I didn't know about these, genuine vs full grain until my friends gifted 2 leather belts, one with a Cadillac buckle and other Esquire. The belts of both were flexible, full leather smell, and no stitches. I had to look it up to see on how tell from real vs fake. Thanks 😊
Hi Nab Leather. First thank you so much for the education of full grain leather vs genuine leather. Second I think the stores need a better education of genuine leather on the belt. It seems the public has been brainwashed to believe genuine leather is a good quality product when in fact it is substandard. In fact you should put the stamp full grain genuine leather on the belt so that it will not confuse the consumer into thinking your product is lower quality than it is. There are many people that needs the stamp full grain leather to help distinguish good leather vs bad leather. Again thank you so much and now I have another place to find good leather quality leather goods
Hello brother from india I am the owner of Hayat Tannery. We are the manufacturer of finished leather for belts, shoes, ladies bags, wallet of all colour and thickness. We are also a manufacturer of leather safety shoes of all type. Our leather is a buffalo leather.
It's insane how it's apparently cheaper to coat split leather with polymers than using full grain... Can split leather be made waterproof by treating it with linseed oil?
Hey Sava, That is a great point. All the leather we use is a bi-product of the food industry. We generally let very little leather go to waste, turning smaller pieces (like the cut belt in this video) into belt loops, card holders, keychains, and other small leather goods.
They die for the meat Not for the leather tho so why Care about leather wich ist one of the Most sustainable Products as Well Made leather goods can outlive even multiple generations of a family
you’d rather pollute the environment with plastic belts that fail quickly and will release forever chemicals into wherever its dumped? or would you rather have a leather belt that yes, its made of cow skin, but with proper care it will last years upon years and when disposed of will biodegrade? i will also mention canvas belts, cotton or polyester straps with a buckle, but they wont last as long either and in the case of polyester its just plastic and will have the same problems as most fake leathers
