@@maxgagliano of course not. I was simply paraphrasing the commentators that were not afraid to identify the root issue. I'm Sicilian and spent my childhood in N Italy
@@thomazcardoso2418 Racism is a big deal , stupidity is an issue also , and it belongs to people like you that react with the instinct of a hen when they see something moving and all of a sudden they respond in consequence of what they see moving without elaborating that image for being brainless.
To be honest they don’t really care, like many other ones. Most of black players remember racism is bad, only when is with them, directly. If they really cared they would stand for each other no matter what. Most of them keep silent, and then use the social media to stand for. If a person is Black and sees another black person being racially abused, he is also being discriminate. That’s why FIFA doesn’t take it serious. the day they show them that by attacking one, they attacking many other, is the day that we might see real changes.
Something that annoys me, is the “confusion” from the udinese players and staff. They 100% knew what the issue was with their own fans and they seemed to be acting confused and such questioning the ref, looking agitated, but if that was your teammate I’d hope they be walking off too. When shit like this happens we should be seeing complete solidarity with a player being racially abused regardless of what team he is on.
Being a goal keeper, who just standing 90 minutes at one place, they listening clearly everything from all the fans behind them, and i can feel it what's it feel, what he feel... Respect maignan, from interisti indonesia
Nobody would like being racially abused on a pitch. It just does something to your moral and can cause trauma. Respect is important no matter what one's race is.
So you're saying you haven't gotten into a fight before because someone insulted you? You call them witless because you haven't been racially abused before@@broca246
@@broca246dude stfu. You prolly wanking in your moms basement. You don’t know how it feels playing there. Its high stress+ unnecessary abuse= total carnage. Fool
@@Adam10.stop being so oblivious. It’s a fact. I’m Afro Italian and I’m not saying all Italians are racist, but that doesn’t take away the fact that the number of racists incidents in Italy is shocking…
It's absolutely disgusting that fans still do this unacceptable behavior. Suspending games & banishing fans aren't enough. Serious repercussions need to be taken into account. Points deductions need to be made if possible. Fans can't get away with this.
@@lllllllll772 you do realise that although this sort of thing happens in England, it’s a massive issue in Italy, miles more than any other country, bar Spain. There have been about 40 incidents in which Balotelli alone had been racially abused playing in Italy. Just because this thing can happen in other countries doesn’t mean it isn’t more prominent in Italy.
Goat move from a goat player we need more human beings like him who show real leadership. Give him a role. He has shown real experience here. If there’s anyone who can solve racism it’s him. Respect.
Racism will never be “solved”. But the price can be made to be so steep that the racists decide to keep the thoughts inside their hollow skulls instead of spewing it out into the world. THAT IS possible…
Unfortunately this is not even surprising to anyone anymore. The only thing that shocks me, after all these years of players encountering abuse in the game, is that there is still no protocol in place for these types of incidents. Was Maignan meant to walk off alone? Was he obligated to return to the pitch? Were the Milan players suppose to leave in solidarity with him? Do the Udinese players unite with Milan and exit the pitch too? Is the ref supposed to postpone match temporarily or terminate it permanently? All I saw was that they carried on like nothing had happened. When, in my opinion, once the racist abuse has been reported and confirmed, the ref should end the game and it should be replayed/continued behind closed doors. Looks like this will be brushed under the rug yet again.
There is a protocol for this type of incident, and the ref followed it. Whether the protocol is good enough is another matter, but it's there. Basically it happened twice, first time there was an announcement to stop doing it (not shown in this clip), second time the game was briefly suspended as shown, third time the game would have been called off.
@@abc_35p I'm sorry but that is not true. The ref just went along with basic process like it was any other interrupted game. A protocol is a system that is in place that all parties are aware of and must follow. What part of this incident looked liked everyone knew what they should do? When the ref first goes to Maignan, you can see him gesture that the stadium announcer will ask them to stop (a futile action). The abuse continues, as expected, and Maignan then decides to leave the goal, and all the players stand around the side of the pitch not knowing what's happening; no protocol. At that point the ref had no choice but to suspend the game. Maignan then takes off his gloves and exits down the tunnel because he is done. He has to be convinced to come back. If there was a protocol in place he would have known not to leave the pitch or not to return and continue playing. The Milan team, Pereyra (Udinese) and the ref advise Maignan to just ignore the abuse, which he does; no protocol. The match is completed because just like every other time this has happened the abused player is told to just carry on. The game would only have been called off if the players chose not to play, as the ref was obviously not going to enforce any action to postpone it. Furthermore, not even the commentators knew what was hapenning. By now every official, player, manager, commentator, cameraman, fan and their dog should know exactly what happens when racism takes place during a match. Only then can you call it a protocol.
@@braxeld4551 are you one of them dummies? Free speech isn't covered under hate speech in ANY country... you can't just be racist and say malicious things and say "haha free speech" not how things work
Exactly! Well said. The only issue with this is that every Italian team might end up with a fine and deducted points which would be too much of an admin nightmare for the league and potentially lead to fans attending the rivals games and inciting racism just to "compete"
And what happens when agent provocateurs from rival clubs infiltrate your ground and chant abuse with the sole purpose of getting points deducted from your team?
@@kenmasters1803 The people yelling the chants and abuse are drunk bafoons and not intelligent, it’s not that deep imo. Cause people will still get life time bans from the league regardless. Smart people who actually love the game will not throw that privilege away.
Finally the players are doing something .. it's a small step, but I’m optimistic that in the future, other entities will do more. Smaller to larger scale eventually But back in the not so far past, the players and referees did nothing. There is still a long way to go to makew a big change, but here we are going as a society. Acts like these from Mike Maignan and other teammates, take a lot of courage and allow us to break some of the barriers that we have as a society.
Nothing heart warming about a black player playing for a team with such a racist fan base, guess black lives only matter when you’re not being paid 100k a week to look past it 😬
@ REC789 But we’re not trying to kick it out of society. We are trying to stop it in controlled environments. It’s something that can be stopped at football matches because if it becomes a prison sentence offence 95% of offenders would think twice.
Hats and gloves off to the keeper for taking a stance, and making a strong statement. Racism has no place in football and the Italian football authorities has turned a blind eye to this problem for decades.
Must be said that for once everyone did their job with utmost respect and dignity. Normally you've got other players/opposition players, managers, refs, etc telling the player who's been abused to stay on the pitch and doing everything they can to stop the abused from acting. With this, the ref communicated it efficiently and clearly and everyone backed Maignan. Very impressed with that side of it. The less said about the racist idiots the better.
@@Monaleenian focus on the topic at hand, Milan was leading 1-0 .. nevermind, if you cant understand what the OP was trying to say and then you vomit your logic to counter the op comment.. it shows that you missed the whole point of this video and the OP's comment. be safe and don't get anyone kill with your logic.
@@wenpatxczcvzcsfche 100% understands what the OP trying to say, he saw alot of flaws and loopholes that can be abused with that sustem. Lets take a less extreme example, imagine this game went 0-1 for milan until the 89th minute. Someone from udinese fanbase can wear milan attributes, stand in milan fans seats, pretend to be milan supporter and shouts racial slur directing towards black udinese player because by this rule udinese should be awarded 3 points despite them being behind 1 goal. Awarding the team abused racially 3 points doesnt immediately fix the racist issue, now you also has ravist issue mixed with match fixing
The home team should also make a statement and refuse to play. This is unacceptable and it's sad to see that most of the clubs and players only take action when it happens to themselves...
In reality, everyone is complicit. You don't make a monkey sound without the people next to you also hearing that sound. If they allow you to make that noise next to them, they are the same as you.
So glad ac milian did the right thing. I feel for the clubs as they don't make the fans be racist but the club should forfeit the game and then be punished by no fans for so many games etc etc
Why apppy harsh fines on FFP and not racism. Knee down and fist up is pointless. Deduct points and make them loose sponsors and fans will definitely behave. You can't teach sexuality to kids and not take social inclusion in all its scope serious as well. Racism is bad manners. Keep walking off the pitch until they loose money and points
This is nothing compared to the Portuguese and Spanish Football leagues black or white you get insulted. I know I am from there, after they were enslaved 750 years by the Roman Empire then right after that a 450 year occupation by the Muslim Moors all the way to the 1490's, you try and shake the volatile nature of 1100 years of insanity. The people in Palestine have no friken clue what an "Occupation" or Israels " Victim" money scam either . But according to the "Media" slavery and racism only started 400 years ago LMFAO I guess they forgot the hundreds of thousands of "White Southern Eurpeans" enslaved by the North Africans, well that is until their asses were kicked back to Africa in the 1200's.
Impacted and impressed by how calm Mmaignan is leading with the situation. Grand monsieur, and the referee, at least on these images shows respect and tries to help him, it is not easy for him either. I hope the responsibles will be banned from the stadium and they will feel shame. You shit. Respect to MMaigan and the solidarity of his teammates, we can’t accept this behaviour in any situation. It's very easy to identify the supporters who are involved and ban them for life. As they did for the hooligans in Britain. It seems that the Italians keep them on purpose. They need some political courage and will...
In reality, everyone is complicit. You don't make a monkey sound without the people next to you also hearing that sound. If they allow you to make that noise next to them, they are the same as you.
So anoyying Those who say that Italy is the friendliest country and there are no problems, in fact there are still racists like that, it's really embarrassing, it's a shame as a country of Pizza.
in my view point. is totaly good if football asociation have new standart for applying wide angle camera direct to crowd. is it can be minimalized that. and this way to player can prove that. udinese fans would have lot thanks to maignan especialy milan not rejected this match full. maybe it can make udinese win this match by WO. but is it embarrassed if udinese win with this way. would be note on history. and udinese fans have a bad reputation at all.
Na realidade, todos são coniventes. Você não faz um som de macaco sem que as pessoas ao seu lado também escute esse som. Se elas permitem que você faça esse barulho ao lado delas, elas são iguais a você.
Actually the regulation has it that if the match is being abandoned due to racism, the club which the fans being the perpetrator would be deemed losing by 3-0, as explained by the commentator around 4:37
The whistles and jeers as the keeper returned to the pitch shows the lack of education and humanity from the Udinese fans... they should have to play the rest of the season behind closed doors.
You say it right, but in the opposite way : Italians are the most aesterophil people in the world (true fact, not exxagerating ), which is the attitude of someone who has a perdurant inferiority complex. If you mean the racistic issue, unlike other nations ( USA or UK or France f.i.) in Italy ev'ryone was welcomed and could do whatever he liked more, no matter his skin color : actually we have nigerian, ghana, northafrican, african horn, southeastern africa, southamerican ,eastern europe slavic mafias, in addition of the traditional local one of course...! So these whistles are really a drop in the ocean and those primitive idiots making them a minority of low IQed worns. That's why you posted an improper comment.
I think that it's a big mistake for the Milan team to return to the pitch and play the rest of the game. UEFA need to get tough with the clubs whose supporters do this sort of thing
Mason Greenwood just got death chants and no one seems too bothered lol. I don’t condone this behavior and would never do it, but fans chant all sorts of horrible things and it’s strange that we act like it’s unique to black players. So many insults and chants have been shouted at players of every color, they want to get under the opposing players’ skin and this gives them what they want. Clearly the fans doing this are stupid and immature but the reactions to this as opposed to other chants that are arguably worse is strange.
The world knows about this problem in Italy. they just don't want to solve it. Why black people still go there to play. how much do they earn in Italy? can't understand this!
If he didn’t stop the game, they wouldn’t CARE they were just acting 🎭. They’re doing it in the name of the media. In real life it’s not the case. I live here and I can tell you that. I SALUTE HIM FROM MY HEART ❤️
Well I am surprised why the italian football federation fails to implement a simple solution. 1) install high quality audio equipment behind the goal posts. 2) get the third referree to monitor during a game 3) If they find evidence of racists chants - match is called off till the entire zone behind the goal post is vacated. If they fail to vacate, match is awarded to the away team.
The issue of racism in football is a long standing in the Serie A. It is been happening years now. I don’t understand the calcio and Italian gov cannot take actions
