he isn't scared is he's snapped and was really angry, towards the last stretch of this fight he could block out fear by becoming more and more angered but in turn lose himself and his amazing Boxing intelligence. Even if Alf's experience with it was a total of 0 The demsey is not particularly a complex technique to pull off so it's easy to see how to stop it. With that logic then Sawamura or Sendo stopping it by the step back counter and Dashing to stop the pendelum even though they had no experience for it is bullshit aswell. Point is they are not dumb and they can observe it well and come to a conclusion and make a strategy for it on the fly, Alf, a world ranker can simply do that.

That's what i thought too, ippo has 3 lost now, i remember pacquiao rise to fame after his 3 loses.

it's because Ippo takes a lot of punches, way more than the oppenents he faces, since he's an in-fighter and that's his style of boxing, and that's an other reason why Ippo accumulated damage over the years and had brain damage that made him retire.
