In Controller Settings, clear controls for "Increment/Decrement Tail Rotor" and instead map to "Rudder Axis Left/Right". On runway, set Vertical Trim to -45, Lateral Trim to plus or minus 10 (depending which way she leans) Set collective at 65%. You'll have to pull back a little to counter nose dive for the first 30 seconds or so. Once you're close to level flight, you'll need minor adjustments to your Trim and/or collective. Hope this helps 👍
The first thing I flew in real life was a Robinson R44 helicopter and from my experience the spinning issue with helis in msfs is definitely not how it is to fly a real helicopter from what I experienced. That is definitely a weird bug with the game… I play with a velocity one flight stick and play on Xbox series x and also use tail rotor and main rotor assist… much better
Same here, my dad has a lot of hours on the Bell 206 in real life. He tried it on MSFS and said the tail rotor is way to weak in the sim and the spinning is totally unrealistic....
I find that whenever I point the noise even slightly forward it gets dragged very far down and to the left. This causes it to spin and overall makes it unflyable
Too far forward on the cyclic, too much anti torque, and not adding enough collective 'all at the same time'. The lower your airspeed, the more you need the pedals. Slow and easy until you get used to getting well off the ground and milk in a little forward. Like patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time. Yea, I crashed 1000 times and still tricky for me.
You may know this, but in case you don't, if you want the tail Rotor to autocentre, clear controls for "Increment/Decrement Tail Rotor" and instead map to "Rudder Axis Left/Right"
I have a question, how did you get the search light option? I need it. Edit: also great video, i just get rid of the wind, it helps lowering the spinning. Edit 2: on the 407 i mean
Good tutorial over all, but you may want to omit the part about "adding throttle" on lift off. Also if it flies this smooth for you it is not nearly realistic - in my opinion.
I’ve tried to alter the controls so i can have throttle and collective on different inputs but the game won’t have it 🥴 does spin and that’s why I’m here, I have a little 3D rc helicopter and was hoping to learn on here but looks like I won’t be 😆 easier to fly an rc one than one on msfs
I did EVERYTHING you said and the 407 is completely unstable on controller. Still spins. This video does nothing to teach you how to stop the spinning. Microsoft needs to fix this trash.
You are not giving it gas or even messing with throttle. As you pull on the stick it adjust the blades to give it lift. Gas or throttle is set to certain RPM and never changes, just the pitch of the blades. Somebody had to have said this in comments.
@@FastTimesVero well I’m glad to at least have confirmation that it is possible to fly the helicopters on the Xbox without assistance. I’ll switch these assists on and hopefully finally be able to have a good time with the helos, thank you!
I've been watching MSFS since it released, but am not sure I won't just get bored with it right away. I have all the helis in DCS and combat is different than just flying around. Is there anything to do in these (i.e. missions) other than just fly around?
Did everything you said as soon as i apply gas tgis thing does the exact same thing goes imto an uncontrolable spin goes upside down and crashes i havent found anything to fix it yet ,sux these helos look so fun
Looks helicopter is easy flying than airplane.but difficult flying. My boyfriend was pilot in the military and commercial plane. He said helicopter is difficult flying.
I’m having this issue with the Bell407 that I can’t seem to get the helicopter to lift off the ground, I have the assistance options turned on and everything…
Great video! I’m glad you are promoting using the assists! It depends on what controller you are using and what your goal is. I recommend everyone start with them on and turn them of if you want as you improve. The advantage is more maneuverability as you get better. I have some videos on my channel that go over some of the aerodynamics. It’s easier to fly when you understand some of the effects that are happening. NO, don't do exact thing, these Allison/RR engines don't take HOT starts well at all. Watch tubes how to start/shudown the real 206. Larger birds may have FADEC to do this for you or I think the sim has auto-startup/shutdown option. Otherwise these assist settings saved my life countless times. Thanks for the VID.
