Put up head to head numbers against last years model Paradym . It’s the only way to see if there’s been any improvement!

I am intrigued by Simon's idea of Callaway eventually moving to building custom driver faces. If the face manufacturing can be migrated to 3d printing (a big if, no idea on feasibility) the additional cost might not be that much, although the fitting process would probably require additional steps and cost. In general I think this could be a really good step forward in quality of woods for the average customer. Numbers on the driver were very impressive, especially the draw bias head. If you have, as I do (but am working on it!) with a right miss, the draw bias head but with more loft than usual could be a game changer. Personally I am more interested in the fairway woods, mostly because I am not particularly happy with my 7w. I have a definite preference for shallower faced fairway woods, so the Paradym Smoke is already ticking a lot of boxes for me.

The Draw bias heads were great. There will still be a high cost to customised driver faces as it will require the analysis and custom build of the head but it might not be too far off!

@@Precision_Golfsurely the customisation will be limited to weighting, loft and lie, that shouldn’t cost too much. You would draw from a stock of heads for tweaking when building?

The draw biased version looks uncontrollable, two wrongs don’t make a right, lessons surely have more value. At my course, you would live in the heather, not fun.

@@Pud56 it depends how big your slice is and there are a lot of players if has a big benefit for. For me it goes too far left but for many players it could be a real game changer

great video!! did a fitting and smoke 3wood hl was a winner. doing a heavenwood and removing a 5 wood. hybrid coming in the bag after heavenwood, I like the higher decent you showed, comperable to ping g430?

Thanks! The Callaway has historically been lower spin than the Pings but the HL option is higher spin than their old options but also a lighter head and that might be a good option

Do you know the weight of the sliding and button weight of the max model? I could tell the sliding weight looks similar to the epic speed line prior

Sliding weight is 14g, button weight is 2g

interested to know the date you actually filmed the video and how far in advance of the embargo you get the product. A strange time in the equipment world. Surely all customers have to wait until all manufacturers have released. Great Video as always.

Hi Ian. We had early access to film content in November. However, all manufacturers allow their accounts to see and hit new product ahead of release date to allow commitment to pre-book orders which set you up on trade terms for the year. It’s a shame really as 15 years ago on demo day at the PGA Trade show was the first time anyone in industry saw new product and its was such a buzz. Sadly these days embargo dates are abused by many trying to seek an advantage over others and they are never policed. A sign of the times unfortunately. We know 2 instances we company’s different global regions havent communicatied effectively and made a complete hash of their own embargo dates. Very difficult also when there are two well known instagram account that see to be permitted to take photos of products during tour validation. No different to someone else telling your own kids what you bought them for Christmas before the big day.
